Good evening house.

I have followed this thread for a while and it has been informative.
I am about to apply for our tier 2 dependant visa with my son to join my partner in the UK. I believe I have everything right but I want to ask if large deposits/credit in my account statement will affect our application. For instance, my partner sent 300k into the account which will reflect within the 3 months period, I also sent 200k and another 100k and 120k recently from my other personal account. It was all sent so that I can show activity on the account without affecting the actual amount we need for maintenance. My question is, do we need a cover letter to explain like I just did here or this won't be an issue.
Kindly help a troubled sister. Thanks.

So, I got my passport picked up yesterday in DHL office. I was given 6 months multiple. This is my first application. It was a strictly 100% do-it-yourself process. I got ALL valuable suggestions from Nairaland here. God bless all the gurus and contributors for their time. Kudos!

My destination is Manchester, but the plan is to land in Heathrow Airport then connect a train or bus to Manchester City. How do I go about this? Please experienced travellers who have used same route should advice. Make una assist una compatriot o. God bless una richly one more time.

Good morning house. I did my biometrics at the TLS office at Ikeja on the 17th of January, 2019. Today makes it 22 calendar days and 16 working days and I'm yet to receive any mail.
As a silent follower of this thread, I've observed applicants been sent mail if the processing time exceeds the standard 15 working days for visit visas. What should I do if I don't get any feedback today? Thank you all.

Congratulations!!

Just buy a train or bus ticket from Heathrow airport to Manchester.

If you have someone in Manchester they can help you buy a ticket with national express or any train company.

Or you can buy right there at the airport when you land though it will be more expensive

Yes you need to explain those money movement in your account either with a separate paper or within the application

Okay, can I say I don't keep money in the other personal account that I did the transfer from because I do not have ATM card for it and so when I get money, I just send to the one I presented so I can have access to it? Can I say the one my partner sent (300k) was for our upkeep? Since he was not going to be around? Please @justwise and thank you for your previous response.

No, explanation of money movement is not necessary for a tier 2 visa. She doesn't need to explain source of any deposit. What is mandatory is that she keeps the required amount in her or her husband's bank account for the stipulated 90 days. Check out posts by thonerow, he got his visa regardless.

I have checked thonerow's posts. Thanks @nomad26. I had done my search throughout the gov.uk site too about maintenance for dependant visa and didn't see any part where it says I have to explain the source of money movement in my account. And I have kept the minimum balance to cover for us both for 90 days. I guess that should do. Thank you both.

I misunderstood the circumstances justwise. I see there's a difference between money movement and source. My main reason is in bold below, another reason is because after noticing a rise in the exchange rate on oanda.com in recent weeks and most likely get worse during the elections, we decided to add more funds so we don't fall short, just to be safe. your input will be appreciated @justwise

Maybe I am not understanding you properly o BUT I am still of the opinion that you don't need to explain anything. Application requirements for PBS visas are very precise unlike visitor visas. How or why you move money into your account doesn't matter. The exchange rate on your application submission date is what will be used to verify if you have kept the required amount of money for 90 days. If you had way more than that amount, even better. If you had less than that amount at any point in time during the 90 days, your application will be rejected regardless of if you attach a letter explaining why. There's no grey area, it is black and white.

I would say the area of concern where I have seen people having issues is in proving that your relationship to your partner is genuine. You would need to submit joint account statements, birth certificate of children, screenshots of whatsapp messages, pictures, emails, flight tickets, etc.

No matter the type of visa you are applying for..moving money into the account close to your application date is always a problem because it will appear as if you are 'building' that account just for visa application and when the visa is out you return the money to owners.

Explanations you gave above are perfectly ok

@nomad26 we have most things covered except we don't run a joint account and I changed my WhatsApp phone number and deactivated the old line recently, now only have call logs and chat history from this month. We intend to use vacation pics, some of our wedding pics, pics with our child, emails and flight tickets, child's birthday cert. These should do right?

Was this super priority application?

Bytheway submitting the refusal letter was absolutely the right thing to do.

....and it panned out well. Visa decision made on Monday, got my passport today, and behold it had been stamped. The vignette stared at me on page 5. I've since been going there to check it over and over again. Thanks so much to justwise, and good luck to us all. Let's keep doing it in legitimate ways.
