Hi Bro and e-family,

Please, can you shed more light on the bidding process, the dos and donts and what are the options with their respective benefits? Should I just approach my bank account officer? I just dont want them to dupe me, hence I want to arm myself with necessary info beforehand.

I am using Zenith bank though.

Thanks for your reply in advance
there is no bidding process for u. just fill a Tb form or apply for and allow ur bank to bid with their rate.. Good luck

Yes, I had invested with some amount money yesterday. I think its really cool platform to make more money instead of letting cash lay fallow in savings acct with 4% interest rate. But according to what @Barrytone said, there is no compound interest in this, you will only get an interest on a daily basis.

I have a question though. How can I ask my bank officer to let my Tbills be running on a compound interest rate?

Tick reinvest interest on the form, ask them to reinvest the interest and that will be done till your interest gets less than 100k being minimum amount that can be invested and balance is returned to your account

with the I-invest app, I guess I would have to ask them this. But asking other banks is simple while creating or filling the form for the investment, you simply tell them or indicate it.

Run from Zenith Bank. I was using Zenith but because of their low rate I had to open accounts with First, GTB, and StanBic. Currently I only use GTB but people here say StanBic is better

So basically, we walk into a bank, fill a TB form and whatever rate we are giving by the bank is what we get. You can't negotiate the rate or something?
What of first bank, what is their rate like? Thanks in advance

I never walked into a bank to open any of my 4 accounts. With technology in this 21st century, you don't need to be around to open an account, or even do treasury bills. Same goes that I've never walked into a bank to do treasury bills. In fact, long story short, I don't live in Nigeria and that's not a hindrance for me. In fact I wouldn't waste my precious time going to banks even if I did live in Nigeria.

Are you sure? My contact at Stanbic has just confirmed that the bank's bid for 364 day tenor was successful at the auction yesterday, at 13.1%. Maybe the lost bid is for someone who decided to bid for herself/himself. And the person must be a very big Madam or Bobo o, since the person needs more than 50M for individual bidding.

Just double checked with my account officer at Stanbic. Both 91 and 364 day tenors were successfully but NOT 182 day tenor according to her. Are you sure your application is 364 or 182 day tenor?

Called my account officer now and asked why my money was refunded, her first question was if I did for 182days, I told her it was for 364 and she said they got a mail and it's like only 91days was successful. I'm guessing they mistakenly did 182 for me. Imagine me moving from first bank to just witness this kind of thing. I'm not just happy
