This afternoon's weather. I noticed it gets colder (way colder) as night falls.

Beautiful city.

We ordered chickenburgers and fries for lunch at Mc Donalds.
Apparently, this particular package comes with coke and brownies as add-ons. However, i substituted Nuggets for the brownies.
So for lunch i had;
▪1 Chickenburger
▪Fries
▪Nuggets (i kept a greater portion till evening)
▪I skipped the coke.

My co-travellers (2) had similar for lunch. Only difference being that one had ice cream and the other had Apple pie instead.

We had a guide who ate exactly the same as well.
In all, we had 4 packs of foods and everything amounted to about 84AED.

We went to the City Centre, Deira. It is so beautiful
For dinner, we had pasta which we ordered at City Centre (pictures attached).
The seller cooks the food right in your presence.
There are a host of ingredients laid out and each customer is required to select what ingredients s/he will like to have included.
The ingredients include;
▪Prawns ×
▪Thinly sliced mushrooms ×
▪Chopped sausages
▪Diced tomatoes ×
▪Sliced chicken
▪Shredded beef
▪Sliced green pepper ×
▪Minced Garlic ×
▪Sea food mix
▪Broccoli ×

The ones i marked × were the ones we added to ours.

Along the line, pureed tomato or cheese (both if you prefer) is/are added, then in goes the pre-cooked pasta.
I opted for just the pureed tomato and that explains the colour of the food in the attached pictures.
For the meals that use cheese instead, they have a creamy white look.

Again the food was NOT spicy enough despite adding "a lot" of red pepper and emptying a satchet of black pepper on the pasta. But it was rich and very tasty.

Not forgetting the food came with free garlic bread (which i did not eat).

Total cost for 3 plates and a cup of coke was 115AED

Earlier in the day, we passed by a shop that sells nuts, dried fruits and sweets. Everything from peanuts to pistachios, chocolate to candy, apricot to pineapples. These kind of items are priced per kilogram but you aren't obligated to purchase an entire kilogram. You can always buy less but the least seems to be quarter of a kilogram.
I bought a quarter kilo of dried apricots yesterday. Cost me 7AED but that thing tastes awful.

(Some) stores such as this one put up signs saying their items sell at 1AED to xAED. Yes they have items within this range but they also often have numerous items that exceed this range. I entered one of such stores yesterday. This one even had it at 1AED to 5AED but the first item i picked, 6.99AED.
The only explanation is MARKETING!!

•There are many Nigerians within this vicinity as well.
In general, i don't think there's a street where you won't find blacks in Dubai. A taxi driver once told us most of the Africans in Dubai are from either Nigeria or Ethiopia and i agree as majority of those we've come across are either of those.

This is unrelated but i still think i should share.
I was playing Candy crush yesterday morning, then i unintentionally tried to make a purchase and suddenly the prices are in AED. This shocked me
Bear in mind that i never turn on my GPS so that's out of the picture.

I opened Subway surfers and tried to make a purchase. Same thing!!

Is there any explanation for this?

well I think google determines your location whether or not your GPS is on. You could check this on the google home page as long as you are logged into your email account. My thoughts though

Open your chrome browser,scroll down,you will see your location there.

@ the OP. Could you help with the fair cost of accommodation in Deira as I will be visiting for a week in February. Ticket already purchased but I want to have an idea of what to budget for accommodation.

You guyz can still eat naija food if you want, there is African restaurant in deira correct egbusi or any Nigerian food, even ajman there is African restaurant own my a Nigerian

Op I thought because of those pictures you are sharing to nl and other locations country.

Cuz google can detect your location through photo sharing.

Also the Wi-Fi/networks you're logged into has a location history

Average cost of hotels in Deira is 300AED a night [s](could be more or less, but quality may (or may not) differ)[/s] for single room. You won't have a problem finding hotels as they are everywhere. Just make sure you request to check out the room before paying (it is allowed).
Last thing, booking online is cheaper compared to turning up at the hotel to request a room. booking[dot]com is good. Hope this helps you.

You are right. However, i personally will not eat Nigerian food outside the shores of Nigeria for two reasons;
▪Eating Nigerian food abroad is super expensive.
▪Travelling is an opportunity to explore a different culture (food inclusive) so why not use it wisely. After all, there will be an excess of Nigerian food when i return.
