You ehn, I hate it when people try to play funny games. He knows exactly what he plans to do. He's just looking for enablers. Every info about visas is on that website. A click will give you so much info. All the same thank you for your explanations

Obinoscopy:
It good to know you want to do things legally.

This thread is for discussions on Visit Visa. You've been advised that you can apply for a Visit Visa to attend a program. But you were also advised not to work with a Visit Visa.

So if you insist on working, then this is the wrong thread for you as Visit Visa is for visiting and not working.

Securing work visa is not easy. This is because it's the company that wants to employ you that usually applies for the visa and they must convince the US government that no US citizen is qualified for the job and that you are the only one qualified. This is a tall order if you ask me.

You can however work with a student visa. But the cost of schooling in the US is so high that the money you make while working is barely enough. I doubt you even want to go through the rigours of schooling. So this is not your option.

So my personal advice is this: apply for a visit visa and if you get it, visit only and come back home. You can always visit many times thereafter. But don't work with the visit visa.

However note that you will have to demonstrate strong ties with Nigeria for you to get the visit visa. If you don't qualify for visit visa, then I suggest you don't waste money applying and wait till when you have gotten the required things that can be considered as strong ties.

fantastical:

Alright, when I say I want to do things legally I mean, I want to acquire legal and relevant documents that will not compromise my integrity and the integrity of the country I'm representing (Nigeria). This is going to be my first international trip anyway. And my first appearance at the embassy. That's why I have to open up here after carefully followed this trend. Anyway, every advice and suggestion is welcome and highly appreciated.
God will see me through...

I'll advise you plead with your Dad to increase your salary even if u have to return the excess one way or the other. A good way is to shoulder the family/domestic expenses that Dad normally funds. In a way, he has only transferred the responsibilities to you which I believe will bolster your application tremendously. Also, you don't have to mention you are working for your Dad. Get one of his staff to do you an intro letter stating your annual emolument and your role in the company. Please jettison the idea of Dad sponsoring you (you are a graduate and what you are simply telling VO is that Dad is sponsoring your exit from Ngr). If Dad really likes you that much, he would show it in your monthly take-home. Lastly, do not appear for visa interview until about 6 months after your new salary. This way, you can equip yourself with at least 6 months statement of account showing this nice salary. There are other things to consider tho, should be a short vacation on a low budget, book an hotel and draw up a good plan for your vacation without your Aunt in the picture. If u do all these and you don't get the visa, it's just gonna be one flimsy excuse, not that you couldn't prove strong ties back home.

Good morning family
I have only been to the UK and Ghana. I studied in UK and last traveled 2016. Throughout 2017, I was in lawschool. 2018- NYSC/ and part time working with my Dad's company. 26, female and single.

Currently I still work for my Dad's company full time. But d pay is 50k.
I would like to visit my aunt in d US with my dad as my sponsor because I haven't started earning a lot and can't sponsor my self.
Secondly, my dad does not mind being my sponsor but I am still worried.

Having same company as Employer and Sponsor might pose a challenge especially when we share same surname.

Plse I need advice.

Secondly, plse what is the available date now in Abuja?

Good Day House

Please i applied for a B1/B2 visa...my interview was for 13th dec. I got there on the scheduled date passed through the normal checks, got to the interview hall, queued like others and when it got to my turn, the lady asked for my passport which i handed over to her. she asked for my i-20 at that point i told her i wasn't a student that i was going for medicals....she said the class of visa i picked during my appointment was m-1( it was my agent who filled the form, and he did expedite according to him)....tried explaining it was an oversight but she asked i wait for her to do some checks. she later got back and said i should go re-book an appointment picking the right class of visa after 72 hrs to enable her open the visa application fee made to gtb. then i left.

Now i have been trying to use the same receipt to re-book an appointment but its bringing an error message 'NO VALID RECORD CAN BE FOUND FOR THE ENTERED RECEIPT NUMBER'........we have written severally to the US help desk they aint helping the issue. please what can i do now? i cant pay another visa fee when i didn't have an interview......the whole process is frustrating

A Nigerian passport holder is a Nigerian. A Nigerian resident is someone living in Nigeria legally but not necessarily a Nigerian passport holder. So check your category.

Eh yah you are a victim of avoidable circumstance!
How in the world would you not know what class of visa you interviewing for?

Its like going for a surgery and you don't know what kind

Or going for a school exam you don't know what course.

Or going to the farm you don't have tools.

This just shows desperation, stupidity, ignorance and pure embarrassment.

Now you back here asking ridiculous questions after the deed is done ( which I believe you knew all along just playing dumb innocence)

Indirectly this is also fraud and cheating the system. Same level if not worse than a tourist who works on a visit visa
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 3 by cerezo: 4:33pm On Dec 29, 2018
There's no correlation whatsoever. I am yet to understand what is wrong in working for my Dad and having him increase my salary so I can shoulder more responsibilities at home. At the same time, helping build my financial standing. Let's not make this place look like where visa decisions are made. The final decision is with the VO. Many of us secure these visas not by our perfect making, but we come here to condemn efforts made by others. IMO it seems we just don't want others to have same privilege. I am very open to correction here, I want to learn how this is synonymous to working with visit visa.

I don't know what is wrong with some people that makes them always act like they are owners of the United States or wherever they reside.

How dare you utter this rubbish on an applicant in need of assistance? I had to reread her post and I couldn't find where she requested for anything illegal. This is despicable!

Stop acting like you are the first African to migrate to the USA, millions migrated before you and more will migrate after you. I don't know your age but you have lots of growing up to do. To hell with you man!

@pemilabelle I advice you call the embassy and I hope you sort things out. And please, it is best you handle your things yourself as most so-called agents are notorious for messing things up after collecting huge sum of money. Good luck
