@justwise. I have been unable to secure an appointment date on the UK VISA website. The dates are simply not highlighted and therefore not clickable. I checked both DEC., 2018 and Jan., 2019. The only available date was 21st of DEC in Abuja, which unfortunately I can not make.
Kindly give any advice on how to proceed.

Regards

That simply means that they fully booked though you may be lucky to get a date if you keep checking because someone may cancel his/her application

Hello guys,
Please I am in a bit of a situation and I need some advice.

I am travelling to Nigeria from Australia on the 23rd of December to return on the 13th of January. However, I have to go to the UK(Scotland) on the 21st of January for job related conference (I live and work in Australia). I am thinking of how to go about things... Is it advisable I come to nigeria, then process my application from there? I am thinking of using the one week priority service. If I submit my online application today, how early can I get a date to be called for biometrics, and how long will it take to process after the biometrics if I decide to use the one week priority service. I ll be in nigeria for about 2weeks, 5days, so time is my major constraint.

Please advise ... Thanks

The buttons you're pressing is a survey/feedback button on how the interveiwing officer performed on your case and not your own personal assessment. Telling you to press green is just trying to indirectly beg you not to rate her low.

Doesn't make sense to believe the buttons are for your assessment of dressing or how you look. What if that's the case and they ask me to press Black and I press Green instead?

I don't doubt that you are assessed but that is done through cameras installed at vantage positions in the center.

Gideonaigbe:

I sure did my finger print....
it was after the finger print,OK this exactly how it happened.
the screen showed my number and where I was to go or biometric
I looked rough, looking for the interview room,
got there keeping a smiling face,
greeted the lady ,then she kept this serious face,
then she like don't sit stand,
then she like look up at the camera and introduce yourself, them I looked up and like hello there (waving the camera),am Gideon...then she like your full name, which I told,I said my age ,then she like your full date of birth...am like aunty u guys want to kill me here with a smiling face, she just strong face ,I continued then I said my address, then she like uncle you can sit...
sorry for all the stress...
she then told me something amazing....
she said I have been here since few minutes before eight then why am I just doing my biometrics.... I was stunned and asked how do u know?.....she said we see almost all things round the premises, then I explained how I almost cancelled to get a refund... she boldly told me I would have done it to reduce their work.....then she told me to sit upright for my visa photo....then am like my hair is rough ,I had to go out like twice to adjust my self....did my finger print, snapped my passport PIC.... then as I was about leaving she told me to press d green button close to the entrance....Now there were 3 buttons at the entrance..... green, red, couldn't see d last one,
d green button had Good ,the red had average but I cldnt see d last one
cos I was a bit rushing to leave the room.

Are you into business or an employee? Did you include the correct document showing how you earned this money monthly?

The ECO is satisfied with your available funds for the trip, the only concern is that s/he not sure if at the expiration of your trip you would be willing to come back to Nigeria because s/he not sure you will still have a source of income to fall back to.

If you're into business submit the relevant bank statements, business registration documents etc.

If you're an employee, submit letters from your office stating your rank and entitlement to annual leave as well as possible resumption date back to work.

please I was able to get a date for myself but I couldn’t get any for my little son. Can he use my date because we are applying together? Thanks
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by bigtt76(f): 7:39am On Dec 20, 2018
How old is your son? It should be fine since both of you are traveling together and all supporting documents he would need for his application are tied to yours.

Finding it difficult picking a date on the UK website, I hope this is a general website problem and not a new idea to make it hard for us to get dates. Anybody experiencing this too ?

Pls with regards to my enquiry. I am thinking of making my application here in Australia before I travel to Nigeria. Is it possible that one could apply for a visit visa, but since I will be traveling, I will take my passport alongside with me, then submit only copies for my appointment and return back for the final decision with the passport?

use the currency converter on www.oanda.com and convert across any currency of your choice. That is the converter UKVI also uses.

You need to be specific with your budget so as to tally with your bank balance, you need a breakdown of the cost of the trip.

If you don't have more than enough in your account then i don't think its wise to waste money applying for visa.

Good evening house, i want to share my experience with you concerning the judiciary review that immigration lawyers always tell people who gets refused .. there's nothing like that.. this lawyers will just collect your money without doing anything good. I fell victim nd am trying to retrieve my money back frm d lady .. i gave her 40k when my visiting visa refused.. i complained in the house nd i was advised not to do such but i 'd already given her. Below is what she gave me today as response frm British embassy.. she claimed she sent appeal to them. Please advice me.. i wish to reapply January

Thanks bro... I ve just applied and paid for the visit visa(priority). Got a date for the 28th December in lagos. However, I applied for a 2years visa and its my first visa to UK and prior to that, I ve only travelled to Australia as a PR which is where I reside. I m being told I should have applied for 6months, as a first time visa of two years will not be granted or will lead to longer processing time. I am traveling for an employer(Australian) sponsored training in UK. I am looking at cancelling and reapplying if this information is true. Pls kindly advise with your experience on this
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by bigtt76(f): 5:21am On Dec 21, 2018
You placed yourself in a difficult position. You shouldn't have appealed the decision to refuse you visa in the first instance but rather prepare ahead for a fresh application.

