Hello mamas in the house....just a quick one so my cousin came from Lag to Abuja for her interview this morning and was ridiculously refused by one African lady at window 10. She didnt know why. Thus goes her transcript pls kindly help disect what the hell happened as my cuz is so angry.

Vo-Morning
Her-Goodmorning
Vo-Passport please
Her-gives her
Vo-Are you single or married?
Her-married ma'am
Vo-Have you got any kids
Her-No, am expectant (i mean am currently pregnant)
Vo-Okay i understand
Vo-what do you do
Her-responds
Vo-what does ur hubby do
Her-responds
Vo-have u travelled before
Her-Yes to the Uk, first was for holiday and second for studies.
Vo-when did u return and how long did you stay
She-2months ago/2years postgrad studies!
Vo-can i see your old passport
Her- gives her
Vo- kept flipping thru and starts asking stupid questions wt jealousy and said but d duration blah blah blah.
Her-yes dts the visa vignette that enabled me enter the uk before receiving my residence permit card.
Vo-kept repeating same thing as if her life depended on it (as thou my cousin is lieing after explaining to her dt d visa is just to let her in bfr receiving her biometric residence permit) upon arrival in the Uk she looked at it acted as thou she was gonna issue the visa then gv her back her passport wt the refusal letter.

NOTE-: My cousin was given a study visa vignette dt enables her to arrive in the UK then upon arrival pick up her biometric residence permit thats issued normally and legally to students by UK visa office called home office. So her course plus extra 4months validity added to student visas. Her visa was to expire 23rd of July this year and she did left on 20th to Nigeria. She didnt overstay her visa please rather she left days before expiry date on her residence permit card.

My cousin is so pissed as to why the vo wont just have asked her to bring the residence permit proof since dt seems to be her problem because seems have read here once that when they want one to bring or show a proof or document then they give another form and timeframe for the applicant to bring it. Please what do you all think is the problem here? And what can she do?

My husband and I recently obtained UK visas... Your US citizen son doesn't need to apply for a UK Visa...

No! You don't have to go with him to the visa appointment and No!You don't even have to attach his US passport.

The only thing I attached was my child's birth certificate

Yeah but I normally prefer to stay close to the hospital.

zikavonne:
Hello all, has anyone paid for visa on arrival online for baby? I am trying to do so and its compulsory to enter details of the company the applicant is investing in since the only visa type there is Business.

Please if you paid online, did you fill company information?

Did you use a foreign bank card or a local bank card?

Please for the sake of love and knowledge please I want to ask for a friend.

Is it possible for someone other than the baby's father to do a notarization(consent) letter for a child born in the US..

I said its not possible, a friend said its possible..
Just want to know..pls house help.

I doubt the possibility of someone doing that on his behalf, from my experience at the abuja embassy. The father must be present with his passport in hand along the notarization form.

The VO Believes that she will not comeback after childbirth, the way she did when she went to study in the UK and Stayed back or overstayed her visa to do her UK resident permit. They are always looking for a way to refuse people these days,so once they are not satisfied with your answers, they refuse immediately. She can Reapply,May Be another VO will look at it from another angle. Good Luck

The OP tale is not clear.
The only way her cousin could have BRP is that a legal resident with ILR or citizenship filed for her very likely her spouse. With a BRP any child born from that marriage will claim the citizenship of her spouse. And NHS covers the healthcare costs. So why would such a person want to have a child in the US. Besides she could easily have applied for US visa in the UK..i mean even students in the UK can apply for US visa from the UK and be given with no long story.
That story doesn't add up either her cousin is not telling the whole story or the OP missed out a few details.

Phew
It happened to me.

We tried renewing our Visas via dropbox and were asked to come in for an interview. We were just asked to bring our sons passport.

Only myself and hubby attended the interview and we took along our son's passport. I was going for childbirth and declared this and we were all granted our Visa's. At the interview we just explained to the VO that we were asked to bring our sons passport.

Hope this answers your question.

Dear all,

Please I need your insight on this. I am going on missionary journey in late December and my EDD is February 2019. The issue is that my visa will also expire in February too. I gathered that as long as you enter before your visa expires, you will be fine.

My question is that when I booked my ticket- Emirates, I put my return to be 6th of March Is that okay? Won’t this raise unnecessary questions at POE?. Or should I change the return to be February before the visa expires.

I don't think it should be a problem if you are getting in before it expires. If you are due in Feb. I don't think changing your return to same Feb is feasible as baby needs to be a few weeks before you depart.
I'd say leave your ticket as it is and you'll be stamped in for the normal 6 months. Just make sure all other docs are in order.

I plan leaving late Dec as well n due in Feb. Where u heading?

I need someone’s opinion on this issue please

Toopee:
I do need a clarification here guys, does being married has more certainty of getting a visa than being single?

I am single and planning to have my baby in the US , and my fiancé is the sole sponsor of the trip.

I would be going alone and wouldn’t be staying with family so, I have my apartment sorted.

WHAT ARE MY CHANCES as my marital status is SINGLE?
