Seems all school in Canada requires application fees

Frankrobbn1:

Firstly, start by searching the below shortlisted universities in Canada which offer Master's in Nursing:

1-) University of Alberta

2-) Thompson Rivers University
Kamloops, Canada

3-) McGill University
Québec, Canada

4-) McMaster University
Hamilton, Canada

5-) Laurentian University
Greater Sudbury, Canada

6-) University of Western Ontario
London, Canada

7-) University of Lethbrige

8-) University of Manitoba
Winnipeg, Canada

9-) University of Northern British Columbia
Terrace, Canada.

You may likely get scholarship for the number 1,3, and 4 universities.

Once you have successfully gotten your acceptance letter from any of the DLI, you can come back here and ask questions regarding the study visa application process, and we will be happy to assist you.

All the best!

Greetings to everyone on this platform. I have been a a follower of this thread for some time now and have been continually astonished at the level of relevant information being passed here and by the help being rendered. I humbly wish to tap from the wealth of knowledge of everyone here.

I am a graduate of Agricultural Economics from the the Federal University of Technology, Owerri. I completed my program October last year with a cumulative GPA of 4.40 and about 4.70 in my last two years of study. Currently, I work at my uncles company (we're into importation of household items) while waiting for service.

I intend going for a masters in ag.econs in Canada, hopefully by September of 2020. From my research, I've found 2 schools which I plan on applying to (however, I intend adding one more to the list). They are:
University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon and
University of Alberta, Edmonton.
NB: these schools specify that securing a supervisor before applying is not compulsory.

Now, I have a few questions.
1. Can I apply to these schools without first securing a supervisor and still be considered for funding?

2. How competitive are the schools above and what are my chances of being admitted given my profile above?

3. I plan on begining my applications as early as possible against September next year. When will be considered too early or late to start forwarding my applications?

I must also state that my clearance has not been fully completed due to the recently called off strike and as such my transcript and statement of result are not ready.

I really do hope my story is not too long and boring. I await useful nuggets and guidelines from y'all in the house. Thank you in anticipation.

Please everyone, I'm still waiting for answers to these questions.

Good morning good people
I recently got admission for a MBA, after 12yrs working exp but am comtemplating on applying for a study visa with or without ny family. I have 3 kids with d least being 2yrs. I believe applying without my family will show stronger ties at home...but as a woman..wont leaving a 2yr old back at home look somehow to the VO?
I read someone experience here abt being denied cos the VO tot abt who will care for her child while shes studying in CN. Although we plan that my huby will still apply for WP once i get settled in sch.
Kindly advice on d best option.

It happened to a friend when she called the school that was when we got the information
So please do well to call the admissions unit.

@frankrobbn

Documents that are meant to be notarized are documents that doesn't bear an official stamp or signature. Supposing your documents have this, you don't necessarily need to notarize them.

Yes majority of schools in Canada require application fees. Only on a rare occurrence will schools like university of Saskatchewan and some others waive application fees on behalf of the applicant.

Now for someone to edit this your SOP in this format below, the person would need to first copy and paste before starting the editting (too much stress haba). My advice, remove this your SOP from here (plagiarism is real), take it to MS Word and come back and plead with any of our gurus (not me, got no experience) to help with the editting. My 2cents..

Hello gatsbym4,

Please crop out your SOP from your post. Your SOP tell a lot about you in the presence of the visa officer. Hence, shouldn't be pasted on a faceless public forum like this. You can PM any knowledgeable persons on this thread to assist you in vetting and making possible correction(s) where applicable rather than pasting it here and risk your write up being plagiarized by someone else.

Hi,
I will answer your questions to the best of my knowledge:
1.If you are applying for a thesis based masters (you will need to find a supervisor) now depending on the dept, it meant be a compulsory clause before submitting application or they might require you to do this after. ( my advice get a supervisor before submitting your application to save yourself time and money).
But if it is a non thesis based you do not need to find a supervisor.
2. Your CGPA is good. But there are other factors like recommendation letter, funding, motivation lettrr/statement of intent. All these are considered.
N/B most graduate admissions in Canada are competitive but with a good application you will be fine.
3.I cant specifically give you an answer to this question cos it varies with schools and programs. Just keep checking for when application will be opened for fall 2020. But that would be probably from June... or so(not sure).
But if I were you I would use this time to start drafting my introductory mail, prepare my academic CV and transcript to help secure a supervisor(ie if your are going for a thesis based masters) trust me this is a serious job.
Good luck

Hello kooolkunlex,

No one can actually tell about your Visa or admission chances at this point in time. Do the needful by sending your official transcript to MUN so as to finalize your application.

Have you received any staggering response concerning your long awaited application? I remember you were complaining some time last year that you were sent medical request and since then you've not gotten any update from IRCC. What about now?

Hello Madam,

You can apply for your study permit along side with your family provided you have adequate funds to cater for their stay while in Canada. You can't travel to Canada for a 2 years Master's program and leave a 2yr old baby behind in Nigeria. The visa officer will certainly question your intent to study in Canada considering the baby is a toddler and will require your mother care at this early stage in life and sometimes to be breast feed. Who will do all of these when you're away? You can show adequate funds for their stay as Dependent child cost 3KCAD for each of your kids, while your (spouse) dependent adult cost 4KCAD. In summary, try as much as you can to gather the list of these DOCUMENTS FROM A SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT FOR A FAMILY APPLICATION.

Feel free to ask questions and I will provide clarity to your concerns.
