Assuming APC wins in 2019...by 2023...Iboland would be in prime position for the presidency. So...christian-muslim as usual.

Tinubu is also dropping 'hints'...assuming he runs, it would most likely be with a Chrsitian deputy (Yourbas are not into religious divides).

Then again...the MKO-Kingibe ticket of 1993 did get a lot of support from CAN and many Christians against a Muslim-Christian ticket...but that was because their party...SDP ....was seen as symphatetic to Christians. El-rufai did no wrong in picking a Muslima as his running mate. Democracy of course is a game of numbers and there is nowhere in the constitution that says he can't choose a Muslim as his running mate. If the southern kaduna people feel shortchanged or whatever, they have numerous options to choose from.

1. They can vote against El-rufai since they hate him so much. Opposition parties are there, they can decide to rally around one opposition party and vote for the candidate. And just maybe, El-rufai might lose the election.


2. They can get their own christian-christian candidates and immensely vote for them. That should be as simple as ABC. Since some people said indigenous christians in kaduna state constitute about 50percent of the state's population. So why are they crying foul?


Anyway the reality on ground is, the southern kaduna folks can never decide who will be become the governor of kaduna because their numbers just don't add up. El-rufai don't really need their votes to win the election and everybody knows this fact(well except for silly people who don't know anything about kaduna state). I also love what El-rufai did. Yeah they said they hate him so much and El-rufai gave them the middle finger. Funny, there isn't anytime to love thy enemy.

With regards to the bolded, its a matter of political structure.

They have given themselves more local governments and by far more polling units. Elections are won by number of polling units control. They have a lot of ghost PU's that they can just write results for them and no one will know. Their population is bloated. Their women hardly go out to vote leaving the voting results in the hands of husbands. This creates a homogeneous result such like Kano in most Hausa/Fulani areas.

We also have lots and lots of christians in the elRufai government trying to satisfy their stomachs. Such people will not allow for a complete homogenous voting in the south.

Hadiza Balarabe is from my own local government. Her tribe is one of the 2 largest in the LG but a large majority are Christians. These Christians will be voting for el Rufai because the deputy governor comes from among them. The LG chairman is also that tribe and a staunch elRufai supporter.

Finally, the extraction of this tribe to these places is a handiwork work of the President Buhari's Admin officer who is from this tribe and also a Muslim. What hurts me about this is that this local government didnot enjoy any single thing from the government of elRufai. We didnt even have a single commissioner while other LGs had 2. This local government had been the most marginalized in Kaduna state, never had an ambassador, minister, Deputy governor, Senator and even House of Representatives member. This local government doesn't even have a bank. It is a the true liberal local government Kaduna is named for and devoid of religious crisis affecting most of Southern Kaduna. This caused a lot of Hausa/Fulani settlers, intermarriage and locals accepting Islam. It is one of the 2 elRufai won in 2015. With all these, it seems elRufai suddenly recognized the marginalization of this local government but I know better, he is cunningly stigmatizing southern Kaduna. Telling them they are nothing. Its like giving a thirsty person water in a basket.

There have not been harmony between northern and southern Kaduna which has resulted into violence of recent claiming lives. El rufai is fueling this violence more by opting for Muslim- Muslim ticket.
