Good day all, Nice work y'all doing here. I appreciate. Is it advisable to apply for PhD directly with a BSc. ? Most of the schools/courses I am interested in mentioned only PhD programs (for roughly 5 years). I have sent emails to some of them asking if these programs are Integrated (MSc + PhD). And also, I am thinking towards this because of funding available for PhD studies. 1 Like 1 Share |

Hello house. Pls, i need your help on this. I'm on leave from work and I would want to apply for a Portuguese visa as a tourist. I have a little traveling experiences(Dubai n 2 other East n south African countries) and a 6 months salary account of 400k monthly. I don't intend going through agents. My employer is ready to supply the papers I need and they've asked me to list them but I want to be sure of them as I intend submitting my Visa application at the VFS office in Lekki next week. Are these papers below what I need: Offer of Employment. Letter of Introduction. Letter of self introduction Letter of Consent Leave letter. PAYE Tax clearance. Health insurance, flight booking, hotel reservation, pay slips for the last 6 months and work ID card. Pls, informed travelers of nairaland, is the above all I need? Kindly advice, pls. NOTE: do I have to fill the form online or print it out and then fill with a pen? |

First, this thread is for US Student visa. But to answer your question, you seem to be fine with all the papers on your hand right now. There must be Application form to fill. Search for this on google: Application form for Portuguese Tourist/visiting Visa. Add your bank statement: Good luck. Bfoundation: 1 Like |

Was at the Lagos Consulate for 6:30 am interview today. It was a first time though .Did documentation checks, security checks and biometrics. While on the queue I was startled when I saw the line before me where all blue and three guys ahead of me where blue....This is what ensued? Pefuele: Good Morning Vo: Bone face no answer and she said please give me 3minutes.She sipped her coffee... VO:I-20 and pass port. Pefuele:I passed it. VO:Were you admitted to other schools? Pefuele:I was startled a bit cos I expect how many schools did you apply to.However,I composed my self and responded Texas A and M university,Kingsville. VO:You are going for sustainability studies? What is sustainability studies? Pefuele: Sustainability studies means meeting the current needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs...Naija is growing in leaps and bounds and ....started going off rail a bit. VO:why did you choose EIU.I choose EIU because they gave me my specialised course since it is my area of interest.TAMUk is more general course..Then she asked :why did you choose a general course when you have a specialization? I answered it was a general course but Sustainability is part of courses I will take but EIU is more specialized.I had another point on research I wanted to add but at this stage it don fly for my mind. VO:Are you Married Pefuele:Yes Who is your sponsor:My dad but my uncle is also a co-sponsor.She gave me one strange look.I they think in my mind this small babe just dey frown....no even white paper on her table nah only stacks of blue paper I see.Abeg where dem dey keep the white papers ooo Vo:How will this masters help you? Pefuele:Nah so I start saying funny things oooo..I currently work as an engineer at Xxxx Limited .Part of my course is quality management Didn't rehearse well this area.Obviously,I really don't like to cram but understand what I read.Probably the VO countenance frieghtenened me ... Please help critique so that I can re-fire?Thanks! 1 Like |

Is it editable PDF or just plain? Letter of introduction should be from employer, stating you work there and you plan to travel to Portugal and they are aware of this plan. Letter of self-introduction is for you, written by you, addressing and stating purpose for which you are going to Portugal, duration of stay, stating where you would be staying, and indicating you have more than sufficient funds the travel requires. Do you understand? JUSTWISE? I am sure he's already here. Bfoundation: |

Nutshell44:Yeap you are spot on. However, this is actually the first point I wanted to tell the VO but changed my mind before I went to the window: I chose the school because of a research interest on biomass gasification by prof Xxxx. The Prof is an astute academic in biomass gasification of Sustainable energy plant and I was interested in this research because it offers solutions to the energy crises in Nigeria. The research addresses the lower gas supply common to power plants in Nigeria and will afford me the skills and knowledge to offers solutions to my work place in the short term and Nigeria as a whole in the long-term.This what I had in mind as first point but I changed it to second just before the interview... This is actually why I chose it initially. Can you help critique that?Or may be help with anything I can add. Thanks |

Pefuele: How about what the master will do for you. You said it yourself that you didn’t prepare well for that part. Work on that part. I don’t think there’s anyone on this thread that was told how to answer why they chose a school. Someone that’ didn’t choose the school can’t tell u about the school |
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 14 by Pefuele(m): 6:45pm On Dec 06, 2018 |
Nutshell44:.. Yeap, but I can ride on knowledge of someone that chose the school and probably the same course. You may have a better knowledge that is why I am open to ideas. On what the masters will do for me:Yeap,I lost my train of thoughts. But is what I wanted to say: I currently work as a Senior Service Engineer at Bleep Nigeria limited.I face problems such as power issues that damaged board, delayed in spares and quality assurance to meet the needs of customers every day.Courses such as total quality management, environmental policies, logistics and supply chain management and biomass gasification and renewable energy will offer me skills and knowledge to resolve those problems. Also the company I work is currently moving to a new ISO standard and demands for review of quality and environmental objectives will be required.I will also help in this capacity when I come back to Nigeria. This will ultimately lead to promotion as I help take the company to a new level. That's is what I had in mind.. Can you help critique that? Thanks! |
