Amaka herself is to blame. She goes on a facebook group looking for 'free money'...and someone gives her 'free money' What is even funny is the N5million withdrawal from the bank. On every bank I have used, the withdrawal slip has a notice telling you that every transaction above N1million is reported to the financial agencies..... Anyway....Amaka was greedy. There is no such thing as FREE MONEY....once you graduate, you work for every naira you get. 7 Likes |

Just few days ago a friend in the USA shared a similar story of his experience with me. He was down at a point and asked a younger Nigerian guy he knew for some change. Initially, nothing was forthcoming until after he called the guy again, and he retorted that he had instructed a certain chap to transfer some fund into his bank account, and that he should not worry he would soon receive the fund. On same day, he was dumbfounded after $35,000 was transferred into his bank account. My guy quickly used part of the fund for an immediate need, and later called the guy to thank him with a lot of accolades. Immediately the guy said in Yoruba "Egbon e'fara bale o", meaning "big brother take it easy", it's only $4k that is yours o. But my guy has already spent more than that, and the guy simply told him that if he doesn't want to be visited by bad boys he should refund the amount he spent above the $4k, and the fund isn"t his alone. I never got to hear how he didn't get into trouble with cops here because he had to get off the phone. Normally, any transaction above $10k into a bank account is usually tracked by state security officials. People be careful o. Awoof dey kill o. 1 Like |

By all standards and protocols she's innocent. It's left for the bank to track the money. It's just a shame her village people are watching already 5 Likes

drealzum:really? You don't know why he did it? Okay.. He is a fraudster who got to hack into a company's account, if he transfers the money to himself or anyone who knows him, the fraud can be traced back to him and he'd get arrested. Now, on social media, there are a lot if people who want free Money regardless of where it comes from so the guy promised her free money which she wanted from a total stranger. Note that she doesn't know him or where he lives and she only knows the name he gave her which may not be his real name and phone numbers can easily be discarded. So this is the smart thing he did even though it is a crime... He set up a meeting with her, made her feel comfortable, took her account details, while he was with her, he hacked into the companies account and transferred 5M to her and pretended it was a mistake so they went to her bank and withdrew the money(the fraud will not be noticed immediately so the bank won't be alerted yet) which she gave to him in cash. He rewarded her with 100k for the trouble she'll enter because by the time she gets arrested, he'll be nowhere to be found even though he might still be in the city but then, she doesn't know his real name or have his real phone number, she doesn't know where he lives so she can't lead the police to go and have him arrested. He can easily go to his bank and deposit 4.9 million naira in tiny bits and nobody will suspect him and he has no feelings whatsoever for the girl so it won't be hard for him to endanger her. Hope you understand now? 14 Likes |

Beremx:how do they intend to do that especially in Nigeria? While the girl obviously is innocent and they guy a scammer, they can't find him. She has no way if leading them to him. She doesn't know where he lives and the obviously used a fake Facebook account and a fake number. The police is also being very unprofessional because she did nothing wrong but receive money from someone she didn't know is a thief. 2 Likes |
