This is the Christmas period and some people may travel and will not want their house to be empty and at risk of holiday theft. I thought of it and since I will be in Abuja for the Holidays, I will be offering Housesitting services to anyone that needs it.

Security Training Manager

ROLE RESPONSIBILITY:
1. Manage all security training program including physical drill and parade; develop, prepare and teach appropriate security guards training programs.

2. Competency management function and other training records; conduct and/or oversee all training for the security personnel. Reporting all data entry; beat supervision to ensure training and instructions compliance.

3. Prepare compliance reports and identify areas for improvement associated with contract-specific policies, practices, and procedures

4. Coordinate, develop, deliver and manage employee training and development programs; conduct needs assessments; identify training needs;

5. Develop and/or customize training courses, content, and materials; oversee and deliver training, evaluate effectiveness and make adjustments necessary to improve training outcomes.

6. Provide regular reports to management regarding training initiatives, scheduling, and effectiveness of employee and organizational development initiatives

7. Assessment of new applicants and documentation of successful intakes/vetting

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Interested candidate must have a minimum of an HND or its equivalents

• An ex-police, military officer or paramilitary is an advantage.

• Minimum of a year security training instructor experience

• Work history must include the demonstration of the ability to coach and motivate others and to prioritize and complete multiple objectives
with little or no direct supervision

• Work history must include the ability to be proficient in various reports and technical writing for the development of procedures and
training manuals

SKILLS REQUIRED
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft office
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to research, investigate, compile information
• Ability to coach, mentor, and motivate
• Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervises and coordinate the duties and activities of the security personnel.

• Ensure that the infrastructural facilities assigned to security for the protection of the entire company are in good condition.

• Ensure that rules and procedures are implemented and strictly obeyed by all staff; customers, contractors and visitors.

• Ensure that security personnel are properly dressed in their uniform while on duty and beat instructions are strictly followed.

• Ensure and guarantee the safety and protection of lives of workers, company’s assets and visitors to the company.

• Ensure that security personnel are regularly educated trained and retrained in their duties.

• Issue and control security kits, such as the whistle, boot, and uniforms to the operatives.

• Write Weekly / Monthly security report.

• Check all security registers daily

• Patrol all beats regularly.

• Ensure proper record keeping of documents, information, and correspondence on matters relating to security operations.

• Ensure that no guard possess, sell or consume intoxicants, drugs or substance capable of intoxicating while on duty.

• Supervise and inspect all access area and potential penetrating points i.e. fences, gates perimeter walls to detect vulnerabilities.

• Maintain and enforce the discipline of security staff at all times.

• Carry out any other sundry functions and duties as may be deemed legitimately related to security assigned by the Operations Manager


Qualification, Skills and Requirements

• Minimum Qualification - OND

• 1 – 3 years’ of private security experience

• Physically and mentally fit.

• Ex-military and para-military personnel have an advantage.

• Disciplined, Confident, Vibrant, Intelligent, Analytical & medically fit Nigerian,

• Excellent communication and Supervisory skills - ability to speak fluently, read & write legibly.

• Strong and assertive skills.
