Nigeria is only good for the rich. If you are rich in Nigeria, you only travel out of the country for relaxation or holidays. grin
If you doubt it ask our politicians. grin
They make their EMBEZZLE money and convert their street and apartment into the America you see on TV.
exactly it is only for rich people, in other words they have eliminated low and middle class

Hi guys. I have been to different country, but I lived in the united state where there's is freedom of life. Nigeria is a mess set up by bad leadership and I guess nothing is working overthere in Nigeria

Nice thread.. Spent time reading from 1st page to the last..

Though haven't been to any country, maybe cos am comfortable and satisfied Here.or maybe haven't really thought bout it..

But what I have to say is this.. Though Nigeria is underdeveloped at the moment. And corruption is now a norm.
Monkey no fine but him mama like am. The onlu fact is this.. Satisfaction and self contempt
In any situation u find ur self, try to be self contemped.
Even the rich also cry.
It ain't no coincidence that these 1st world countries tops in suicidal rates..
Not making any case or excuses for the countries backwardness.. But hey.. Don't worry, be happy.

Funny how you guys hype this place.... I have been to cape town
. Jourboug... I have been to Tunis and also visited Morroco..

I pick this two ahead of SA..

And personally I can't groom a family in South Africa... Its also a notorious place just like brazil.

Anything goes..
that's your personal opinion. That you prefer a country to another doesn't change the fact that it is more developed. No one is talking about grooming a family but about experiences we have had during our travels.

Living in Vancouver, BC, on my toilet as I type this. Life expensive, u work for everything u have.

Ur levels depends on how hard u work and if ur educated.

I work as a software engineer, lost my job in may but by God's grace found a job and starting tomorrow. I make good money but it's not enough to ever buy a home here.

I live alone in a pretty nice apartment in a decent part of town, I can afford anything that I want beyond real estate.

I contribute to my girls school fees so she can graduate and get a decent paying job. Maybe then I'll get married.

I also help some friends and siblings back in nigeria when ever I can.

I really should goto church more because God has always been faithful through out my time here.

There are no handouts here, alot of Africans come here and lose their way to cheap jobs and hustles.

Some work hard, stay in school, graduate, apply themselves in their careers stay and flourish.

Some come and flex and have a good time but they never last long. Sooner or later they are forced out because of immigration.

Others fall into unfortunate circumstances and are forced to leave.

There are others that get their papers but given they never graduated, they can never get good paying jobs

Moving bk to Nigeria as soon I become a citizen next year.

The idea is to land a position at Microsoft, IBM, Google or any of the big boys and transfer to Nigeria.

Hopefully somebody reads this and learns. My only regret is not graduating from school sooner. I was fortunate to finish secobdary school and come here at 16

Nigeria simply has no standard.

No standard for buildings. You can decide to build your house at the centre of the road, and settle the authorities with your money.

No standard for education. Its those that don't have money to sort that read.

No standard for healthcare.

No standard for security

No standard for living.

No standard for religion

Just behave as you like... Anyhow.
lol...nothing life standard in Nigeria even the money will spend is sub - standard imagine exchange rate... never been to any country but I can say Nigeria is a country we the youths got no hope unless we follow the bad government

Gas is not cheaper in Nigeria. But anyways it depends on the country but on most occasions that gas you pay for includes the heating system so do you own see that it's cheap?

Na 6KG i dey use for naija.. and i dey use am for 3months... No matter how gas cost reach i no fit buy 6kg 3k
the guy probably lives in a house full of squatters because in Malaysia, the price he called is for an entire cylinder full of gas, which lasts way more than he mentioned plus you just give them D empty one, they give you a full one. New cylinder and u call on the phone, they just come drop it at your place. I will never prefer Nigeria to even Malaysia.

The down side of Malaysia is, too many "uneducated" Nigerians there with wrong motives so if u legally live in KL, u will get harassed a lot by the police, always asking to see passport to confirm legal stay.

Malaysians are generally peaceful people, Nigerians there don't even try to adapt to the peace they met there.
Malaysia is a great place for tourism and studies, beautiful country and brilliant universities.

This thread is really interesting, though I don't have the opportunity to travel out yet but when I wish to travel the information here can guide me. I really want to experience life outside Nigeria. Let me start working on my savings though.

I particularly wanted to hear gist about a certain country but I have not heard, I thought our members were worldwide? Someone help me tell Explorers I have not heard from him in ages. I hope all is well?

Some people just cannot mind their own business.
And have you minded yours? Am I not entitled to my opinion? Must I adopt your myopic view?

His house is on fire but he won't leave because it is his home.

Wrong analogy. The house isn't on fire because it's still bearable. Nigeria isn't as worse as you fools are making it seems. Even if it's that worse, what gives you the assurance that you won't get a stiffer situation outside of here?

What I'm saying is that, sometimes it's better to be a lion in the jungle, than to be a dog in the city. After all as much worse as it is, we have people making it.
Besides, I'm not saying one should not go out for greener pasture, but one way or the other, you'll always come back home.

Countries I've been to include:
U.S
Canada
France
Germany
Holland
Thailand
Ghana
A few other countries( via transit so doesn't count)
U.K where I live currently and Naija (Obviously).

Generally what most people have already said is true. Nigeria is generally speaking the worse location of all of them. There's no denying or lying about it.
Nigeria is in most considerations of comparison just worse. And it's not just Nigeria but Nigerians.
It's hard to explain till you have travelled and spent at least 1 month abroad.

Nigerians are very different from most human beings on the planet. Most of our qualities are negative ones. That's why most people are wary of Nigerians.
What we do have is strong will, resilience and toughness. We are also very ambitious people. The only problem is that the ambition is chased by most to the detriment of others and their environment.

To put it another way 90% of the world's population would refuse to come and live in Nigeria if given the opportunity. While I'll argue that 90% of Nigerians would leave Nigeria if given the opportunity.

Having said all that though I speak from a position of previlege having been born in the UK myself. I appreciate not every family have the opportunity. If that is the case I'd say do your best and work hard.
Find a skill set or trade that isn't entirely dependent on government or employer support and slowly build yourself.
Despite all the flaws ,I still want to return to Nigeria and even have property back home. Because home is where the heart is despite all the dollars or pounds. That's something only time and experience can teach you.
