cheesy,u no wan pound yam bah grin.
For the yam balls-
Peel and boil your yam(make e cook oh grin)
Then allow to cool small oh grin
Pour in a bowl and mash
Then add ground tomatoes, pepper and onions
The add fish or any protein of your choice
The add margarine
Break an egg in a bowl and set aside
Get flour too and set aside
You can add veges to the yam mixture is optional.
Mold your yam mixture into a ball, coat first with the flour and then egg and fry.Shikenan

I started this thread from page 1186 (how didn't I ever it existed?) and thought I'd give this a try and surprise the family. Hmm, yummy!

BTW, Halcyon123, did I over fry it? I don't know but it tasted great. I added minced meat to mine.

Lovely!! Biko share your process/steps of making your buns.
It's scotch egg.
Plain flour, nutmeg, evaporated milk, sugar, butter, salt, eggs and baking powder.

I boiled 9 eggs for 3 cups of flour and set aside to cool down in a bowl of cold water.(you have to do your own mathematics here eg 6 eggs for 2 cups of flour etc)
Added sugar into the flower(used brown sugar),a little less than half cup , a pinch of salt, nutmeg, baking powder and mixed all together. Then add butter( like 3 spoonful or more) and mixed with my hand, one raw egg and continued mixing. Then the milk.
Used like a tin and half of milk( tin size is like Nigerian peak milk). Continued mixing. I almost gave up when the stuff was sticking on my hand stubbornly. Had to use spoon to remove them.
Cover with polyethene and set aside. Finished peeling the eggs and went back to it.
The consistency was stronger this time around aand I divided it into 9 bits.
Used plain flour to rub my hands and made flat dough. U can use roller. Place one egg on the dough and wrap. Roll it over
So it will come out smooth and without opening.
Preheat the oil and start frying. Turn gently and consistently else they will burn.
U will know when it's done.

All these didn't reach up to one hr for a jjc like me. But it was very delicious. They finished it before I could ask if they like it.
Had to wake up in the middle of the night to do this one as I don buy market.
U can get the video on YouTube. How to prepare Nigerian scotch egg.
