Dear Guru's in the house,

sorry I just have to ask this question as it's disturbing me.
Is it true that to measure English competence e.g via IELTS. It is judged based on the lowest score in the 4 bands?

L8
S8
W6.5.....this will be the basis for scoring
R8

Yes, to get 20 migration points, you have to score an 8 across all the four assessed skills.
For 10 points, you have to get a 7.
And no point if you sore below a 7 in any one of the four skills.

Please try to improve on your writing skills. Or maybe try another form of competency test. Cheers!

Good Day everyone.

I am a little confused on the best route to follow at this time.

I recently got a Master admission offer from Macquarie University in the NSW state so I was told to make a commencement fee of $16,865 bfr I can apply for visa.

I think I also qualify for Skilled migration in the 189 and 190 cos I have 3yrs work experience in telecoms, Elect/Elect Eng Degree, 28yrs and hoping to write PTE or ielts and I'm sure to get atleast 10points from it.

So my confusion is whether to calm down and pursue the PR or to spend that much and start my Masters in Sydney with the student visa.

I know PR takes time, and I know deep down I want to leave this country as soon as possible.

So I want ask, if after spending this much to commence my studies in Sydney, can I be able to recover the money thru working as a student? within a short time

Is it possible to pay my subsequent tuition fees of $18K while working and studying in Sydney?.

Please gurus help me clear my confusion so that I can make a wise choice.

Thank you all for the good work.

Hi all,
I resigned from my job and left Nigeria in 2013. Now EA is asking for my tax records back in Nigeria (paper document and online screenshot). I contacted my employer (one-man company) and he agreed and has also sent to me the company's tax records for the years that I was employed there. Apparently, he has no individual staff tax record for the years I was employed there and he simply told me that the company's tax records covers for all staff.

Pls is this claim true? Will EA accept this paper document and add my Nigerian job experience to my assessment?

Please help.

PURSUE YOUR PR NOW NOW

There are upcoming changes to the PR visa which may not be too pleasant.

You don't even need up to AUD10,000 to land the PR in a about 7 to 12 months based on the current processing time. Assesment inclusive.

As to whether you can pay your tuition fees as a student.
It's not impossible but you have to work through your nose, super prudent and sometimes defer some courses. When you are done with studies you still have to apply for same PR for continuity in OZ.

As a student, you have limited work hours right and running expense.

To the best of my knowledge, company tax is different from individual tax.

Do your payslips show tax deductions?

If it shows the deductions, you should have individual tax record.

If it doesn't show show the deductions, that means you have not be paying tax.

I would suggest you go to the tax office in your state, let them calculate the tax, pay and be issued tax certificate.

@vikmeek

In addition, while pursuing PR is the wise choice but

Will you have the patience?

Will you give all to have 20 points in English to increase your chances?

Will you write a topnotch CDR to get your desired outcome as you may be assessed to be electrical engineer, electronics engineer, telecoms engineer or even engineering technologist depending on the quality of your CDR?

You could defer your admission as a plan B and start the PR process.

But if you think all of the above would be too much to handle, then go for your Masters and start your PR process afterwards.

Greetings to all the gurus. please I need more clarity on this issue.
As a med lab scientist who works in a private diagnostic lab and is being paid by hand. How do I go about getting payslips, tax cert and other documents needed to claim my over 4 years of work experience.

Good evening all

Please help me understand this school tier issue and it's implication

I studied BSc Accounting from Uniben (tier 2 school I heard)
6 years work experience in same field
Can I go ahead with this PR journey?
Will my degree be assessed as equivalent of Australian bachelors?

Thanks

This school tier issue is just a way of rating schools as equivalent to Australian degrees.

A tier 1 school would be rated equivalent to Australian Bachelor degree which is 15 points while a tier 2 would most likely be rated as Associate degree which is 10 points. The duration of courses play a role too.

Accountants need 80points now to have a chance.

Calculate your points and decide.

.

If my qualification will be assessed as Associates degree then I had better not bother. From what I read on IPA website, one's qualification must have been assessed as equal to Australian bachelors before one can proceed to skills assessment. Thanks for your kind response

This whole process is not for the weak. Husband&I are still at the assessment stage; all documents complete; plan to submit to ICAA for assessment tomorrow. Our points will be 80 all things being equal. My worry now is that even at 80(using subclass 190), all we've got is a chance. Would the ogas in the house advise us to go ahead or maybe stick to Canada as the plan was to pursue both? Coz now I'm wondering what the points requirement for accountants will be by the time we are done with assessment.

Exactly, I don't really have the patience right now.

The earlier one leaves the better, so my plan is to go on with the student visa and start the or process once I land in Aussie.

Bros it's always sounds good if someone says what you are thinking or support your point of view. Australian student visa is like slavery if you had other options. Imagine coming here on a student visa your brain will be thinking different things, you think you are in a heist? come on a student visa you will face MANY Challenges. Relax and listen to smart advice student visa no dey run, in fact, now they are refusing student visa like hell. PROCESS YOUR PR unless you think you won't make it shaa but I MUST STATE THAT YOU WILL ONLY GET EXTRA 5 POINTS TOWARDS YOUR PR IF YOU COME TO AUSTRALIA FOR STUDIES.
so after studies, you will still do the same thing you are running from now. Enter here with student visa and your eyes will clear

First of all, which school did you finish from? This is fundamental if you are assessing with Vetassess.

The other option is to assess as either Ext. Auditor or
Gen. Accountant. These are assessed by ICAA, CPA and IPA.

it's a state university.

And the job of an Accountant with that of an Ext Auditor are very different from that of an Internal Auditor so I cannot select those.

Abeg advise

That is not entirely correct. I am an Internal auditor and I got positive assessment outcome as both Ext. Auditor and Accountant.

Please check the skill required for both and compare with what you do. I am sure you will find some similarities.

Rather than encouraging you to go for your masters, I was telling you that all listed above are what you may or may not face in this journey. We have people who have passed through these stages, use them as motivation and with determination you will easily surmount it.

Even after your masters you will still face the PR hurdle and the pressure on you might even be more then.

Weigh both options and the final decision is yours as nobody will tell you what to do.

You will be fine as this is a non pro rata occupation. You can also check for states that nominate it and apply for 190 as well.
