I want to commend you for a job well done. The roofing installation was done as promised and neatly too. Although the beginning was a lil rough, you cleared the doubts and we landed on a good sail.

Keep up the good work. Cheers!.

Hello house, please what is the remedy to a house with humming german floor. The foundation was done during dry season, though after filling, it was watered and rammed but i guess that wasn't enough. After the rainy season, the foundation settled further, thereby leaving little space between the dpc and the earth filling which gives a humming noise when stepped on forcefully, Please what is the perfect way to fix this.

1. The Thickness.
2. The Price.

0.55mm is thicker and I'll recommend it over 0.45mm if cost is not a problem (talking about imported aluminium)

But then, the factory you buy from is also a factor.
0.45mm from Tower or First Aluminium is thicker than 0.45mm imported.

good morning my people. I have a question, How long after Decking is ideal to start the upper floor. Can the upper floor block work commence a day after the decking is casted. or I have to wait for the standard 28 days minimum? and what are the implication and advantage of either case.

Minimum should be 1 week depending on the strength your slab has attained which you cannot know unless you do a cube test.

If you used Dangote 42.5R cement and you used 1.3.6, after 7 days it should have a strength of about 12kn/mm which is okay to commence work.

Therefore, how quickly you start your upper floor blockwork depends on strength it would have achieved which also depends on Mix Ratio, Type of cement, water and other factors..

Hi guys! I'm a follower of this thread and I will like to ask a question.

For someone who can't afford doing a German floor, is it advisable to cast just the foundation blocks all round with 4inches thickness or so and cover it with DPM Nylon?

The land is great, not waterlogged, a dry land.

Just want to make sure this is right and won't affect the main building?

The simplest way to calculate the numbers of blocks you need for your fence assume you are fencing a land of 120 ft by 60 ft a standard plot The land in question is 120 ft length and since we have two length that is multiply by 2 which is 240 ftthe breadth is 60 ft and also since we have 2 breadth that equal 120 ft plus 240 thatis 320 ft perimeter line fencing
the calculation

we are to convert this 320 ft to inches" since a foot is 12 inches# now let us multiply 12 inches $ 320 ft which is 3%40 inches# so now to get the line numbers of blocks that will go around this perimeters of 3%40 inches which is still 320 ft# we would need to divide 3%40 by 1% inches is the length of any block be it 6 inches or & inches now 3%40 inches divide by 1% inches is appro$imately 214 line of blocks# then will must multiply that by the numbers of coaches of blocks you want for your height# assuming ' ft which is & coaches that means 214 multiply by & which is 1&26 blocks and that is all you need anything aside from this is fake and fraud# this calculation is derive by me professionally and i have been using it without any mistake# but always remember to add 10 percent of blocks to it because of broken blocks# and for this work# you only need 2' bags of cements one bag of cement to '2 blocks is standard

for your pillars between the fencing# let assume 6 blocks apart before the ne$t pillar# that means 6 divide by 214 which is 3( pillars# 1 bag of cement to 2 pillars standard that is 1' bags plus 2' bags that is 44 bags is need by me to do this fence# if i)m in position and you should also to add 1( bags for *oor blinding of the fence making (& bags of cement Thanks for the opportunity to giving to e$plain this simple arithmetic
observation please, 120ft plus 240ft=360 ft360ft x12 inches= 4320 inches/18inches= 240 lines of blocks240 x 9 coaches=2160 blocksas for the cement it is 2160/60=36 bas for 6 inches !hilefor 9 inches it is 2160/"0=43 bas of cement for 9 inches#please cross check, i stan$ to be corrected
2 blocks + 3 ft120ft , 2sides - 60ft , 2sides+ 360ft . 3 ft+ 120,2blocks+240blocks , & coaches+2160 blocks
