If the renewed passport is assured to come out before the scheduled interview date then go ahead, if not use the passport like that. My opinion but the issuance of visa stipulates the passport must be @ least 6 months valid.

No not entirely true. Sis got her us visa issued on less than 6 months valid passport. She only renewed before traveling.

If you’ve filled the form already, go ahead with that passport. Because you can’t appear with a passport that would have already been canceled if that’s what you put on your form.
When you’re ready to travel get a new passport and attach both. I have also gotten a 2 year UK visa on a passport with 3 months validity.

If you haven’t filled the form with your current passport, then just get a new one and apply with the new one.

@seyewest and others please I need answers to my question. My mum wants to renew her Visa that would be expiring in feb and has got a date in feb too for the interview cos she dosen't want to do dropbox. My question now is her passport is expiring in june which is less than 6 months. She intends staying for 2wks. Should she renue the Passport before going for the interview

If truly you have nothing important to do in U.S.... Stay away from their Embassy and visit Europe for proper travel history.

This is all I’ve been telling people off this forum my middle name is now bad belle.

please I need quick response to my issue.
I try to retrieve my application (DS160 form) that I have submitted since October and booked appointment already, with my application ID, which my date is Feb next month. I think I don't fill the sponsor of my trip so I decided to create new application, but to my surprise when I create the new ID and have new ID number to edit my information on the form, then I see that it was filled already, and I decided to cancel the new ID application that I just get and I don't submit it the new ID application form again, I cancelled it.
1. hope this won't affect my former confirmation page again that have already submitted since October?
2. hope it won't affect my already book appointment date as well?

Gurus here,
Could I find it a bit easier securing an American visa if I got an invitation from a citizen?
How do I get started, pls?

Next thing to happen will be clear to you between tomorrow most likely and Monday tops.... If it doesn’t change to ISSUED by then, expect a 221g decision for you to schedule an appointment for interview. Worry less for now sha.

Omobendel24 u were right!

Awhile back, my profile updated into askin me to schedule an appointment with dates frm june 21st to july 1st, all for 8.05am. I choose none o, lol, i jus want my passport back safely, i wud do all other planned trips and return to my job first. When the fog in the US is cleared, i will return to schedule for appointment.

I would freeze it till like sept/oct to Dec, hope this poses no risk too o and anyone knws how soon my passport gets to me?

Hope you know that your payment receipt is valid onky for one year. If you wait till you choose a date and this "fog" doesn't clear, one can onky hope that you wont have difficulty finding a date when you decide to book your appointment[qauote author=Vuitton007 post=74602185]

Good evening everyone.

1. Please who has an idea of the earliest possible interview date.
2. My interview is scheduled for Feb 12- 2.30pm. i am thinking of changing the time to early morning. with the rate of denials, i feel being in the morning batch also helps.

My profile- single, female, posses travel history- been going to the UK since 2010, and visit every year, dubai twice. This will be my first time applying for US visa, Work and earn about N200k monthly, Invite is by a family friend.

Your inputs will be highly appreciated.

My transcript for the interview had in December 2018. Went with the wife and 2 kids

Vo: Good morning
I and wife: Good morning
Vo: pass ur passport.
We did.
Vo: why are u going to US
I: for family vacation
Vo: where are u going in US
I: Texas
Vo: why Texas
Wife: because we want to visit... I quickly interuppted
I: because the weather in texas is not too cold as compared to other cities in US. Even quoted some temperature in different places.
Vo: i want ur husband to be answering me.
Vo: hv u travelled out before?
I: no
Vo: why is it now dt u want to visit US
I: because i hv been busy being a doctor and my wife building up her fashion school. We think it is now we can visit US.
Vo: repeated the question.
I: went blank, repeated the same answers, cldnt even think of another tin.
Vo: sorry you are not qualified for the visa.
Gave us back our passport and the green paper

Please what do u guys think went wrong.

In my own opinion, I don’t think Texas is one of the tourism states in US and also Texas has been floaded with so many Naija folks who came in with B2 visa and refused to return.

Also you kinda contradict what your wife was about to say ... sounds like you’ve been coached on what to say before the interview ...

Give it a shot another time ...

Just my thoughts though.

Good day every one have been following this thread for some time now,I refused to come out and ask for suggestions cos of the way some pple are handling issues here..pls I need suggestions before going for my interview in March.
Am a single mother,I want to travel for Easter celebration with my child for just 10days.
I work as an administrative manager for an educational consultant for 4years now,my salary is 150k. I have a significant amount in my account.in my traveling plans I stated using 1m for the trip no invitation letter,no relative, intend staying in an home stay for that 10days.
My wedding is coming up by may.have only travel to Ghana for 4days.
1.do I need to provide my wedding iv
2.is my job enough prove for my home ties

Just give suggestions, what your take on this

Earning 150k and want to visit US with your kid for 10 days? sad

Doesn’t sound like a good tie to Naija ... that’s to me ...

However, good luck ... say the truth at the interview and you should be good

Good morning all, a friend of mine stammers a little and has an interview at the US embassy next week. Is it okay for her to tell them immediately after 'good morning' about this, so they would not think that her stutter is caused by something else? Please let me know your thoughts

Please is it mandatory or compulsory for someone to travel on the same date indicated on the DS 160 after being approved or can one wait a little longer to travel;(a month);I’m just asking to avoid any issues at the POE.
@seyewest and @omobendel24 or any guru in the house ;please I need to be enlightened about this.

Your submitted DS160 is still valid but in case you want to change it then generate another ds160 number through the old one so that you will be able to access your previously submitted DS160 data.

It's important to travel at the date indicated on DS160 if you're attending a Conference,Seminar etc but if it's for visit.. it's flexible.

Thanks for the response. Please I want to be very clear, my visa expires in February, I have paid visa fee to renew, i saw that I qualify for Dropbox while I was trying to schedule appointment. I didn’t proceed beyond that because I wanted to be sure so I can get my relevant documents ready.

The question I am asking is: how long do I have to submit my passport/credentials to DHL?

Since there might not be an interview, I’m sure there’s a deadline to submit? The reason I am asking is I don’t have all my documents ready yet, I mean bank statement and work related documents. I don’t want any wahala. Thanks for your response.

Also, in addition, what documents should I submit along with my passports?

You don't need to submit documents/ credentials if you qualify for dropbox
