I've never really thought of getting any paid employment and won't be thinking about it by God's grace.
I started my vegetable farm just immediately after my service year in 2018. Its not been an easy journey though, but I'm proud of me that I didn't give up when the journey seemed bleak.

I see success... God bless all legit hustlers!

So God should punish the unlegit hustlers abi

"When the going gets tough, the tough gets going." I just understood what it means... We will survive at last...

Nothing lasts forever...

Life after NYSC has been a rough one...

Good evening nairalanders, please I'm in dire need of temporary accommodation. I'm a fresh graduate who just got a job on the island, pay is 40k. I was squatting with a friend at the barracks until yesterday evening when the new commandant asked me to leave that I'm not permitted to stay there. please I need accommodation for 1 month and would leave thereafter. right now I'm stranded with no where to go. 07056149118 is my number, please I need help, please.
Na lie, commandant has no business with civilians inside the barracks as long as you know a soldier there and you have your pass that allows you in and out of the barracks at will.

If you don't have a pass, apply for one irrespective of whether the soldier is your family member or not!

Was teaching during my service year. Finished ending of 2016. Applied and taught in a private secondary school throughout 2017. Then early part of 2018 I had a temporary job to provide safety supervision for a project offshore. The project lasted for 6 months. Later part of 2018 I commenced NPower teaching in a technical college. Apart from the above, I produce liquid detergent, aftershave, Izal, bleach, methylated spirit, and hair cream which I learnt during my NYSC. I was engaged by an ICT Academy to teach an engineering software - Aspen HYSYS - in December last year. A service that lasted for 10 days. I do home lesson, assist university students in design projects. That's how I have been surviving.
see serious minded person.God will bless and strengthen u.

I guess I am one of the lucky ones... I burst my ass to learn software development in school and it paid off during and after service year. So all I can say is for you to learn a skill. Preferably a digital skill, that's your ticket to financial freedom during and after NYSC.. Learn learn learn
How can one monetize it please

Finished nysc April 2018. Since then I've tried two businesses. I did Oriflame business and sold clothes...
The thing is people can be so annoying eh, as long as you are not doing the normal 8-5 pm job, they begin to feel you are idle and lazy...

I stay very far from the Island, around Ogba area and I think it's going to be too far and stressful for you considering your pay, otherwise I'd have asked you to come manage at my place.
I stay alone, and I'm currently jobless though, but I would be more than willing to accommodate you and even support you in any way I can. I hate to see a fellow brother struggle, e dey pain me.

Any Nigerian youth that is unemployed z underemployed or have a relative or sibling that is, and he or she still goes ahead to vote Buhari, then the person should prepare for more economy hardship and unemployment status extensioncry

We all have seen the best of Buhari, his best is very poor, he has tried, let him go back to his cows and allow another person to try too.

2 tenures is not the birthright of any politician, we are not practicing royal kingdom type of government, this is democracy, to merit second tenure, you must work to make life better for Nigerians.

Nigerians wake up, this is beyond politics, it is for the good of our future and that of our unborn generations, we need to start getting things right by voting out any incompent failed President and Governor after their first tenure pls I am begging you all save Nigeria from total destruction by Buhari and his 3-man cabals from Daura angry

shut up pls, I guess u do not read a post above urs where the person is working with N-power, that 30k goes a long way.

I read Banking and finance but the irony of the whole thing is that I don't like working in a bank so I learnt how to make clothes(sew) after my service year...But Lord knows my passion is acting and script writing and I am willing to pursue any opportunity that I sniff or presents itself.

bullshit ur pride and learn a trade

Pride is the main reason people suffer after NYSC. If someone says there is absolutely no legit hustle he can do.... then that person is a lazy yoot period. No doubt...there are things one can do to maintain... but pride will not allow them to.
