In Nigeria we attach a lot of importance to being a family representative but it holds little water as far as the US Embassy is concerned. What if you dont represent them in the US will the wedding not hold? Will the family discipline you by excommunication? Will the family disintegrate?

The VO was kind enough to tell you what we tell ourselves here in this forum. Go somewhere else for your vacation or just suspend your application until your ties are strong enough. Don't waste money needlessly. Families survive on that 50k in a month.

The VO's recommendation was unsolicited and in very poor state. That was impolite.

Really? The VO said it in the most polite way ever. That's the most you'd probably get out of them as compared to the usual mechanical answer.

I really don't think we should make an issue out of nothing. Even unsuccessful job applicant's are wished better luck in their job search.

My sister got married around December 2017 and her husband is based in the US and he's filed for her to come over there through marriage.
The issue at hand is that the names on her birth certificate were spelt wrongly and unfortunately was used on the I-130 Form (petition for alien relative). So she can't go to the visa interview with such details.

Solution : Does She swear affidavit, effect the name change on the birth certificate and forward to her husband to restart or edit the I-130 FORM process? Or there is another way around this.

Your wise input will be gladly appreciated here.

You should concentrate more on your ties and you need to do a lot of research because CAC certification should not be your problem at this time. Go through the U.S Embassy website and through this thread from part1-3. Goodluck.

almost all Non-Immigrant visa application requires you to appear at the Embassy.

You should evaluate your ties to Nigeria... Are you married? kids? travel history and salary etc.
It should be easy enough for your mom to get the visa.

No.I am not married and consequently no kids,no travel history. I earn a little over a 100k.My uncle in the US is our sponsor.

Again,I am currently preparing to get an F1 visa for studies in the US.Paradventure i fail to secure a visa this time,would it come out being desperate and percieved as an intending immigrants the next time I appear for a student visa interview?
