First I am not Godwin by name. I am not in any way deterring anyone here from helping. I once had that instinct too not until I learnt why Nigerians avoid other Nigerians in the diaspora like a plague. Truth is, I thank God I am alive after the sad experience. Wishing everyone here and those home success in their pursuits. I am just here to read now.

Apologies, I went through our email cos your name rings a bell came up as "goodwin daniel" and ayoobmaccigraham .

It is well, all I know is its not about Nigerians ; there are just good people and bad people.
Sorry you have to go through what you went through but that still does not mean you should not help the few good ones.

Just my thought #peace

People here aren't responding much again cause of the ill discretions of those they helped prior before now and when they got here, they turn wolves. Nigeria as a country needs spiritual cleansing. I have learnt my own bitter lessons too.

Hi macromyk,

The first thing to do is to identify a school in Ireland that offers a course you will want to study at the masters level considering your area of study.

Get the necessary documents which will be used in applying to the school ready.

Applying to the school.

The school gives you a place by sending you an offer letter.

you accept the offer by paying tuition fee to the school.
The receipt of the payment and other documents are used to apply to the embassy for a study visa.

cheers

Thank you bro , this was helpful
meanwhile after getting the receipt of payment and accepting their offer , would getting the visa be guaranteed?

1. Are you sure your university is cool with partial payment?
2. Yes it is standard requirement to show any balance on your tuition fees alongside your living expenses when applying for your visa

I am aware Nigerians love risk, don't take funds out before your visa is approved
Re: GENERAL Irish (student)visa & Work Permit-New THREAD*** by Sholsp: 2:42pm On Mar 01, 2019
Thanks for your response Icas ng, yeah the Uni is ok with 50% payment upfront, which is 6k euros.uni is DIT.

Good day, when I was seeking admission into Ireland and I came here there was a motion or talk that says that you only get a job if you study IT related courses, this isn’t true. Yes you’re likely to get a job easily and quicker if you graduate with a good result in IT related course but you also would be successful with other courses as well. Have a plan, make research on the kinda job positions that can keep you here after masters in various departments and study and graduate with a good result. You can boost your CV by doing internships in huge organizations here and it’s not difficult to get in, pass interview and tests. My point is, don’t go and do a course you have no idea in because you think that’s the best course ever, you would likely fail like a thief. Shalom.

ICaSNg and everyone here I have a 3rd class degree, I intend applying for a Postgraduate certificate program not pgd are there chances of getting visa as I like the course program.i guess with pgcerts I can get a program for masters in future.?

Thirdly do you think it's advisable going for a course program that is partially done in school and mainly online..

How about the visa chances?
Re: GENERAL Irish (student)visa & Work Permit-New THREAD*** by GrasstoGrace: 7:15pm On Mar 03, 2019
For my peepo with 3rd class seekin for a scholarship, I'm sorry to hurt you but how can you even think about it.. Even 2:2 grads have very bleak prospects let alone..

For the visa, don't let anyone mislead you, no one here can decide/determine the outcome of a visa, it's left for the VO's to decide that, you just do proper documentation, pray and be positive..

Hello,

A PGC is equivalent to level 7 and you need to have an academic qualification at level 8 before you can be accepted into a level 9 i.e Masters program .
In-Class or Online degrees are relatively the same. I mean especially for PGD or MSc programs you cover the same modules but an online program is cheaper than In-class program and you don't have to hustle for a visa and its tenable anywhere in the world so far the school and the course is fully accredited and approved.

For those applying for scholarship, my simple trick at evaluating myself is e.g will I employ myself? Can I give myself scholarship if I was part of the Scholarship team? What do I need to see in a candidate to award such a scholarship and do I have such?

If you have exceptional answers to such questions, try your luck...

e.g Employers look for different things in each employee or applicant, acquire more than enough relevant experience and be exceptional.
I have a 3rd class client working with GLO as a high ranked IT expert and she's applying for a masters degree ; She has acquired excellent grades in 2 PGD programs and also a PGC program; so tell me do you think an employer will pick a fresh 1st class graduate over her ? I don't think so.

Just define what you want , pray, pursue it and the SKY is just the BEGINNING!

Finally, Ireland visa approval depends 95% on your documentation and justification of not studying your intended course in Nigeria or any where else.
But definitely better than Canada, Australia and even the US.

All the best.
