Did you use the ND to gain direct entry admission for the BSc? If not, you're good to go ECA-wise. If you did, then use the NYSC period to also do a 1 year PGD.
It's good that you're already planning for your EE while waiting for NYSC, so ensure that you use the one year to scatter information about your job online. Social media, blog posts, join in career-related discourse or advocacy, and most importantly, make sure your PPA duties are in NOC A, B or 0
pls bozz I am lost here how can som1 use nysc to claim one year pdg?

Good day guys.

I have not really taken the traveling option seriously till now. So today I met a bros by sheer luck. We got talking and he gisted me about how he used to work in an insurance company here in Naija before he relocated to CA. He advised I follow the relocation route and move ASAP. He told me a lot about their standard of living and all.

He hinted me about exams I need to take over there which I will take less than 2 months on getting there and I would get decent jobs till I decide to go for any of their MBA's over there.

Note am a I hold a BSC in Insurance, am a chartered insurer and working on my Msc presently and almost. He advised I get my Masters and process the permanent residency since still below thirty.

Please house I will like to ask the following questions:

1. What process would I need to follow to get the permanent residency?

2. How long will it take me to process from the scratch to the point of getting visa?

3. What is the cost implication from the point of starting the process to the point of getting visa?

4. What Will it cost as per traveling expenses?

5. Do I need to have someone in CA to send me invite/ prepare the way for me before venturing traveling?

6. Will my 2.1 degree, CIIN certification and my masters when completed count for me in getting permanent residency and even getting a job over there?

7. I know I may be asking questions already answered several times, in that case can you please point out the link to responses to me?

Thank you

Good Morning all,

So my husband and I are starting to seriously consider Canada. I would appreciate some guidance on the education/qualification bit. Would a PMP (Project Management Professional) and BAP (Business analyst Professional) certificate influence the points?

Thanks

No they dont add to your points

Hello good people!

So after much thinking and all. I have finally decided to join this journey, instead of study route (with visa hassles I have been reading and even higher costs). I'm in the middle of NYSC to get my work experience. I just got admission to NOUN to get 2 or more certificates, but already I'm facing administrative bottlenecks which could delay graduation date, if I push forward with it.

So, my main enquiry is to seek further suggestions for smooth PGD in Nigeria. Preferably distance learning (since I have to also work). There must be excellent options out there! Abi, is Nigerian situation that bad that one can't get standard diploma in this country without issues popping up everywhere? cry cry

what administrative bottleneck are you facing? there are a good number of PGD you can take but NOUN is the best for now, being that you are in the middle of your NYSC and can study full-time. how about you study French? then write TEF. All the best

Alright bro. Thanks, I will take today and do that. But what if the cost? I that included in the page 1 too?

It's actually there but below's an updated version:

IELTS= currently N68,000 (mod/ielts), 75k (BC)

ECA= depends on the body; WES, ICES and IQAS charge between CAD 215 to 400 CAD. Transcript and courier cost depends on your school. If using wes with Nigerian degree budget ₦22,500 for waec verification, also budget to pay your institution extra for verification of your degree.

Medicals=depends on the clinic; QLife (Lagos) charges are listed here, IOM Abuja & Lagos charges N40,200? for adults.

PCC= Lagos starting from ₦3,500. Abuja ₦10,000 flat.

Visa fees=CAD 1040 for each adult; CAD 150 for children

Proof of Fund= depends on family. Refer to page one / IRCC webpage (link on page one)

Cost of sending passport following approval = check VFS website

Flight ticket= depends on the airline. Egypt is cheapest followed by Ethiopian.

Lord of Ajasa, Page one is all you need...believe me. I've been at the background for quite a while, let me help you small.

1) There are a number of process to get the permanent residence but here(in this thread), we do the express entry route mainly.

2) Only Master Jesus can tell you the exact time it will take you to process your PR. Upon submission, some have gotten PPR in a month while others have gotten in over 12 months.

3) You will pay to evaluate your highest degree with ICES or WES, pay for IELTS, pay for medical, PCC, visa fee and a certain amount is expected to be in your account before you apply.

4) I do not get this but the specified amount that's required to be in your account before you submit your application once you get ITA should be enough.

