It is just very unfortunate when it comes to the directions of this country. Blame game instead of facing economy realities. Another devaluation looming again but time will tell. Everyone should just be careful with his/her hard earned money. Too many Pharaoh in the wilderness. Just an opinion...

Another official recession around the corner if the oil price continue falling. When official recession join real recession. I wonder what we will have.

NIGERIA STOCK MARKET GENERAL COMMENT/MSCI NIGERIA PORTFOLIO MOVEMENT - AS AT 14 NOVEMBER 2018

For today expected High is 32,336.61 low at 32,035.49

As to my observation on the support level for Diamond, the level around NGN0.71 looks more like the next target. However, we need to see the price action as the price gets to this level to know whether it will hold or not. Ordinarily this type of equity should be avoidedin view of the recent negative news.

In view of the fact that some additional information on our postings will now be added, you can check our twitter handle “Target Technical Analysis”.

Caution: This is for information purpose only. Data used are assumed to be correct. However, you may want to verify the data from an appropriate source. Also, Institutions can afford to suffer big losses without going burst compared with an individual, you cannot follow them blindly (you need to at least have some knowledge/your own plan).
N:B

1. Due to the fact so many new people are coming to this forum and may not know this use of following the “big monies that move markets”, I will be indicating why/how to use the information. This will be a permanent future of my post to reduce some comments which may prevent the people that understand the system from confusion by people who have not followed how this started. My comment for today for anybody who doubts the efficacy of following the fund is to look at my recent recommendations for the past 2 months.

2. The fund will still hold some equity, the terms of service states this. Thus no matter the condition of the market, it will not liquidate to Zero. This is an equity fund investing in the Nigeria market.

3. You cannot bear losses like the fund. The pocket of the fund is too deep. Therefore, as an individual you are not suppose to be in the market during the stock market crash. Before or during the crash, reduce your holding.

4. If you are seeing this type of data on MSCI for the first time. You may need to verify the figures. Go to my previous posts (https://www.nairaland.com/yok/posts), you will see the various sources where the data can be verified.

I wonder who replied that email. I guess the person is meant to say that their server remains secured and not the browser interface...

But the issue here is that someone sitting between the end user and the server can see credentials in clear text. No encryption. Peradventure an issue happens, Morgan will surely blame it on the owner of the credential forgetting they failed woefully.

Naija we hail thee.

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by onegentleguy:
It's important to strike a proper balance with our fears on the issue of our currency's volatility against the green back, and the plausibility of a likely devaluation.
In my view, any likely factor from this(including a devaluation) wouldn't be in the near term !!
Yes there are risk with the current rate of fall in our reserve due mainly to concurrent fed rate hike and the wave of political uncertainties surrounding the forthcoming elections, but the Naira, though a bit shacky has remained relatively strong despite the current outflow of foreign funds. It is not for nothing that the Naira has done much better than most frontier and emerging market currencies.
Again, our reserve capacity isn't down to a worrisome level just yet. Suffice to say that the forthcoming eurobond issuance by the FG will add about $3B and beef it up to $46B+ from the present $43B+

...a quick math;

Our external reserve of $46B post eurobond issuance means that we are still at least 30% above M2 (broad money supply), given that our minimum external reserve adjusting for risk should be no less than $25B.
...the interpretation of this is that given current economic indices, our reserve position is still outside risk boundaries.
[(30/100 X 25) + 25 = $32.5B ...which is approx 30%]
I would've been very worried if the current price of oil is below our fiscal benchmark and/or if present key indicators are totally inclined to a bearish oil market in the short-mid term.
...but this isn't the case.
Yes oil price had been on a downward trend in days but it has remained relatively stable and still well above the 2019 budget benchmark. ...I also believe that price will very likely hover around the inequality range of X>/=$60</=$80 in the short-mid term. Technically, current bearish posture is also near a rebound zone.
Elsewhere, I believe the current rate increament in the fixed income market space will be supportive of the Naire by helping to cushion the degree of impact on Naira denominated assets and curb the likely gap of inflow to outflow of foreign funds in the near term.
...our foreign brothers still love it here !!
So bottom line is; Economically, we are not in a very healthy position but we are also far from been in a sick one.
...there's absolutely no need to panick.
With the NSE, I believe that any negativity may have already been priced in !!
NOW IS THE BEST TIME TO KEY INTO FUNDAMENTALLY SOUND COYS THAT PRESENTS A GREAT DISCOUNT FROM THEIR INTRINSIC VALUES !!
I have since said that the financial services sector(banks and by extension insurance coys) and a few select coys in the oil and gas space are well positioned to benefit from the current economic play in the country.
It is in TIMES like these that the REAL money is made.
The KEY to wining is to ensure u are well positioned to reap from those inflows once they begin to trop in in their Nos.
Remember; They usually do like a thief at night !!

...my 2 cent.

Were you expecting them to say otherwise? Leave it shaa. Hackers have very important deals to do other than come after Nigerian Brokerage company. How much will they make off that?

If they say there's no problem, why spend money buying ssl certificates for their website?

No cause for alarm though. I was only trying to explain to Madam what could happen. But if you see your online banking website turn from https to http, flee and do not enter your credentials......
You made sense.
