In my assumption ....refusal on purpose of visit...........means that the VO was not convinced that your purpose of visit is actually to study.......probably,

1.) the choice of discipline is not in line with previous studies or current employment
2.) the choice of discipline is not economically viable in Nigeria.............so after schooling, the PA would not return to naija...because there are no good jobs based on the course studied.
3.)The level of education sought, is below already attained educational level

The myth is that, "purpose of visit" can be well tackled with a good SOP, elucidating the economical viability of the proposed course and level of studies....and also defining the need for a career change where this is applicable. (ABOVE ALL, NA by God's grace ooh.............)

Bro, can I chat you on email? I will be glad if I can get your email add, thanks

Hello good people....pls i need to quickly confirm something from the gurus in the house; If someone who has 10 years experience in the Banking profession, with following qualifications : HND Accounting, ACA and Bsc Accounting applies for an MBA in a university in Canada, will that be a red flag at the embassy or would you rather suggests he goes for an Msc Finance or Masters in Accounting instead of the MBA? Honest suggestions needed pls.

I was expecting to see approval of fellow veterans like me , disappointed to see that people are arguing about SOP. Sigh!

You are the winner!
Come and collect your cup!!!

What are you writing in a 3pages ?
what is an SOP to start with?
If people wrote 1 page of SOP and got VISA , why would anyone write a 3 page of SOP?
SOP means statement of purpose !
It has to do with why you want this visa, many people really dont know, they go saying all sort of frivolities and say the reason they want the VISA in just one LINE, but complete nonsense in 100 Lines.

You that have something to say, keep saying it, advise people to say plenty things , na you go read am for the Consular.

N.B___ Someone once sent me an SOP to review, it was 4 pages, ... I only read the first page, it was complete nonsense.

-My father is not always at home
-My mother was sick but she is better now
-My sister and my brother was schooling , now they stopped schooling so that i can travel because i am brilliant!
etc!!!

I once did a one page SOP, it took just 12days to get an Approval, it is not the long lines, it is the capturing, You need to capture who is reading.

As a rule on social media, I try to jump and pass anything that will lead to arguments. Funny enough I agree with some, if not all of your points. The only issue I have is you are trying to force your personal opinion on others. You cannot do that.

If I were to advice a first time applicant, my opinion would be NOT more than 2 pages of LOE/SOP (detailed and straight to the point). I want to believe there is a reason why most schools in first world countries include a word limit when they ask you to submit SOP. I believe when you write too much, relevant information is missed, you create more gaps and that could complicate things.

If I were to advice someone re-applying, I would want them to address points raised in the GCSM notes and this may lead to 4,5 or even 10 pages of LOE.

Major reason why if your SOP is too long, most gurus on this thread always advice you to break them into sections using subheadings.

The truth is we have seen a first time applicant on this forum who wrote more than four pages of LOE and got visa. We have also seen applicants without LOE/SOP and still got visas. Most things said on this forum is a combination of facts and personal opinions.

At the end of the day, it is left for applicants to make the final decsion on what to do as no word limit was indicated on the CIC website for LOE.

You can go for anyone bro with your experience. For anyone you decide to go for, just make sure you can give good reasons in your SOP whyyou have chosen the program and its benefit to you? No red flag.

Hello, I want to make a suggestion. I was going through some of the previous threads and I noticed that they collated student visa applications, date of application and the progress made. I think each week. In my opinion I think it’s helpful if we can continue such here.

Thanks for this reply,I am thinking of applying to schools, since some schools allow paying in installments.

Wait .. I hope you are not trying to come to Canada, get jobs and think of paying your fees via those jobs? For me to give you proper advice, I hope it is not Ontario, London you are coming to? I am not saying it is impossible but make sure you ask the right questions and know the exact province/territory you should be.

You cannot make 2000CAD monthly after tax as a student who is new in Canada except you work more than 20 hours a week. Why would you want to break the law when you can become a PR in 3 years? It is not worth it.

My advice for any hustler is bring money along for your fees and extra change (at least for first semester), don't come during winter because getting jobs for hustlers (if you know what i mean) is harder during winter, choose the right school (make sure they accept installments and you have an idea of duration), province and city. Your location matters a lot if you know you are a hustler. You will understand better when you get to Canada.

Asides fees, there are some modules they will tell you to register for online and you have to pay. I currently have a module where I have to pay 123CAD for online and it is compulsory because there are assignments I need to submit via the site.

Also, choose the right programs. Most Programs with Co-op allows you to work for up to 8 months or even a year. You get paid and work full time after completing 2 semesters with a good CGPA (please confirm from your school the terms and conditions of their coop). This is good because you earn while schooling and get the Canadian work experience as well.

God help us all.

Hello, my sponsor is in the US and he is doubting if the soft copy of his bank statement is enough to apply for the visa?

2) If not, what is the most easiest way to send me his bank statement?

3) What other document is needed from bank or him?
I just want to make sure I don't stress him.

Thanks.

other documents:

Proof of relationship
employment letter and tax documents

Good evening house , am new on this thread . I need help consigning my profile . I have bsc in electrical electronics with more than ten year experience with a reputable company . I had 2/2 at my undergraduate level . The issue I have is that most school I applied to in Canada didn’t give me admission saying my cgpa is below their standard . Am contemplating on these three things ;
1. Can I apply to college for advanced diploma?
2. Can I apply to start another undergraduate program
3. Can I get a university that can offer me admission with my 2.75/5.0 cgpa . I will be glad if I can be guided .
Thanks .

Brother, most universities in canada don't accept 2.2 for masters though there are some which I do not know...thats why u have to go for pgd 1st, den move up to the masters or u might be fortunate, get a job..

U can apply to a college with your cgpa and get admission, u can apply for another undergraduate program but wea u will have issues is convincing the VO why u are going do another undergraduate, which is difficult but still possible..

thank you for your kind response.

here are reasons for the delayed

1, I am not satisfied that you will leave canada at the end of your stay based on your travel history
2, purpose of visit
3, personal assets and financial status.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Charlesgeb: 10:49pm On Jan 22, 2019
@Naijaforeigner, I appreciate your honesty and detailed explanation of things as-is in Canada. I know some Naija peeps that fell into this trap and had to pay through their nose. The fortunate ones that had at least the 1st semester school fees and who were able to get a job got loans at cash money for about 50-60% interest for the period they paid back. So please read and re-read this great info from @Naijaforeigner if you are planning on coming to Canada to school. Its tough studying and trying to get top grades and this could be impeded if you are also struggling with payments etc at the same time.
