Same thing that happened when I applied, after the long wait, I ended up with the 221g. All the best.
Sorry to ask, were you rescheduled after picking a date by the embassy?
My wife is in the same 221g ish, but we planned her travel for March, 2019 but the earliest follow up interview date was 28th May 2019.
To the house, what can we do in this case?
Thanks

If you are eventually going to Canada, then I do agree with your Husband. Firstly, as you are moving to a new (developed) country, you really do need money to settle down and possibly provide your needs for up to a year (to be on the safe side)... so putting millions down on a missionary journey at this time may not be a very good idea.

Secondly, I know that it's great to have triple citizenship, however, you do need to remember that one "disadvantage" of a US citizenship is FATCA (has been extensively discussed in previous parts of this thread)... infact, American citizens living abroad are renouncing their citizenship over the "tax" burden of being American... see this and this...

However, because I am neither an American nor a Canadian, I decided to check if this question has been answered on quora and I found this

The choice lies with you and I sincerely wish you th4 very very best
This is fearful. I will look for the right thread to discuss this thoroughly before I make my final immigration decision.

Does this mean that if I decide to still work in Nigeria as a citizen of the US I will still need to pay tax to both Nigeria and US? How much go come remain for my salary? undecided

I don't want to derail this thread but you can find out more about the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA)

is it possible to wait and see if earlier date will come up before scheduling follow up interview or the dates move further like the normal interview dates?

Mamas,

Please for those that gave birth in newyork, how long does it take to get LO’s birth certificate. What am seeing on their website is from 3 weeks upwards. Can one go to their office at Manhattan to collect after 1 week?

Thanks all

you are about to attend an interview?
and are heavily pregnant?

if yes to both...get evidence that you have made arrangements for your medical care and that you can afford that care and that you plan to return....doctor correspondence...appointment letter....statement of account...vacation letter from employer...budget sheet...read up here for details

if you look just a few pages back ...you'll see that you also need to show you paid for your baby in 2016 with itemized bill and receipts etc...that's the most likely reason for 221g and interview request.

@mamaroon
thanks so much for you feedback.

Please, can a baby travel with just birth certificate and a letter from the parents giving grandma permission to fly to Nigeria with the baby? No ETC or UK passport for the baby because both parents are not British.

Hello House, Good evening.....5 months later I keep getting emails from US Anaesthesia that I'm owing after paying $1500 on delivery day to enjoy discounted rate. I called them today and was told they will investigate and I should call back Wednesday. Has anyone experienced this before? I was given a hand written receipt by US Anaesthesia.

Please help

No!

Every living human being needs a passport to travel by air from one country to another.

What are the different answers you have? Out of all of them, take the one that is the truth as to why you want to give birth in the states.

There are actually other travel documents with which one can travel internationally but they often generate issues.

Hello house and Good day to everyone here. I had my interview today and wasn't given a visa. Application was for vacation and not birth. The officer said that I need to find out what happened to the payment adjustment on my itemised bill. I was so sceptical on taking the bill but eventually decided to and that was what the officer capitalised on.
No other question was asked and she only requested for my passports and medical receipts.

On my itemised bill. There is a huge discount which they called payment/adjustment compared to the exact medical expense that was incurred. Actual medical expense which I have receipts for was about 8k5 ( VD) while the total amount on the itemised bill is 29k. How do I reconcile this difference?

I gave birth in Atlanta medical center in 2015 and there was a cash payment agreement which was signed by me and the hospital for the cost I paid. The agreement also clearly stated that I will not be using any Medicaid for this purpose.. but then the visa officer said that wasn't suffiecient enough. I had zero balance receipts and letters from both the hospital , pediatrician and doctors stating that I have no outstanding payment.
I also noticed that there were some services which I paid for separately and was way overstated on the itemised bill ...like anesthesiologist fee and also items like pharmacy alone had over 8k USD. Is it possible to get itemised bill that will tie directly to what was paid?

How do I proceed from here my people.

For a 3rd party to travel with a minor you must have the following:-
- Child's birth certificate
- Consent letter duly signed by both parents and international passport biodata page of both parents.
If either or both parents are dead then you post produce death certificate(s)
In the case where there is a divorce you must produce consent from the other party who doesn't have custody of the child.
In addition
The child must have valid travel documents for the country of travel in this case
Valid international passport with Visa or Visa on Arrival if not a Nigerian
Or Nigerian international passport or ETC as a citizen

Hello good day house. I got my visa on 2016 purpose was conference which I attended. Got married 2017 and had my daughter at west Houston medical center. My hospital bill was discounted cos I was selfpay. I paid 3000$ for hospital bill. When I got the itemized bill I noticed that 14,919$ was discounted from my bill. And also got an email that my baby lab bill was 2,756 after discount paid 360$. I get this discount when I tell them I’m paying cash. Now with what is going on the VO denies you when you get huge discounts even with the zero balance receipt. My question is should one call the hospital, reach an agreement, pay an extra 4000 or so? Then get an itemized bill stating you have no discount. I think that way the V.O will feel much better and grant you visa and also when going to the USA stay away from discounted hospital. I paid my my doctors bill 2600$ epidural 1500$ Thanks.

Both bills still indicates that you owe the hospital stating from the account balance even after the discounts.

sorry ma'am...this seems to be the new trend for a lot of people....dropbox..... 221g....itemised bill/reciept....VO sees discount.....reject.....i wonder if it's now a directive....or if people have just been jamming the same VO.

....I'm not sure you will get an itemized bill that will not show discounts....check with the hospital though....and pray while trying again....

So that means some hospitals have been flagged then.

Maybe these hospitals go back to collect the discount from the government and that is why they are being flagged

priscai:
We had same issue yesterday my husband was turned down cos of discount on itemized bill, I had my baby the first oakbend and second west houston, the Vo said they dont have problem with oakbend not withstanding the itemised bill shows same discount like the one we got from west Houston but the west Houston discount was on red flag.
Meanwhile I was so upset yesterday that I put a call to the hospital for suggestion and reason of denial linked with using west Houston, we as well send them a long e mail, it wasnt funny at all all.
They lady said they got a lot of calls these days on that they are working on it, meanwhile they have a new letter which addresses this purpose and if they be any reason of doubt the embassy should give them a call.

I am yet to get this letter for them as she promised sending it today.
I advice u give them a call too so they can put your request in line with others as we await their response.
