I still dey jealously hold onto my Flourmills and JBerger.... Na only sizable units of WAPCO remain to complete my industrial mix portfolio.
Correct Man. Respect....

Please note that am not saying that your entry price of N12 is bad, nobody knows the future. Am only saying that I won't enter the stock at the moment, at that price.

BTW, WAPCO and Flour Mills are stocks that usually surprise people out of the blues. They are not bad to be held unto (for investors though).

Good day everyone,

Between Transcorp and Caverton, which is better for a 2 or 3 months horizon?

Thank you.

NIGERIA STOCK MARKET GENERAL COMMENT /MSCI POSITION (NSE STOCK MARKET WEATHER REPORT) - FOR 4 JANUARY 2019

MSCI Nigeria still selling. Total loss in the Nigeria All share index for 2019 now 2.10% as at the close of business yesterday.

Price action is still telling us to expect a down trend our focus is now fixed on the 30,492.79 level. For now I will slow down on purchase of equities as further fall in prices may continue today.

For Friday 4 January 2019, expected High is 30,983.28 low at 30654.51. To gauge the sentiment of the market, we will consider if the closing figure is close to our expected low or high. Going by yesterday’s closing price, the closing figure of 30,771.32 was below our projected low of 30945.53 indicating that the market was bearish.

From this year, I will start talking about companies that are likely to be takeover/merger candidates. They are many companies that will fall in this category and will be a worthwhile research. Especially when they are trading at a very low point that our maximum loss is within 15% to 20% range. For this I will be posting more in our twitter handle.

Also, Institutions can afford to suffer big losses without going burst compared with an individual, you cannot follow them blindly (you need to at least have some knowledge/your own plan).

1. Due to the fact so many new people are coming to this forum and may not know this use of following the “big monies that move markets”, I will be indicating why/how to use the information. This will be a permanent future of my post to reduce some comments which may prevent the people that understand the system from confusion by people who have not followed how this started. My comment for today for anybody who doubts the efficacy of following the fund is to look at my recent recommendations for the past 2 months.

2. The fund will still hold some equity, the terms of service states this. Thus no matter the condition of the market, it will not liquidate to Zero, unless the fund is exiting from the particular Country involved. This is an equity fund investing in the Nigeria market. The date displayed may not be the actual date of purchase/sale of equity (this is legal and allowable under the regulations guiding funds operations in general).

3. You cannot bear losses like the fund. The pocket of the fund is too deep. Therefore, as an individual you are not suppose to be in the market during the stock market crash. Before or during the crash, reduce your holding.

4. If you are seeing this type of data on MSCI Nigeria for the first time. You may need to verify the figures. Go to my previous posts (https://www.nairaland.com/yok/posts), you will see the various sources where the data can be verified. Get us at twitter https://twitter.com/AnalysisTarget

I hope it responds to Agba's call at N15. Agba should have fortified his "jazz" for 2019.

WAPCO 2nd round of Rights Issue has started. We are yet to see the impact of the first Rights Issue carried out in the first half of the year on the company's financial performance. Management asking for more money from shareholders without value created on the earlier Rights, to me sounds foolish. Could it be that the foreign shareholders loan is a creative accounting of the directors to collect money from shareholders coz i am not understanding.
rebekah2011:
I do not know the attraction in the stock sef. Wapco is going. The company in my view needs at least 250b in fresh capital
RabbiDoracle:
E go be you like film.

We predicted 3 euro cent (value as at then was around N13 or N14) when Peterichy said it was a 3 euro stock. Then the stock was trading at N42 or so.

If you are there, just don't hope. Anything you see, just manage. You can't stop a tsunami if it wants to come.

You staying in a stock will not prevent the stock from falling.
Surely, the woes are not ending soon...If you are in for long term just brace up for more red portfolio... grin

I think I agree with you. This stock has always been a defensive stock. Even when the bears are on ground, hardly goes on a free fall.

Are they using style to get Wigwe to withdraw from the deal or Wigwe is using style to acquire DBN at a cheaper price.

We go soon find out.
