Cooking is a basic survival skill every human should posses. How can a human being not be able to cook? The food might not taste good or be aesthetically attractive but should be edible and edible enough to fill so you can function optimally.

Any human that can't do this, should is lacking a survival skill in my books

In the West this is not the case for some ... I have friends who don’t even own a pot not to talk of cooking .,they make rice in microwave and burn it
Burn egg too, they just make the basic food like beans on toast and even that is a struggle for some .....
Also it’s rare when you find a guy who enjoys cooking

In comparison to what society?

I think Uber eat and co are a savior . I'm thinking of using hello fresh in addition. Who has the time to be cooking breakfast, lunch, and dinner all day/all week? I enjoy cooking - but the cook in bulk on the weekend that I do is not always the answer. Some time you just get tired of doing the same thing all the time.
It's good to just get Uber, hub, amazon eat etc deliver your meals on your way home from work while dealing with traffic and runs.
