Hello people,

I thought that if you apply as married, you have lower points than if you apply as single/hubby non-accompanying.

Oya epp me torchlit this scenario o

Married (PA), 37, Masters, IELTS - 8.5,9,7,8(LRWS)
Hubby - Masters, 7.5,8.5,7,7
CRS - 439

But if it is spouse unaccompanying, the score drops to 434. Is there something we are not getting right? pls assist.

Thank you.

My thought is he's offering almost full points and you've lost the age advantage. In this instance your hubby is actually an asset and you two are stronger as a team. Let him retake ielts for 8777 so you guys can cross into 440.

Don't know if you're doing anything wrong sha, the crs tool experts will soon arrive.

@ddymples also consider rewriting for a 7.5 in writing which would get you straight to 442...

Good day house. It’s been a while.
I just wanted to motivate the folks that have been on the PR journey for a while now and feel like giving up. Don’t. I remember I almost did the same in 2016 when different things were happening. Low points, then POF. I actually gave up, then stumbled upon this family in 2017, then started again. I’ve now been here (Toronto) since February.
God’s got all of us. It’s only time it will take.
Blessings and our heart desires will be ours.

Thank you jare. we have tried that option too, den don sabi me for BC and MOD sef. Hubby set don rewrite, the guy is tired.

Its just the thought that with unaccompanying spouse the score should be higher but this one wey our own no wan follow the popular theory dey make me think whether there is something we are not doing properly.

To get CLB 10 is not beans sha o.

There is nothing you are doing wrong. Either you retake ielts and move your writing to 7.5 or he re takes ielts and aim for 8777. When you are married some points are lost and they are added back if ur hubby takes ielts and has done his wes. However the amount of points added back depends on his highest qualification and wes result compared to yours.

Sometimes last month or so, I was on to using ICES for evaluating Nigerian Nursing Certificate, RN only after WES began to show their meaness. I paid for ICES evaluation, all documents got delivered August 16th, evaluation completed September 24th, document got delivered to Canadian address 2 hours ago... A month and 10 days.
ICES evaluated the RN as 3 years advanced diploma certificate!!! WES got to be kidding me with their trashy evaluation of Nigerian RN as Secondary Diploma.
Nurses in the house, use ICES.

Thanks to vickyehi, elfmannisback, and his grumpysenrudy moniker. Elfmannisback, I know you are reading this, either as a guest or under a different name... Wonder why you disabled your popular account. wink

British Council workers are not part of Nigerian Labour Congress. Private sector will usually not be affected by a public sector workforce industrial action.

Anyone? We've been trying to reach them. I guess we can assume the exam is still going ahead. Hopefully, there will be no disruptions.
Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 5 by 30watts: 7:58pm On Sep 27, 2018
It's not treated same, speaking from a viewpoint of someone who had a 5 year degree evaluated by WES.

HRgirl:

Thanks alot for your speedy response. I deeply appreciate. Please do you by any change know if a Engineering degree is treated as same too? 5years course. Is there like a list of courses that are termed professional courses anywhere so i can research? Thanks alot and sorry for the bother

Grateful.

I pray for a speedy change of circumstances for people who really need this boost.

No you can process whatever document you want at Unilag. However, WES usually requires that applicants fax the final degree certificate to them.

Either you or your husband need to max IELTS. The minimum score you need before your next birthday in IELTS (for either of you) is LRWS 8.5, 8, 7.5, 7.5. If you get that, you CRS score will be 442. If your husbands gets these scores, your CRS score will be 441. Hope that helps.
Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 5 by ddymples: 8:21pm On Sep 27, 2018
Thank you. I know the options available to us to increase CRS.

It was just the theory that applying with spouse unaccompanying will always have a higher score than applying as married. In this case, the theory no werk.

Hi Guys,
Update on OOU and WES verification buhaha,
its now Hahaha , such relief.
I went back to school yesterday to meet Mrs kaka and she was very helpful but still insisted that they had not received it.
Apologized profusely and reassured me that once she got the mail, she would respond immediately(irrespective of the strike that started today)

My persuasion to WES finally yielded fruit after a lot couple of strong worded mails to some of their top ogas.
Got WES update early hours of this morning and by 4am this morning, a contact from school confirm that my case has been treated.

WES profile has finally changed to received documents and reviewing...since July!!!

Tip to anyone having WES correspondence issues, biko, continue disturbing them.
This was the 3rd email sent to school, so how come this one got to school?

Onto the next phase, make i jump into pool with my bikini!
and those that got PPR today, I covet your early morning good news in the nearest future too!
Amen
it would end in praise.

Actually, applying with a spouse who contributed great IELTS scores and ECA; gives higher CRS points than tgat of a single/non-accompanied applicant. That theory only works because most times, the Spouses' IELTS remains around band 6 or not at all sef.
In your case, your spouse gave you a nice boost with his Masters and another big boost with his test results. You can't ditch him tongue grin
