Sharing this new strategy.
Im sure some of us know about it but some who dont, it might help.
Its called 'box and chill'

Basically what it is, is..
You identify where price is consolidating on a higher time frame..
Box it and then go to a lower time frame,
wait for a break out to the either side to take your entry.
You can trade it at the break out (risky) or wait for the breakout, a retest and then enter.

Also with this strategy, you can trade price movement within the box until it breaks out.

Here is a chart of EURNZD 4hrs with the box and chill strategy.
Red: Break out
Blue: Retest
White: Entry

EURJPY 4hrs (Boxed)
Likely to break out to the up side.
If you look at daily, you will notice the flag pattern.
This pair is likely to make a massive pip to the up side.

Yes, thats the analysis. See the yellow arrows.
It was meant to go up.
Though i was hoping for a retest to the former resistance turned support.
It didnt happen but the analysis is still apt.

Dont beat yourself up.
More trades are gonna come.
Even as I posted the USDJPY possible trade,
I missed it. Just came out from shower to see the break out.
I was hoping the break out will happen tomorrow.
I like to trade the actual break out and also the retest.

However, there may be a big trade on that pair (AUDUSD)
You can see from the chart, the blue line and yellow marks.
Price just approached a resistance.
So in effect, the retest to the big sbox (support) might happen sooner.
Whatever happens, will do my best to update.

@pipnator can you shed more light on how you draw your boxes? It would be of great help to me in particular. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Find where price is consolidating, mostly on a higer time frame (4hrs/daily chart), box the consolidation and wait for possible signs of break out. No one is ever certain of the direction of price but once there is consolidation, there is a certainty that price must break out from it.
This is a 4hrs NZDJPY chart, you will see the yellow boxes/consolidation with break outs.
Open a different chart form this one. Try to find previous/past consolidations, box them and watch how price broke out from them.
Remember when you are ready to trade this strategy, you box them of higher time frame but go to lower time frame to trade them.
