Mobilia:

Good morning Hiawatha1981,
Sister, I read this this morning and would like to say a few things if necessary.
Because this situation occurred publicly, I feel compelled to address it as so...and then I will gladly leave the subject alone.
First off, I'm sorry that you had a "time-off"....
I've had many of those too....and have questioned why, since I had not violated any of the rules.
But since the situation between me and you occurred, it would be especially easy to "blame" me. I seem to be the easy choice. But you would be absolutely wrong to think so.
This is where....my faith comes in.
Whomever did it...knows why it was done..
It actually could've been the "anti-spam bot"...
Sister...I have to honestly say that I may go and vent through my diary or postings, but if I do anything, I let it be known.
I have never (in my 16-17) months of being a member here, reported anyone on this site..
So I'd like that to be known.
I see that you "unfollowed" me...which is definitely your choice.
I've even asked people to "unfollow" me on numerous occasions....and interestingly enough only (1) person has ever done so.
I still would like to invite any of my followers to please "unfollow" me....if you feel as if "following" me is detrimental to you.
But honestly, this small disagreement could've been handled a lot differently behind the scenes.
As you have "pm-ed" others, you and I could've done so with each other to sort this out.
But obviously you nor me were willing to.
You are an American whom I was getting to know...slowly. I saw something unusual that evening which I questioned you about. I was extremely confused...and so I asked.
I didn't hide it at all.
I even wrote a "now deleted" message that stated if I was wrong, I would humbly apologize.
I don't know you from Adam...but I was cautiously trying to...after over a month of you "following" me and me not having even said a word to you.
I hate division....but I also know it takes "two" to decide to have unity.
Honestly, this looks bad to have a disagreement on a foreign website...between two foreigners.
As much as people may think otherwise, I don't desire the spotlight.....
I am just "me"... faults and all. Those that "know" me on here have seen it all....every emotion.
Sorry, but I don't know how to "pretend" on a "face-less" forum...
I don't know how to have a fake persona....and live a fake life...
That would be extremely difficult for me to do since that's not my nature.
Every interaction I had with you on here was real and genuine...
You have absolutely every right to choose who you call "friends" on here, but try to not to forget the "folks" on the bottom on your way to the "top"..
"Friends" would've encouraged you to sort things out with other "friends".
"Friends" don't rejoice when they see others in a disagreement.
It's easy to call folks "friends" without testing a relationship to see if people are worthy of that title.
Be careful how you use that term....
It was I, who introduced you to this "Foreigners" thread...and was genuinely trying to get to know a fellow American in a strange land called....Nairaland.
I extended an olive branch by even saying that we could perhaps get in touch since you said you had folk down in the city where I formally lived. I thought that was so unique.
Clearly, you weren't really interested though.
Only you know why you didn't actually want to reach out.
But I have no problem stepping back and allowing you to introduce new people into the thread....since I have absolutely no problem being in the background and I know that you may be at a different stage of life.
You have a group of people to rally around you...
But I will tell you this: I have learned a whole lot in my 40 and 1/2 years on this planet and I know that sincere and genuine people are rare to come by.
Be blessed as you continue your journey on N.L...and I sincerely hope that you find what you are looking for...
Miss Mo.bilia.

Mobilia I don't know what happened between the two of you but I can guarantee you that it's not this serious, just brush your collar off and move on, nobody is that important on Nairaland except for Alezy of course. grin grin Just kidding. Stay blessed.

ok. I am woefullly behind on coursework.
I am due to go to a family reunion next week.
I wonder if Nigerians have those. I would call out friends of the forum, last I did that, I got put in time out for spamming.

When is your family reunion, I hope you have a good time? My family reunion is in July in Montgomery Alabama and I'm excited. cheesy

Yep..he was.
Let me see if I translated this correctly?
I think you said, "Is that so?"
Am I a winner?
This made me lol while reading through.

The beauty of Pidgin is that one phrase can have more than five different meanings.
It's the tone of the speaker that simply tells the meaning.

Yeah...I kinda messed up that translation.
Lol...very interesting chart and importance of the tone...love it.
I really like the way Nigerians mix English with Pidgin English.
Gonna master it one day.

