Where Can I Purchase T-bills?
You may purchase SGS at primary auctions (held through Primary Dealers bi-monthly) or in the secondary market (through daily sales between PDs in the money market).

Can I Sell My SGS Before Maturity?
You can sell over the counter with any Primary Dealer. Prices may change from day to day according to market conditions, and it is important to note that you may not be able to sell for the same price that you paid for them.

How Do I Calculate The Returns On Investment?
Treasury bills are issued at a discount. Therefore, the yield that you get upon the maturity of the bill is the difference between the purchase price and the maturity price. For example, if you pay N95 (discount rate being 5%) for a Treasury bill with a face value of N100 at an auction for a 1-year Treasury bill, your yield to maturity, or amount earned if you hold the bond for one year, is (S$100-S$95) / 95 x 100 = 5.26%.
Sir Is it possible to invest 10000?

Let's compare rates and see which Bank has the highest T.bills rate.
Quote your bank tenor and corresponding rate below

A close family member got 14% from Zenith bank today for 364 day tenor. I am still baffled by the tenor as it looks like a primary market deal. Maybe CBN sold TB that was longer than 364 day tenor to Zenith and the bank offloaded at the secondary market to their customers

don't react to institutions like you would a person lol

had similar experience. went to ibtc they told me ntb is closed for this year. I said no not primary but secondary. He insisted that he checked and both were off till next year. In my area just 1 ibtc branch close by so I sharperly transferred to fbn. The officer who was handling my ntb in fbn upon seeing my balance involuntarily reacted saying "is it a transfer? " I was like what? He said nothing. All he said afterwards was "yea it's done". till the following day, no debit. lol... I just chilled... went to another branch and finally got it done.

so it's not a question of leaving fbn to ibtc. have both in case

My dear like C4LTD said, it's not about the institution, it's the incompetence of some of there staff. Whenever I get to stanbic I pray to meet a particular lady who understands TB very well , when ever I get there and she is not on sit I just know that wahala go dey...

Secondary market is sharp sharp. I got to the bank on Wednesday by 11pm , filled the forms and by 3pm I was debited same Day, If u fill the form ensure that they post it sharp sharp, if not the offer expires by 12pm, then stories begin to fly. Mind U, the bankers hate TB investors, we are bad market. They can decide to do anything to keep your money in savings or FD.

What type of account is that or were you the one that imposed such a condition?. My boss in the office has a condition on his account that disallow a transfer of any amount above 100k from any transfer source. Even online purchases.

It makes sense now where Zenith got 364 day tenor from on Thursday 13/12/2018. CBN apparently did OMO yesterday, that is very similar to the usual Wednesday primary market in terms of tenor days (91, 182 and 364)