Now you will be scrutinized with care when next you apply and without guaranty you will get it.

Avoid all those quack immigration lawyers.

You need strong justification for you to get a 2 year visa on first application, but then as a resident of Australia, it might be possible to get it.

Bolded part messed up your application undecided do not allow deposits you can not correctly account for via your pay slip or employment contract, be made into your salary account. Forget all the crap that inflows and outflows boost your chances for a visa... It doesn't.

All ECOs want to see is that you are getting a steady salary or income stream that can pay for your trip and still have enough to fall back on when you leave the country you visited.

You have a variable income stream which doesn't seem like a steady income stream and except you explain to the ECO via a cover letter your situation or any deposit other than your salary, s/he may believe you're not entitled to get the visa.

adeniyy01:
I don't own a company, am employed as stated in my application, my gross earning 260k but after deductions.. i get 220k , if i collect i o u it will be deducted as well.. if i win contract for my company 5% of the d profit would also be addede to my salary. So i don't have fixed amount for salary inflow. For instance, july, i got 182k which i used to filled my application as my salary, Aug 262, Sept 220k, oct 270, nov. 300k all this raising ws based on contract won. Nd immediately i get my salary, i transfer 150 or 120k to my brother for monthly contributions we do, pay for some local bills.. i drained my acct in oct due to my wife business (not registered biz tho) nd she was d one who deposited 500k to my acct for boosting to print statement. . i want to reapply Jan or feb. Please what's your advice.. ? I also fell victim to those lawyer at collection center who i paid 40k to write against my refusal.. i called her to stop while u guys advised me not to.. but she said, she has sent letter already. 3hours after giving her money . I don't know what she sent tho. I pray she doesn't wrt ribbish. My hope please

Oga please go back to that stupid immigration lawyer,,ask her for refunds and definetely she would disagree, threaten her u would involve d police or go with d police seeking her arrest, she wont want to go to the station..she wud pay u ur money..telling u dis from experience..this people dont send any rubbish mail, they send mails to email addresses with automated response and sometimes draft mails and respond theirselves...get ur money back!of recent,I stumbled on a complaint proceedure while doing research abt Uk visit visa refusal and how best to tackle wrong refusal reasons, especially for those who have no right to appeal or administrative review....i found out in cases where an applicant does not have right to appeal or administrative review, asides letter before claim and judicial review(which is a long process and involves going to court and all..lol),u can write a letter of reconsideration ;its like a complaint letter, pointing out that the ECO made a mistake in judging ur application,e.g the eco failed to put into consideration document A,B,C or the eco relied on incorrect assumptions which led to your refusal e.g the conversion rate of ur salary,or if the ECO says ur salary does not reflect in ur bank statement and you have submitted a payslip that shows ur salary payment is being made to ur acct..just giving few examples here...I dont advise u reapply as to me this is just dashing dem money again,if the eco made a mistake ,a letter of reconsideration should be written, send a mail and u wud get an automated response stating u cannot send mail outside d uk to that box, then respond stating u re not making enquiries but rather complaints and would like the ECM to review ur application...if it is true that there was a mistake truly by them, the mail would be forwarded to the appropriate quarters and u would get a response that ur mail is under review ...if what u stated is right,u would get a reconsideration mail, askn u to submit ur passport at d embassy and would be called upon to pick up when it has been stamped...and sometimes they wud still refuse if the ecos rejection reasons re correct..wud share a template on how the process is done..a friend of mine got reconsidered and he didnt spend a dime on reapplication fees..the while process took about 14days and he got his passport stamped...please note that the ONUS is on u to be able to pinpoint the ECOs errors and be sure to have carefully studied the guidance brochure before writing a reconsideration mail...

Dear All,

I have a two-year visa which will expire 2020. I already bought my travel ticket for 26th December and just realised my passport will be expiring February 2019.... I will be back in Nigeria by mid January. I just want to check if this is going to be a problem at Heathrow. I can't get a new passport between now and Wednesday

@nomad26 thanks for this. Just a few questions please. What is the Original cover letter please? (Content)

Now, about the original maintenance letter, did you request this directly from your employer? Reason I'm asking is because I had thought the only way to show maintenance was to use bank statements showing funds have been maintenaned in the account for 90 days.

nomad26:
For my partner's Tier 2 Dependant visa, application was submitted to TLS in Victoria Island

Timeline (Standard):
31st May: Submitted online application
5th June: Submitted documents and biometrics
28th June: Passport ready for pickup (14 working days ex. public holidays)
Picked up passport same day with visa approved (valid from 25th June)

These are the documents we submitted, in case anyone finds it helpful:

Mine:
1. Original Cover Letter
2. Copy of BRP and all pages of my current passport
3. Copy of my CoS
4. Tenancy agreement
5. Original Maintenance letter from my employer (I didn't submit any bank statement or payslips)

Partner:
1. Completed application form
2. IHS payment reference
3. Copy of all pages of current passport
4. Passport photograph (which were not collected so no need wasting money)
5. Original Marriage certificate
6. Original TB certificate
7. 3 years whatsapp chat and call log (screenshots on A4 page)
8. Copy of flight tickets of holidays we've taken together
9. Pictures of both of us on holidays/wedding
