smiley my first few days were used to curse Nigerian past and present leaders, i still secretly curse them beneath my breath especially when I read about the organised criminal gang we call government and see the BMC crew supporting them blindly. well food is cheap and surplus, transport is cheap and well organized(first time in an underground speed train for me was fun), and if you ain't greedy or lazy, you can leave a quality life (unlimited internet, fresh food, access to public parks, manageable jobs to carter for bills and Little savings) and most importantly you can actually plan your own life without government wahala, or social/religious crises no NLC/ASUU strike
which country is that bro?

Nigeria needs a revolution that the government will be scared of and attract the international peeps. But everyone is too minding their business that the polithiefcians notice and come close with a few ks to lure our votes for another 4years, and many fall for it.

This governments need to be so so on its heels and frightened to the fullest with or without the military on its side.

I live in Washington D.C, life here in America is not as rosy as people who just come here for visiting paint it, we that reside here knows that, but with hard work and avoiding unnecessary credit you can live well... education and certification in a field of interest is important..

I agree it's not easy but you can't compare it with living in Naija

Nigeria simply has no standard.

No standard for buildings. You can decide to build your house at the centre of the road, and settle the authorities with your money.

No standard for education. Its those that don't have money to sort that read.

No standard for healthcare.

No standard for security

No standard for living.

No standard for religion

Just behave as you like... Anyhow.
some ppl even build their houses on top of drainages sef.nigeria na country with no functional laws...a country u will see a uniformed police officer on duty drinking alcohol and smoking igbo.

I have been living in the US for the past 16 years now. I spend MOST of my time working day and night. Life here is easy but you need money. People don't help each other here especially when mullah is involved.

Life is set up in such a way that if you're not work shy, you won't need to depend on others for help financially. Assuming stay is legal. Your credit card can even occasionally tide you over if you can repay soonest.

Dependency of many on the few family members who are ok perpetuates poverty in Africa. Money you could have saved for your kids as down payment for mortgage in 15 or 20 years time is expended on extended relatives.

And because these monies going to family members might be 20 to 100k Naira most times (but at times far more), they might not consider it a big deal. Since it did not change their lives dramatically. But it helped to complete school fees, pay health care bills, complete rent payment, repair car, etc. So if you regularly assist 25 friends and relatives, they do quickly add up. But long term nobody will ever say you helped them in anyway.

Funny how you guys hype this place.... I have been to cape town
. Jourboug... I have been to Tunis and also visited Morroco..

I pick this two ahead of SA..

And personally I can't groom a family in South Africa... Its also a notorious place just like brazil.

Anything goes..

yemen and nigeria are on the same level. Its just a part of a yemen thats at a conflict level just like a part of nigeria is at a conflict level(north east). As for somalia dat country will soon pass us if care's not taken.

I missed Naija thou.... Naija is a country you can do anything you like if you have small change in your pocket and nobody will challenge you. Naija only good for Faaji and oshofree if you are the type.

Once you are living outside Naija, you get to charge your phone any time you want coz no power failure, you have access to basic amenities most importantly emergency response.

Imagine i called 311 last week, my friend's wife could not climb the staircase to her apartment on 3rd floor because of pain from childbirth. CFD showed up 5mins later just because it's non- emergency and helped with a wheelchair and stretcher.

Accra, Ghana. 12 midnight, Uber driver didn't run the red lights, there were no police or cars before him. He just waited for the green light shocked shocked
I looked back and other cars behind were waiting too.

Those guys are far more civilized than nigerians, rarely would they use their car horns.

No police escorts for the whites there.

All through my stay, light didn't blink.

If I had my way, I would stay.

Had my undergrad in the University of Manitoba. Lived in Winnipeg all throughout my stay in Canada before moving to Australia (where I am currently) in 2015. Been to New Zealand (neighbors to Australia) , USA (neighbors to Canada. Minnesota, New York and California to be precise), South Africa, Papua New Guinea, Germany, France, Belgium, Portugal, Spain, Cote d'ivoire, Togo, Benin, Niger, Mali, Chad, Cameroon, Morocco, Ghana, Liberia, Sierra Leone, UAE and Burkina Faso. Been on transit to other countries too

Planning to do a postgraduate study in Canada or Aussie. Intend to settle there and work after graduation.

You've spent time in both countries. Can you assess?

Cost of living, racism, job availability, better chicks.

Nigeria is only good for the rich. If you are rich in Nigeria, you only travel out of the country for relaxation or holidays. grin
If you doubt it ask our politicians. grin
They make their money and convert their street and apartment into the America you see on TV.

U.S here, lived in Canada for a while and visited Australia, Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

They are all similar but if I have my way.. I will pick Australia ahead of the 3.

One thing that is common in this 3 dollar countries. Life is easier for you when you have a permanent residence or a citizen.

Also, Stay focused and work hard. Lot of times your success depends on who you stayed with when you arrived,( like your host. )

If they are good and honest, they will show the ropes , what to do etc.

And, make sure you know how to drive and get your own car.

In the U.S especially, everyone is striving for their independence. U.S is not Europe where many people dont fancy/or dont know how to drive and live like 5 in one apartment.

Not in the U.S , no one wants their privacy to be invaded, no one wants you to inconvenience them.. so dont expect to stay in someone's house for more than 3 months unless they are your parents or close blood relatives.. even at that before 3 months is up.. Berra find your own place and get yourself a car.

Want to do my postgraduate in pharmacy.

Thinking of Canada, Aussie or US.

You've well spent good time in three of them.

How can you assess them on cost of living, job availability, standard of living, ability to find pharmacy jobs, hot chicks, racism.

Been to England, USA, Germany, Belgium, France, Luxembourg and Amsterdam. I've never been to Asia but my greatest pain is that I've never been to any other African country. I also noticed that anytime i visit home, everywhere looks dark and dirty at the airport and usually start regretting my visit. I really hope the government build airports cos we don't have any in Nigeria.

Ist travel was Europe and it was a very very nice experience. The people loved Africans. They loved that we could speak their language ( even though not fluently). The place was very welcoming and they sometimes gave us free foodstuff at the market and free rides to wherever we were going. I remember one particular woman who welcomed me into her house when my electricity was out. I needed to charge my phone but my charging port wasn't really good. She tried all available sockets just to ensure it was charging. She then began gisting me (in their language) about all her kids who were now married and were in other countries. She gave me nice fruits and even made coffee for me to drink as it was Winter. That was the day I ate the best fruit known to man. That had to be the fruit Adam and Eve ate, it was heavenly.

School was so much fun too, friendly lecturers, friendly secretary. Good learning environment. No stress, no lecturer failing you unjustly. First day of snow we all went out, played in the snow for hours taking lovely pictures.

I remember the first day we went to school without a guide. We all stopped at the wrong train station, got lost, asked for directions but due to the language barrier we were given the wrong directions so we ended up at the American embassy instead. Going back home was even worse. On our way we were already lost not knowing what train station to alight when we met a Nigerian who claimed to have been there for long. He gave us wrong directions again and we ended up lost again. We then decided we trek until we see road signs that show we were going in the right direction. That was when one of my friends sighted a saloon where she had been to a few days earlier. It was owned by a Nigerian and she gave us the proper direction home.

I had many wonderful experiences including signing authographs because some of them had never seen black people before.

My experiences cannot contain even a whole book so I'll just stop here.

Second country was UAE.

It is when you leave this country that you'll realize that Nigeria is worse than hell fire.
Nice write up ,which Europe country is that?
