Jaqenhghar:Why, Why, Why, do they worship whites so damn much? Is this part of Nigerian culture? it's really sad and embarrassing to black people all over. Is this a great achievement for Nigerians? The ancestors must be rolling in their graves with shame. ![]() |

Nigerians are always happy to share their culture with others. It would have been the same reaction were it an African American, Ghanian, Arabian family that did same. We enjoy it when others promote our culture. It has nothing to do with a lack of self esteem, but rather an assurance in ourselves and our culture. We don't go about shouting cultural appropriation unwarrantedly. We don't weep when others wear our clothes, because we understand we also wear the clothes of other cultures. We understand there's life beyond our backyards. The clothes look good on the white family. Really nice on both their ladies and men. They look regal, as our traditional clothes will make anyone. Beautiful. If you're not happy white men are wearing our clothes or other races, and will make an issue out of it, that's all on you. Even when we wear our traditional clothes, we still celebrate ourselves. It's not today you will see pictures of Nigerian groomsmen and bridesmaids in traditional attire litter our cyber space. We acknowledge them and move on. Same as the case here. How some people will turn it into a race bashing thing shows how much of a dark place they are in. |

khiaa:Hate will take you nowhere. The white family in question has been accepted as part of the Nigerian family they are marrying into. We are happy to share our culture with them. If you don't want to share yours with them, that's your prerogative. |

Jaqenhghar:Nigerians are still one of the most travelled groups of blacks in the world. Many have seen it, and experienced the cultures of others well. Its funny calling Nigerians unexposed. Ridiculously funny. What country are you from btw? It would be interesting to know. |

eyinjuege:Travel is one thing. Being exposed is another. When travelling is seen as a status symbol does that sound like exposure to you? Dont get butthurt my friend. If you look at the percentage of those who travel its small compared to the total population |
| Re: Oyinbo Man Practicing Some Yoruba Steps For His Traditional Marriage. PHOTOS by eyinjuege: 9:51am On Oct 06, 2018 |
Jaqenhghar:Nigerians still travel a lot compared to a lot of other countries, including the so called western countries. The % of Americans who travel is equally not as impressive either compared to their population. Save for the Europeans who used to be seamen and travellers. Nigerians are still very open to experiencing other people's cultures. Travel brings exposure to a whole new world other than yours. Travel and exposure walk hand in hand. Travel gives exposure to other cultures- cuisine, dressing, language, and general way of life. It brings a different perspective. That is what exposure is. It's not about your education, your social status. I'm not sure where travelling is seen as a status symbol, but i don't think it's in Nigeria. Nigerians travel a lot, and I'm not even talking of rich ones. They travel in search of greener pastures. Which may not be green afterall, but we travel. Especially those who have no status symbol at all at all |

eyinjuege:Going by your logic, the fulani man in the bush who travels on foot all over West Africa should be exposed and not embracing a lifestyle that has no place in the 21st century. Do you know that for many Nigerians shopping in shoprite is a big deal... something to celebrate and put up on facebook. We are talking of people who are still in awe about a white man befriending them. Do you call that exposure? |

Jaqenhghar:Some Americans still believe you live on trees, and that tigers live in your backyard. They still wonder how many lions your Samson killed as a young boy, and definitely in awe of you as a young Tarzan. If that's knowledge and exposure, goodluck to you. I still prefer the exposure we have that understands the fact that a man from Denmark is different from that from Germany. Rather than the exposure that claims Africa is a country. |

You call black Americans who wear African Garb Culture Vultures but you welcome whites with open arms. PATHETIC!!!!!! A bunch of COONS. |

Coon, bedwench or whatever name you choose to call Nigerians, that hasn't stopped us from going about our business and doing well for ourselves in the US and other countries. All ye lipstick alley ladies, hate will never take you anywhere. You hate Africans, you hate whites, you hate asians, you hate middle esterners. You hate the whole world. It takes you nowhere. The so called coons are making their impact in the same place you claim you can't make a headway. Turn your searchlight inwards. Perhaps if you could find genuine love, maybe you may be more fulfilled and not live, sleep, wake up with the white man's matter on your head. Genuine love can only come to you if you purge yourself of all hate. |

eyinjuege:[/s] When African Americans wear African Garb it's always the Nigerians who are complaining about it. You don't weep when others wear your clothes if said others are non-black. |

khiaa:We as Nigerians are happy for everyone to wear our clothes including African Americans. Don't feel excluded, as we proudly share our culture with others. I'm sure nobody on this thread has been negative except for you. That says a lot. Remove all negativity from you This thread is about the wedding of one of our own. We celebrate weddings, and dont like negativity around such a joyous occasion. That is also part of our culture, thank you. Wish the happy couple well, wish their union the best so yours may be happy too. Simple as |
