The total civil servants in Osun is less than 40,000. Let us say each has 10 direct dependents, that makes it 400,000 in a state of about 4 million people. So you think because 1% is being paid half salary on which let us add another 10% dependents, then the remaining 90% are poor and can’t pay tithe.

Osun is an agrarian state not a civil service state. Even the pastor being quoted acknowledged that infrastructure was being developed by the state though he derided that as ‘standard’. I say infrastructure to be enjoyed by 100% of populace is as standard as paying salaries to 1% since the revenue of government is extremely limited.

If the above claim is correct concerning Aregbesola's performance, i can say with all certainty that Osun state people will be returning back to Egypt under PDP administration.
I keep wondering why workers always feel that a governor is performing once he is able to pay salaries. Struggling to pay workers' salaries is an indicator that the income of the state isn't bouyant. Generally many of the Governors have no idea about how to improve on their states' IGR. This is the basic problem many states are facing. I wish that whoever takes over from Aregbesola will go beyond payment of workers' entitlements but also improve on the well being of the majority of Osun citizens who are not government workers.
