Me- ecpi university and university of Houston
V. O - do you write any test
Me- no,it was waived by the school
V. O- why do you choose this course
Me - I have the passion to save people's live, to assist people to live a better live.........
V. O - cuts me off , What will you specialize in
Me- health care administration and management
V. O - what will you specialize in..... He asked again
Me - health care administrator
V. O - are you married
Me - yes
V. O - do you have kids
Me - yes
V. O- how many
Me - 2
V. O - who will be paying
Me- my husband

I also want to ask a question on the ds-160 form which says " your intended period of stay in the USA " should I still answer it by saying 2 years knowing fully well that my course will take me up to 2.5 years. As they say they only issue visa for 2 years. Please I need your opinion on this. Thanks

Your responses were too broad and vague. It lacked depth. However, I see that the VO kept cutting you off and wouldn't let you finish your statement. My guess is, based on your online visa application, she may have seen some discrepancies and wasn't just convinced. I always tell people to fill those forms really well. Also, when you're giving you responses, kindly do away with "It is because". Just go straight to the point. And telling the VO that the US education system is the best is so cliche. Trust me, they know those are rehearsed responses.
Your "Why did you choose this school response", Try as much to start with a unique answer. For example, This course will give me the necessary skills to plan and coordinate patient services. I have a keen mind and a gift for organization and would like to apply blah blah in the service of humanity. Your response about wanting to save people's lives is a faux. You are not the caregiver. Just my thoughts. I may be wrong. Good luck on your next interview.

dont even go there, they will discourage you.
I went there after my second visa denial and the woman used me as example to other students. walspring can relate grin grin.

In education USA at the embassy they say you cant study in the US if you are using GCE result,
you cant study in the US if you have been denied US visa before
you cant study in the US if you have been out of school for more than 6 months or there about
you cant study in the US if you dont have a direct sponsor
and of course you cant study in the US if you are using OLUWOLE BANK STATEMENT grin grin

EducationUSA said i was not qualified to study in the US but to God be all the glory i am in the US now with a GCE Result, 3 Previous Visa denials, been out of school for more than 3 years and my uncle that we dont bear same last name is my sponsor.. (i wish i had their number i would have called them to tell them to stop discouraging Nigerian students)

you can go to them for extra knowledge but DONT LET WHAT THEY SAY DISCOURAGE YOU,. GOOD LUCK

I sent you pm

Hi everyone. It's been a while! I remember how my journey started in 2015. This forum was my training ground. Till date when anyone wants information from me on how to pursue their academic dreams in the US, I refer them back to this forum. All you need is patience. Congrats to everyone who got their Visas and good luck to those still in the process.

Between, any Nairalanders in Maryland/Washington, DC? I just moved from Texas and looking to make new friends!

Wow wow wow!!!
I'm so glad to jam this forum this morning in my despiration and in Yoruba (Nigeria ti su mi) meaning I'm tired of Nigeria.
I saw the previous parts (or should I say seasons smiley ).

Please, I know my questions might not resonate with the current flow of issue on this platform but try and help a brother build hope again and provide guidance. God help us all.

I graduated from FUNAAB 2017
BSc Chemistry, CGPA 4.47/5.0
Finished NYSC 2018

I do Have a resilient passion for MSc in Chemical and Process Engineering and if not together, only Chemical Engr will do in the U.S. (BSc Chemistry is eligible for MSc Chemical Engr ), Due to my no sponsor at all situation, I would need a concrete assistanship over there and I go survive somehow. I know you guys understands the step by step strategies of abroad schooling. Abeg help your brother angry

Since July 2018, job job job, ( to gather money for GRE and TOEFL cause people say it is needed) but No!!! All my country industry want is a Chemical Engr... Most of them... And I wouldn't let go of the Industry, it's my dream to be a Chemist for industries, proceed to being a process and R&grin person, formulations and Co. And the Engineering part will cover up for BSc Chemistry weaknesses

I have made up my mind to gather the money for those exams by God's grace.

So friends, as u can see I need a thorough foundational knowledge on MSc in the US. I've got to further. And I'm 25 will be +1 this June. Time is running.
The best give u can impart to me now is Knowledge... It will *MAKE* me

THANK YOU FRIENDS....
WILL BE ANTICIPATING YOUR HELP...
GOD BLESS YOU!!!

There is more funding for msc chemistry and it's less competitive than chemical engineering. There are some schools that don't require GRE for MSc chemistry but you will hardly see any engineering program that doesn't require GRE in USA. My advice is for you to stick with MSc chemistry so you can get funding easily but if your passion is engineering, prepare for GRE and give it a try.
