-POLARIS BANK (formerly Skye bank)
- UNITY BANK
AND
- DIAMOND BANK.

Yes I remember !!

Even up until the last 48 hours, the likes of Bloomberg and Reuters are still reporting of a possible fund injection from an unnamed foreign entity. ...with the deal pursued and brokered by the banks biggest core investor- the Carlyle group.
Given the small source at my disposal, I prefer to believe the reports from these foreign media houses than this news of an acquisition by ACCESS BANK from our local dailies.

Again I think the management of DIAMOND are up to something.
Best to watch 'the series of this movie' from the side line.

That said, here is a brief of what we've heard in the last few days;
There is presently a serious board/in-house tussle. ...with key stakeholders divided along interest lines.
In retrospect, the banks biggest core investor- the Carlyle group pursued and brokered a deal to recapitalize the bank by another foreign entity (for which they have an interest)
But some key drivers of the board are kicking against it. (the MD/CEO at the forefront of that, with his refusal to bulge to a few conditions, including but not limited to the timeframe within which he should step down)
While there are still members of the board who are in support of the said deal (fund injection by an unnamed foreign entity), there are also others who are against it.
My source says that the core of the last board members who recently stepped down (including the chairman) are among those in support of the move.
...no wonder the many denials, misrepresentations and misinterpretations from even among the key members of the board.
So basically, its a divided house !!

We shall wait out on the side line to see how the 'series of this movie' unfolds.
