Emeka, I don't know why you're asking this question, but I think I'm qualified to answer this very question, even very well, having spent over 14 years in marriage and still counting.


Well, when you sight that person, I mean that special one whom you share special chemistry with, who your instinct tells you he's the one, nothing, I mean nothing, except yourself can stop the inflow of inner communication that will be connecting within your inner minds into being physically connected with each other, regardless of the financial background of either of you, especially, when after you both have been physically connected and everything about you two seems to be on the same page.


When we got married, the issue of bride price wasn't actually a problem because I'm from a family who believes that collecting bride price on your daughter is tantamount to selling her off. But other things like engagement items were not really a problem but somehow a problem. So, we both cut our clothes according to our sizes and dodged so many other things because we couldn't afford it then and the wedding ceremony went itch-free and nobody, including me and my husband owed a penny, we both managed the very little resources at our disposal with my utmost cooperation and we're happy for that. With almost 14 years in marriage, it's like we are still dating, we've being very wonderful friends, confidants and companions to each other. To the glory of God, we're no longer what we used to be, those things we didn't have then, we now have in abundance.

I saw the potential in him, he saw in me as well, and our instincts were right about each other.