5) No, you do not need anyone to prepare/invite you.

6) Bros, your 2.1 I doubt will count. your certification and Master might give you an edge but get there first. The cart is not put before the horse.

7) GO TO THE ALMIGHTY PAGE ONE.

all the best.

The rescue you seek is in part one.. Read and digest... Diligence is the key to success here..
EE= Express Entry
IELTS= English test examination that accesses your proficiency inEnglish as a language. It tests Listening, Speaking, Writing and Reading.

As at last year answer to this question would have been a hefty no, they won't be suspicious. But of recent we've been hearing that mid-process mariages are getting increased scrutiny by IRCC.

I would say you shouldn't bother yourself too much, take one day at a time. So long as you don't have fraudulent intentions you shouldn't be afraid of suspicion. Suspicion will only lead to delay but delay is not denial.

But just as an aside (pls don't be offended at the unsolicited advise): Life is not easy as a single mother. But it's definitely easier to be a single mother than to be married to the wrong person.

I think it will raise a red flag since both of you have a child already. This falls under common law partner since you intend to marry the person in future in my opinion

I might disagree to some extent here. What if they aint living together? nothing to establish a common law relationship exist between them. A friend went through this route and he is in Canada presently.

Congratulations!!!! So happy for you. You won't understand how much. Go and prosper. Amen!

Vivacious2:
PPRRRRRRRRRR IS HERE O

It can only be God. After 10 months and 19 days.

This is my story:

IELTS- 3 times . I passed on the 3rd attempt

ITA- Jan 18

AOR- March 25

ADR- 3 times for ECA- IRCC was not able to verify my IQAS on their own system.
On my ADR third request, I finally had to request for another copy of my
IQAS to be sent to IRCC again and I also faxed it

MEP May 1
IP2- I went to IP2 same day

No movement, I applied for GCMS note in July and got it early August. That was when I knew my visa office. Criminality for hubby was is in process since Apr 30 and had not started for me.

Eligibility and security checks had not been initiated either. In August I raised CSE to ask about my application. A summary of their response below:

We verified the information you provided and are pleased to inform you that everything appears to be in order with your application. All the required documents and information have been received by the responsible office for the moment.

September 1st week, I raised another CSE, now to London VO to ask about my file and on September 19 I got an email from Kyiv VO saying- Your file has been transferred to our office for further processing. Kindly note that files are processed based on original reception date. I was sad and happy at the same time. At least there was movement. September 25 we passed the 180 days application processing timelines.

October 24, I mailed the office of Goodale, Ralph E. - M.P. I got the mail on their official website. I just googled. I did this because I have read on various platforms that they mail him blah blah. Anyway, I just said to myself it is worth a try. At least he will tell me something and it will let me know whether there was any movement on my file. I didn’t say in my mail where my visa office was so that I could confirm that his office actually checked it. That same day, they replied and I got the same information/ status on my GCMS note. My file had not been touched. The only difference was that he mentioned that my file was in Kyiv.

Two days after I got the 2 Do Not Reply email in my account in the morning. I thought it was the same mail so I opened the recent one – It was an ADR for Updated financial documents. The letter says I should disregard the letter for passport request that the correct one was an additional document required. I was still trying to understand whether they sent a PPR mail and I didn’t see it. Then after few seconds, I got another mail from my visa office in Kyiv – Please find attached the letter concerning your application for permanent residence in Canada. This is the correct letter which was sent to you via My CIC account as well.

It was the next day I realise that the 1st mail was a letter saying my visa was ready to be issued.

Quickly, we got right into work to get our documents. On October 30, we uploaded.

We waited and waited and waited

January -3rd GCMS note
Eligibility passed.
Criminality still in progress for Spouse
Part of Updated financial document was verified with Pension Company.

February 7
Added to POF (statement from another account) because we thought they might have a problem with the buffer from the pension (N500,000)

Today at 3.10pm, it was the correct PPR mail. .

Truly the journey was not easy but God made it come true.
Sorry for all the typos. Abeg I am too excited

For everyone waiting at one stage or the other, God will make your dream come true, AMEN!!
