she's black of Japanese-haitian descent and an American citizen

Not entirely true. She has dual nationalities (Japanese and American) but will be stipulated to choose one by the age of 22 according to Japanese law if she desires to remain a Japanese citizen. And she is registered under the Japanese tennis federation.

movetoca:
She is Haitian. She said it herself when she won US open. Google her

Ah! Another one. One says she's American, another says she's Haitian, yet another will say she's Hawaiian. cheesy

She is Japanese. Anyone who doesn't like it should swallow a bowl of すし。 grin

And where did I deny that her mom is not a Japanese? Or Naomi not being an American?

According to Japanese law, she's stipulated to choose one country out of both to qualify as a Japanese citizen. Yes, she's an American citizen because the US allows dual citizenship until death. However, such is illegal in Japan. If she has to remain a Japanese citizen, she must let go of the US citizenship. As a result, she won't be an American again. That she was raised in the US is inconsequential.

this lady will dominate till Thy kingdom come....she would have represented America or Haiti instead of racist Japanese that won't give her due recognition

she didn't get financial support from the US she was young and trying to break through the world of tennis...
She went to Japanese tennis council who welcomed her and threw all their support behind her.

Serena had already won the Semi Final with an ace, but a foot fault was called, so the point had to be replayed, which she lost. She also twisted her ankle in the next game.

Storyyyyyyyyyyyyyy she knew she was gonna play Naomi and intentionally dodged the bullet.

Dreams. Serena is technically retired. We are just waiting for the announcement. any of the girls that qualified for the semis would have beaten her.

She's definitely not retiring before breaking Court's record.

Dumping education and plunging into sports or any other activity will only turn you into a functional illiterate.

Even if you make it to the top, people will simply take advantage of your limited education to exploit and cheat you. Go and ask all those Nigerian footballers who dropped out of school to chase a career in football. Many of them are now sweeping the streets and cleaning toilets in Europe because they are too ashamed to come home.

When sports doesn't work out eventually, one needs education as a backup plan.

IntrovertedK:
i wrote that as a typical Nigerian. And many sport personality didn't have even basic education(Western education in this case) and does that mean they are not some major influence that are reshapening this world? They knew what they wanted and went for it unlike Africans that knows what they want but would still be forced to go for education while wasting time and resources. If Christiano and Messi were to go for education when they enrolled at academys, how old would they be before trying to go back to pursue their football dreams? Would it not be late by then? Case of many Africans with special talents. Neymar, Osaka Naomi herself and many of them. If Africans can start putting this technique into use, we will have lesser problem. Just like the first person i replied said, if Naomi was to be a Nigerian, she'd leave high school at prolly 16, 17, Jamb factor, UTME factor, get admission at prolly 19, 20 and then ASUU factor and all, graduate at 25, 26 and then she'd join the league of job seeker. But now she's 21 and already number 1 in the tennis world. Her dad is educated but why didn't he choose to force education on them too? It's better to go for what you want/believe than wasting time with some imported believes.

This affects majorly African still and also there are many educated folks still doing same job you are trying to ridicule in your post. Many whites who are not educated lives better off than many educated Africans.

Which fact? I watched the match and her ankle was alright. She even said in her interview. You guys are here making excuses for her.

Serena Williams wouldn't have played Australian Open semi-final - Coach

Patrick Mouratoglou commented on Serena Williams's ankle issue during her Australian Open quarter-final loss to Karolina Pliskova on Wednesday

Patrick Mouratoglou commented on Serena Williams's ankle issue during her Australian Open quarter-final loss to Karolina Pliskova on Wednesday. In her press conference after her loss to Pliskova, Serena played down fears on her fitness condition, but Mouratoglou believes that this problem affected her in the latter stages of the match.

'She could have called the trainer because she felt pain,' Mouratoglou, who has been the 23-time Major winner's coach since June 2012, confessed on Eurosport. 'I think she didn't call it because she knew she would have lost and the tournament was finished.

With a stricter tape she may have gone forward and won the match but I strongly doubt she would have played Tomorrow (Thursday). She may have thought about it as well.'

She had also won the quarter final with an ace, when a foot fault was called and she had to replay the point. I doubt she was scared of Osaka. She has a champions mentality, that is why she has 23 Grand Slams. Scared of Osaka, my ass.

Oh yea, they will come out and say, Serna ran away because Naomi would have swept the court with her monstrous ass, same she sis at the US open....

Serena is a great player for sure and I love her....but her time is over! Maybe till she sheds some weight cos she is too big for a preofessional athlete.

Lol. This is not the first time Serena has been written off. Too numerous to count.

She routinely beats the top ten players, made 2 Grand Slam Finals last year, even after numerous surgeries due to complications after childbirth, and you have written her off? Seems you don’t know who Serena is. She has proven her detractors wrong time after time.

If it's not first, it's not first! Like I said she has to lose some weight to have a chance....these younger tennis girls are not smiling.

Fyi, I'm Serena' s no. 1fan but I call black what it is when I see it.
