Lol, but I thought we’re to send the IHS payment receipt and visa fee receipt to Sheffield with the supporting docs. I want to be sure it’s basically a printout of email they sent after paying those things.

You take this email payment receipt to TLS for your biometrics appointment.......

I cannot express my absolute thanks enough to everyone here especially oga Lexusgs, justwise and everyone who has taken out time one way or the other to share experiences and advises.

Here is my timeline:
24th September 2018: Submitted application online
27th September 2018 (Earliest date): Bio-metrics
17th October 2018: Documents received
7th of November 2018: Hubby sent an email asking for update, and we got a response saying a decision has been made (apparently, I don't think a decision had been made then as I got a request for additional documents few days later and a not-straightforward email also)
14th November 2018: Request for additional documents (You have submitted a degree certificate from Covenant University along with a UK NARIC Certificate confirming your qualification is the equivalent to a Bachelors degree in the UK. In addition, although you have submitted a letter from the university confirming the course was taught in English, we require a UK NARIC certificate confirming that was the case. Please contact UK NARIC to obtain this)
14th November 2018: Not straightforward email received
16th November 2018: Additional document sent via email to the specified email address (after contacting UK NARIC, they confirmed that I only need the English language assessment to back up my already submitted statement of comparability. NB: To avoid plenty wahala for new applicants, jejely use UK visa and nationality if you are using the NARIC route)
16th November 2018: Email from Sheffield confirming receipt of additional documents
22th November 2018: Decision made email and passport ready for collection email from TLScontact (decision was actually made on 19th of November and vignette valid from 26th of November)
29th of November: Arrived in UK to my husband and the very cold weather (30degrees to 4degrees is the the real definition of culture shock)

Congratulations!! Welcome to UK..

Hello all,

My partner recently migrated to the UK and she's been hounding me over coming over since. Promised her I'd have a look and here I am, a Fresher cheesy. Just read all of Mr Readynow and Mr Phoenix77 application process, I was already dreading telling madam about the 6months wait and additional 12 weeks decision period when I stumbled on Mrs Mzapplication chronicles as well.

Now, I'm utterly confused and seek the advice of the lecturers and profs here; she's on a Tier-2 (General) Migrant visa, I can't recall seeing a Leave to remain or limited leave to remain.

Should we consider the PBS option or the Spousal one. Madam lolas89 and Mr Readynow I believe, both got a positive decision despite having spouses who weren't citizens.

Thanks

Prospective Graduate.

If she's on a Tier 2visa, then you need to apply as her dependant. Here is the official website for reference https://www.gov.uk/tier-2-general/family-members
My partner went through this process last year, for your reference this is what we submitted for the application
https://www.nairaland.com/2655931/general-uk-visa-enquiries-part/477#69102226
The entire process took us 3 months to gather all the required documents, however the visa application itself took just 14 working days.

Thank you very much for the response! I had indeed seen your post during my research last night. Hugely surprised and awed you still replied here.

There is a little matter though, we're not *legally* married yet, while we have cohabited for a while we both agreed to keep formal marriage conversation off (yeah, sounds strange, imagine Nigerians. Hahaha).

However, due to the need, we've both agreed to do the registry to show prima facie. I would like to ask; how soon after that could we apply for my PBS visa ?.

Thanks
Re: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by nomad26: 2:40pm On Dec 10, 2018
As far as I know, there is no official requirement on how long after marriage you should wait before applying.
In fact your situation is quite similar to mine as my partner and I only decided to get married so we could live together in UK even though we had been together for years. In our case, we applied two months after our registry wedding at Ikoyi.
The important thing is to have documented evidence of your relationship - photographs, emails, whatsapp messages/calls, etc. We submitted 3 years worth of whatsapp logs (just a few per month) and also pictures going back 5 years. This helped prove that our relationship was genuine.

I was approached by a couple, about 2 months or so ago. They made a spousal visa application, application was refused (not students of University of spousal visa).....

I took it to heart to fight this case.............

Got a call from them today, screaming on the phone and very excited.....

And this was why......

NB : Before they approached me, they had engaged the services of a solicitor for a fresh application, but not committed. I encouraged them to withdraw engagement, they felt sceptical initially, but whoever asked them to get in touch with me, gave them some sort of confidence..... Imagine the cost of a fresh application?

Yes I've done my NI interview and GP registration, i was able to do the NI interview because i printed the email between me and the home office and my hubby also wrote introduction letter,I could not do my provisional licence because of my BRP. I received my BRP today, I was given 2 years instead of two and half years.

How much did they charge you for NHS surcharge?
Hello Priprygroup want to use this to inform you that you are supposed to get 33month on your brp card, not 2 years, it a mistake on their part please log into home office website and report the issue to them they will issue you with another card. The guys working in home office are prone to errors like this and one is advised to return such. if you dont act now it will be a problem when you apply for extension of your leave to enter and for your ILR so please log the complain on home office site and you will be ask to return it and another one issue at no fee .please kindly pass it accross to her. Please report any mistake on your BRP the sightest mistake can count against your later

Lexusgs430:

You can use any registry of your choice in Nigeria. Ensure they issue you a local government marriage certificate and take pictures backing the registry insignia....

You cannot apply for a spousal in the UK, while on a visiting visa. You would not be granted a marriage licence. Marriage would have to be conducted in your home country.....

Best to apply via priority application, if the extra funds is not too much financial stress and also depends how quickly you want to be in baby's arms.......

Please lexusgs430 this is bery urgent. Are you saying that a marriage can be conducted at ANY LOCAL GOVERNMENT REGISTRY without any cause for alarm? I ask because I read about the court ruling on Modified certificates that don’t meet-up to the Form E guidelines. Please I would really appreciate your prompt respsonse.

Thanks.

If Sambisa forest has a recognised local government registry office, yes......

It does not only have to be Lagos or Abuja.........
