God said to Moses at Exodus 7:1 "i have made you god to Pharaoh" of course Moses wasn't a false god, neither was he to be worshipped. So what does that statement connotes? Moses will become the one RULING Pharaoh by forcing him to change certain orders and nobody dare stand before Pharaoh to do such expect the deities that he himself revered back then. Therefore Moses becomes the one giving orders while Pharaoh is the one sitting on the throne, that's exactly how people fear the deities much more than a mortal man!
Moses later told the Israelites that God will raise another PROPHET like himself in the midst of the Israelites and they must all listen to him.
There are so much similarities between Moses and Jesus.
(1) Moses is the first human to perform miracles, while Jesus perform the greatest of all miracles.
(2) Moses served as the mediator of a covenant just as Jesus served as the mediator of the new covenant.
(3) Moses was alone for 40 days and 40 nights the same as Jesus.
(4) Children as contemporaries of Moses were slaughtered during Moses' birth the same as Jesus.
(5) Moses became a law giver as everyone refers to the Mosaic law just as Jesus became another law giver that surpasses the Mosaic law.
So when Moses said God will raise another Prophet "like himself" Israelites were eagerly anticipating a SAVIOR from the bondage of Roman dominance just like the way Moses freed them under Egypt! Deuteronomy 18:15