I thought as much. Lazy you! It gets really hard to free up the memory at times. I understand. Could you call me this afternoon? Please do, something to talk about. Please do.

Modified

I realised that it might be a deliberate act from your end.

I need to make it crystal clear, I do not contact friends via public forum. If you fail to contact, then, you have definitely deleted yourself. The habit of going off radar is disguting. And I am not the kind in that league. I wish you luck. Please, do not contact again if you do not this afternoon cos you will be disappointed.

Getting rid of this account. If you do not contact...pls, do not feel bad when u try to reach me and you find yourself blocked from every means of communication.

Falcon01 and LordReed,
Guys, (I'm assuming)
I don't want to derail my thread over there by making another statement on it, so I've come over here.
Just a tiny bit of advice to you both.
If you read something that I've written and it stirs up your bones to the point that you need to use profane language, or be sarcastic and demeaning then kindly move on.
It isn't that deep.....really it isn't....
Learn to engage in an intelligent and sincere conversation or just plain and simply "ignore" me.
Anyhow, as Nigerians usually say, "Is it by force" that you must comment?
My answer would be, "Of course not."
Guys have a blessed rest of the day smiley

First off, you post on a public forum which is open to comment. Next time you don't want any comments which rub you wrong, go to diary section or any other place that has comments restricted.

Secondly, you made a topic about regret to which I responded with mine. How does it derail your thread?

Last but not least, there was no insult or cuss words in my post so whatever persecution complex is worrying you, find how to deal with it and stop jumping to illogical conclusions.

Have yourself a good time of whatever time it is there.

Hmmmm....ok.
So either you are one of the following:
A. Have an alter ego
B. Have a brother posing as you
C. Have some "friends" sharing your moniker

Go back and check the comment (under "your" moniker) on my thread in the other section.
My thread is not a "rap" video...so no profane language is allowed.
Thanks buddy... smiley
Have a happy Sunday!

Lol...oh Mr. Reed.
Thanks for your reply.
My apologies to you for not specifically addressing you and my "friend".
Falcon was the one using profane language.
You were the one being "demeaning" by using the word "indoctrination".

Thanks for your advice but I'd already created a diary...back around April and posted about 38 times...so been there, done that.
I don't have a problem with you commenting; it's just that you seem filled with so much anger and sarcasm.
I only want positive words on that particular thread.
It was mainly for Christians.
I don't feel "persecuted"....saddened is more like it.
I'm just venting and I chose my thread to do it..sorry you feel uncomfortable.
That's my American side coming out. I believe in sincere expression....

Happy new month to you!
P.S. You guys are 6 hrs ahead of me.
Well beginning on Sunday (in the majority of the U.S...particularly where I live) at midnight, it'll be 7 hrs ahead due to Daylight Savings Time change.
Take care smiley

Why would you feel demeaned by me characterizing my own experience as an indoctrination? That is a sign you feel persecuted because I used a word that shows how I feel about my own experience and you decide it is a challenge to you.

Here is the positive side of my little story, I no longer fear anything and I am more thoughtful and considerate.

Happy new month to you too.

You are right (in a sense) although I still won't use the word "persecuted". That's on a much higher level than how I felt.
I think I felt that way because you have a "track record" over there for being quite "ruthless" in some of your debates (if I may use that word) with a certain group of people.

I see what side you stand on clearly....(at least).
If you were commenting cause you were genuinely seeking answers, then I apologize.
I thought you were coming for trouble.
It's difficult for me to determine (at times) who's genuine on here....

I'm of the school of thought where folks I surround myself with don't live and operate incognito.
Nigerians, sadly, (as I'm beginning to learn more clearly) have enough issues to deal with (and that shape the mentality) which result in the comments I read.
It was and never has been my goal to join a website to argue with you guys and add more to a stressed and tensed atmosphere.
Very different culture (in mentality on how you guys handle situations) from mine in some ways. Still learning here...
Thanks for this convo (even if we stand on opposite sides)...literally and figuratively.

I didn't comment to get into an argument with you. I reserve "ruthlessness" for those who deserve it, this wasn't one of those times.

I am always open to having a decent conversation, only I won't hold back on what I think about religion so some people do get offended somehow.
