Dozie will still embezzle whatever is dropped.
I prefer this case should have gone against Diamond.
While one company is making progress, the other can swallow CBN and still be malnourished. grin

The real issue is with the areas where more of these cost (debt) has been aligned to.
In principle, an increasing debt even above acceptable threshold is NOT bad. ...as long as it's been properly utilized.
There has to to be a workable structure in place to neutralize any impact from the cost of funding debt.
Japan has the world's highest debt to GDP ratio, but is about the most SOLVENT and financially effective country/economy in the world !! ...that's because they have a workable structure in place !!
Nigeria needs to as a matter of urgency become more proactive in aligning the core of these debts with funding production, infrastructural spend (capex) and key drivable sectors of the economy. ...this is the only way to have a fiscal policy in place that can reflect positively in the larger economy. This is the only way to get our economy working again !!

The problem is with the dumb leaders and economic managers/advisers we have in place today.

May God continue to be with us !!
The Government here borrow to embezzle... huh
They already calculate the sharing formula before getting the cash.
Nothing changes.
Let a new Government come to power and Buhari will get stroke when what was looted during his time is uncovered. angry
EFCC keep saying we recovered so and so from so and so. Why then borrow a fraction of what you have been recovering huh
Is it an economic rule that you must borrow money?
You recover huge amount from Abacha, you share to faceless Nigerians, then go borrowing less than what you recovered huh
Who is fooling who?
One day, breeze must blow and fowl's asset will go on display angry

Ur right my dear !!
Well, since they (our policy makers) have decided to continue their many policy flip ups, we shall also continue to look out for our own 'policy flip in' (oppurtunities) as they present themselves.
With the current scenerio that's playing out with our debt profile, the financial services sector (banks, and by extension insurance coys) is sure to be one of the biggest beneficiaries/gainers. It will be interesting to see how the remaining 2 quarters of the year will play out in that sector, beginning with the soon to be expected Q3 results.
Time to rethink one's strategy and start planning towards aligning accordingly.

Another opportunity for arbitrage loading...
Watch that space !!

It is well.

NIGERIA STOCK MARKET GENERAL COMMENT/MSCI NIGERIA PORTFOLIO MOVEMENT - AS AT 12
OCTOBER 2018

MSCI is still in “sleep mode” as at 12 October 2018. Seems not in a hurry to do anything in the Nigerian market.

The bull is becoming bolder. As at Friday the closing volume is closing the wide gap between the 10day average daily volume from a high of negative 52.6million, difference is now just negative 11.25million. The Index closed in the region of our expected high at 32456.98 against 32463.71.

For today expected High is 32497.39 low at 32376.16.

It seems Honeywell is going to a strong demand zone, with the heavy volume on Friday, I am expecting the buyer to show up between 1.20 and 1.06 (see the marked point below), we are to wait till the price enter this zone/very close and then start advancing with a bullish candlesticks formation. Note that we are to wait till we see the reversal showing up so that we don’t end up like “Mario, in our computer game. If it jumps at the wrong time it will fall and die”.

In view of the fact that some additional information on our postings will now be added, you can check our twitter handle “Target Technical Analysis”.

Caution: This is for information purpose only. Data used are assumed to be correct. However, you may want to verify the data from an appropriate source. Also, Institutions can afford to suffer big losses without going burst compared with an individual, you cannot follow them blindly (you need to at least have some knowledge/your own plan).

N:B

1. Due to the fact so many new people are coming to this forum and may not know this use of following the “big monies that move markets”, I will be indicating why/how to use the information. This will be a permanent future of my post to reduce some comments which may prevent the people that understand the system from confusion by people who have not followed how this started. My comment for today for anybody who doubts the efficacy of following the fund is to look at my recent recommendations for the past 2 months.

2. The fund will still hold some equity, the terms of service states this. Thus no matter the condition of the market, it will not liquidate to Zero. This is an equity fund investing in the Nigeria market.

3. You cannot bear losses like the fund. The pocket of the fund is too deep. Therefore, as an individual you are not suppose to be in the market during the stock market crash. Before or during the crash, reduce your holding.

4. If you are seeing this type of data on MSCI for the first time. You may need to verify the figures. Go to my previous posts (https://www.nairaland.com/yok/posts), you will see the various sources where the data can be verified.

Loud it !!

If you know what you have and you did not buy above the fair price, KEEP CALM ! , you just bought early so you take the fall in price as an opportunity to not only have more units but to also lower your previous entry price.. if you don’t have cash to average down still nothing do you.

With CUTIX I think it was marked down for a script issue (bonus) of 1 for 1 and a dividend of 0.20k today.
...which extrapolates it down from Fridays close of N3.90 to N1.85 !! The reason for the N1.85 opening price u see now.

The biggest LOSERS will be those who bought @ last week's 52 weeks high of over N4.70 (current 52 week high after mark down is now @ N2.37)
While the biggest WINNERS shall be those who manage to KEY IN @ any price no more than today's opening price. It sold for 1.84 today... though less than the required 100,000 block volume band.
CUTIX is fundamentally sound. ...very healthy. Current price still screams of a great gap/MoS against its true value !!
Using a TTM EPS of 052k at a risk adjusted rate of 15%, fair value should compute at NO less than N3.40 !! ...which presents a juicy near 84% discount from today's opening price of N1.85.

Those who know and understand, know what they need to continue to do.
But due diligence should still remain ur 1st priority !!

Cheers.

3.90 ÷ 2 = 1.95 (1 for 1 with dividend) meaning that at current #2 plus, it is already above last closing price.

Correction:

On CUTIX, Friday's close was N3.90, so ex dividend/bonus issue price should be N1.85 not N1.75 pls.
(i.e. {N3.90 - 20k}/2 = N1.85)

Pls kindly disregard the previous editing.

It is well.

Why do you think it is at bonanza price?

Is it because of the oppressing offers available?

Edited:
On CUTIX, Friday's close was N3.90, so ex dividend/bonus issue price should be N1.75 and not N1.85.
(i.e. N3.90/2 - 20k = N1.75)
However, the stock opened at a 10k mark up price (10k higher than mark down price) ...which was why we saw a ref/opening price of N1.85
The simple interpretation of this is that brokers/MM folks may have priced it higher during pre-auction to cause the mark up. ...which also means a higher tilt on demand than supply.

It is well.
@ OGG, dividend was not paid on the bonus so the adjustment is N3.90-20k=N3.70/2=N1.85k.
