Yes, I was told at VFS on the day of submission, that it could take more than 6days,i was even made to sign, that I acknowledge it.
Never thought it could take this long, since 9th January. My advice is exercise patience every one, as some one rightly said, visa is a privilege, and the consul has the sole rights to grant or denie.
But if you need your passport for other things, withdraw.
I will need my passport for other things by April so if by 1st week of March, if my passport is not released, I will write for withdrawal.
Still wishing us the best. some thing keeps telling me that some of us will get messages from VFS between now and tomorrow 10pm to pick up your passport.
Once again, all the best guys

Are there different rules for study visa between Lagos and abuja ?
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Norchikevents: 8:51am On Feb 20, 2019
I applied for study visa since January 17th and I have not gotten a response. Meanwhile, school has started. Is there any way I can contact the embassy? The numbers on the net are not connecting. Even their mail bounces back. Going forth to VFS is not helping issues. Please I'd appreciate any help.

I just received a call from the high commission. I was asked for police clearance from Germany where I did my masters. The caller then requested to know when I left germany after which she said she would get back to me.

Anyone have similar experience

Please can you share with me the number that called you

Good morning

Do you have an idea how much should one have as bank statement to be able to apply ?

preferably 6 months bank statement is the best option. It gives you more leverage.

Please, What email address did you write to?
Metucity:

I had to send a mail to the SA Home affairs directly who I believe is attending to my case because they replied me and apologized for the inconveniences they caused me. Later they sent me another mail requesting for my visa application ref number. I forwarded all the documents and even attached a letter from my hod requesting them to expedite the process. So I believe they are already on it and hopefully it will be out soon.

That means nobody got an alert. This shows that it was just a rouse, giving people false hope. Quite disappointing. You can just see how these people are playing with us, Nigerians. Our government is not speaking for us. Nobody is speaking for us. Its a pity. I dont stay in Lagos, Abuja or Ph, I would have been paying them a visit from time to time till they grow tired of me. It is really a pity

Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by bibike123: 10:40pm On Feb 20, 2019
Got theirs from where sir? Abuja or Lagos, and when did they submit.

I think most of us here applied in Lagos, and submitted between 2nd to 17th January.
I submitted on the 9th of January

Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Johny2015: 6:31pm On Feb 21, 2019
A friend applied for a study visa in the last month of November and got a response in the last month of January.
I also applied during the same week (same school and same programme), however, I am yet to get a response regarding my application.
