Areaboy2:What is the guarantee that those ones you listed won't give him a refusal too? Canada for example can be very crazy when it comes to student visa applications. |

I guess your SOP was not convincing enough. You can re-apply. There are some important things that your SOP must address if not, you may be termed as a non GTE. Gone were the days when we mail then to speed up the finalization of visa application and get the visa same day or next. I was in Australia in 2016 and a news flash showed that someone just stole from a store...believe me, it was a Nigerian. I felt bad |

budusky05:You're right bro. Even a finance minister Adeosun absconded to UK because of forgery, Oyinbos will never trust Africans. |

You a black man darkie wan go Australia haha I laugh in Swahili!!! The main thing is that most of you that have never traveled around the world don't know the horrible reputation Africans are regarded around the world and to add to that you come be Nigerian. The only black men oyibos respect are black men with money. Do you guys even understand the kind of poverty and backwardness in this nation? See the kind of poverty around here is terrible. But the painful thing is that we were never supposed to be in this kind of situation. God his blessed us so much. The op should look at UK, USA or Canada they have better chances of giving you Visa but if na Australia, forget it. Although Australia is one country I plan on going vacation in the future. Not academic or to live. |

This is unpleasant. I can only imagine how you felt reading the rejection mail or letter. As some have already suggested, in conjunction with your prospective supervisor, defer your admission giving this reason and then reapply for the visa with well written letters that will allay their fears of you not returning. I am quite hopeful you will get the visa. This opportunity must not just slip away, they hardly come by. All the best. |

maasoap:keep thinking it is story. They are discriminating against illegal immigration from Nigerians and you can't blame them. Solution...let him build travel history... Dubai or south Africa. Make sure you have reasobable money in your personal account regardless of external funding and reapply. You will be surprised it is not discrimination. It works like magic |

Counselor123:I am very sure it has nothing to do with SOP. The op has secured the fellowship already. That's the toughest part. A faulty SOP cannot secure you a fellowship in an ivy school. The embassy guys just dey misbehave. |

rhames:We don't have the luxury of choice in these matters. I am very sure the op has been applying to all the countries you mentioned including Australia. Unfortunately, Australia where immigration is currently a hot topic offered him a fellowship. Hopefully, things eventually work out. |

1) It's the Pretoria office of the Australian high Commission. They hate anything good for Nigerians. I live in Australia and I know that! Watch out for South and East Africans, they are deadly and hate us for our ambitions. 2) Get a supporting letter from your employees saying: a) They agree to release you to improve yourself in PHD. b) Get a letter from the office of the secretary of the federation making same claims that your skills and knowledge will be useful in rebuilding Nigeria educational sector. C) Get your employees to say they expect you to return home after program. 3) Search for "Peter Dutton", Minister of Immigration, petition him telling him that the Pretoria immigration office, has once again spooled a beautiful thing with biased judgement. Give him all your details. DO NOT BE AFRAID!!! IN AUSTRALIA, KNOWINF RELEVANT LAWS HELP A LOT. READ THE MIGRATION LAW ESPECIALLY FOR STUDY VISA AND GO FOR IT! Your case should be this: Why should mine be different ![]() |

naijacann:My brother stop crying foul... No be embassy fault, it's the fault of our brothers that have gone to the embassy before us.... They promised to come back home afterwards but... On the issue of racism..... You don't just show up in another man's land and expect all off them to like you for no reason..... Some of us go there for honest jobs I agree but unfortunately some of us also go there to reck the system and clog their jails in a bid to make it big.... How many persons do you know in Malaysia right now that's there for honest legit reasons?....Some months ago, some NIGERIAN rival cult groups were reported to have clashed swords in the streets of China for some clumsy reason known to them and afterwards the Chinese authorities demanded that henceforth no Nigerian should be accommodated in any of the hotels in the city blablabla.... My point is....don't completely blame the foreigners for their strict attitude towards us, we have a share in the blame too... They are only been protective/security conscious of viruses and parasites that try to infest their country daily..... We are useless to their economy but keep brewing threats here and there when shown mercy..... If you don't like the way I treat you in my house...go back and build yours.. Simple..... It's their country and they have the right to refuse you entry if you pose as a nuisant or are just useless to them economy-wise don't interpret it as wickedness.....rather, be motivated... After all..... Our ancestors once kicked Ghana out of our country They got motivated and now we envy them ![]() |
