I have been trying to book an appointment for interview at the Embassy but I can't seem to get one. I have even sent a mail to the consulate but they said I should do it on the website.

Please who knows what's going on and how I can resolve this?
Keep trying every now and then

You only use uni assist if the school says so... Check their application process it should be written there.

How long does it take to get a B1 (at least) in germany language in Nigeria? And how can you go about it if the nature of your job won't allow going to a school for it

Each school has it own Time of application duration... Check the website of the school you intend going to and know when they are going to open for application process. No you must not write the language test for some school all you need is you letter of English proficiency. This letter you can get it from the school you graduated from.. Let me add pls read previous conversations on this thread it will save lots of confusion and questions... Danke

Thanks, it is certainly clearer now.

Fabcol:
The certification of your document is meant for university application. some schools request you forward your document(degree certificate, transcript, WAEC certificate, etc) by post after applying online and since you can't send your original documents, you send certified photocopies... And the certification of these photocopies can be done at the embassy, a notary public or high court..... I hope this is clearer..

Hello guys

I want to open a block account though I'm still waiting for admission.
My question is

Which would you recommend between fintiba and expatrio?

I heard fintiba is more costly while expatrio got many protocols.

Someone on here was narrating his bitter experience with expatrio the other day.

Please I need your advice before I proceed.
Thanks

Yes you can, I have a couple of people that came in from Dubai.

They all claimed that the process (interview especially) is quite less stressful compared to the Lagos Consulate.

You can find their location and opening times (including other information you may need) here https://uae.diplo.de/ae-en/vertretungen/generalkonsulat1

You don’t apply directly to the Studienkolleg. You apply to the school and for the course you want. After checking your results they’ll decide if you could start directly or if you’d need to attend a STK.

You can actually apply directly to some studienkolleg through Uni assit and some also accept direct application, if they still do it.

When booking appointment is there a session one will upload scanned documents?
Unlike when application was via mail, and we needed to attach our docs in the mail.

I've noticed that job experience has a role to play in your motivation letter, particularly when it's very much related to the prospective field of study. I'm seeing that it's a huge plus.

The thing is I've been quite unemployed for a long time, as a matter of fact the Last job I had was bank marketing, completely unrelated from my field of study.
I'm thinking about lying on my cv, by randomly picking a company in Nigeria that fit my prospective field of study to give me an edge. Now the thing now is...

1. Do the schools verify those information ?

2 does the German embassy verify the information too if one magically gets through the school.?

I need advice on this cos the huge gap on my cv due to unemployment is annoying me.

Hi
In my opinion, I’ll say some programs doesn’t require that you have a professional experience prior to the degree. But even if it does...

Look for things you have done that can translate as experience in that field. Think outside the box... why or how is it that being a stay-at-home mum is an experience in the developed world? That you can be taking care of kids and doing other things means you are a hardworker, you multitask and so on...

Just identify things you did that will be of benefit in that field of study. It’s better not to lie. You’ll need to keep lying to cover up one lie. This will blow up eventually. You wouldn’t want something as meaningless as that cost you your future. Be yourself and tell the truth. Remember you’ll say these to the VOs eventually. They are trained to look out for lies.

You can start looking for places to volunteer. This will say a lot about you. That you are after helping people than after monetary gains in full time employment...

It is the same thing and from what I read there, you have nothing to worry about so long as your sponsor is getting the SL from Germany and not applying for it from them (UAE).

Being a follower of this thread for almost 6months I have gotten some and quite vital info that has helped me.

However, this thread is quite one-sided (from Part 4) considering it started as "General German Visa Enquiries" but now more "...Student visa enquiries". While some of us are looking for either Work permit, entry visa (blue card) or family reunion, it's quite hard to get answers to questions like the process of verifying documents for the family reunion, general support, general information, when you get to Germany what you need to do before you begin work etc.

I almost fumbled during my appointment about a week ago as the guy at the gate was asking for documents not listed on my checklist for entry visa (blue card) but as God had my back, the guy at the gate gave me time to go print the documents because I told him I have them scanned in my drive.

Been searching through Nairaland but couldn't find any thread that is focused on German Work Permit or Blue Card holders or family reunion to follow and get more information, I'm sure there are work permit/blue card holders in here already living in Germany that can help with some information and answers to our few questions. I've seen some questions on this thread related to it but it gets lost amongst the student info.

Please, if anyone got a link to a thread that covers the category of long-term German visa on Nairaland kindly share with us. The German website is very informative and helpful but also getting feedback and the first-hand experience from people who had gone through this before will also prove to be very effective.

Thank you

Good morning Sam,

Could you please share the list of documents you had on you and the extra ones they requested at the gate? It would be of great help.

Thanks.
