If you handle your car well as a professional, nothing unexpected will happen. For instance, during last Christmas-New Year holidays, I travelled to Benin with my rental car. Called car owner before going and he said he doesn't care where I go to so long as his car is in good shape and I remit my rent. Which I did.

Travelling to Benin, I was on a steady 70km/hr on the bad portions of the express and 120km/hr on the smooth portions. Nothing unexpected happened. Biko, those cars are not eggs, they are meant to eat up tens of kilometers by the day. Our roads are bad, true, but a professional driver will still be able to manage himself through the roads without damaging anything substantial. There's a world of difference if you crawl into a crater at 2km/hr and speed into the same crater at 120km/hr.

Ok

how did you fix the problem?

I went to Olowu street off Mobolaji bank Anthony Ikeja, where they changed the air filter and filled the gas, now it’s perfect.

5k after plenty begging, they will charge about 8-10k if you don’t know anyone there.

Besides the guy didn’t have a shop so I guess he really needed the money.

10k for what lol? Best thing to do is buy ur preferred filter 500h, buy ur preferred gas 800 for small tin, (but I use "jek" German gas) give him 2k for workmanship, d filter won't even take u 5sec if you decide to fix it yourself

I cleaned my dirty airfilter my self, I deeped it into hot soapy water for 2 hours then rinse it off with cold water and afterward, my car ac has been working perfectly infact my riders complain that my ac is too cold and I av to switch it off at interval
The cost of replacing air filter is to high

See how people miss opportunities. When Farehz talks about positioning and being smart, some will eat him raw.

Ikeja to Abeokuta is 103km, to and fro is 206km. A smart driver knows that the hours of 10am-3pm are the less busy times and would have explored the opportunity first instead of dismissing and dissing the plan.

Anytime I enter uber, I try to engage them to see if I can meet anyone on this forum and I rarely do. So this forum is just a microcosm of the whole.

So my trip was a bit uncertain and I could not contact the first guy that indicated interest here till after 9am and he was on a trip far away. He was very courteous and I've just saved his number for offline trips.

Anyway I just booked a nearby uber driver and we negotiated. He knew Abeokuta and took me at 15k, I didn't want to press down the charge cos I know where it pinches.

Now a good 1.8l or less car will go to and fro with 4k fuel and have 12k without Uber or taxify cut.

Anyway we left by 10 and are back now (3pm). The roads were okay. The guy will probably continue his hustle and make 100k grin before the day ends.

I'm about to take a loan to buy a car for ehailing.
I have to buy a car of between 1.7 to 2million. To pay back in 2 years.
Corolla being the popular option will cost me 2million.
I'm considering a direct Belgium Audi A4 1.8t 2005/06 for about 1.5million. Meaning it'll take lesser time to pay back the loan.
The corolla is more rugged, the Audi is cheaper. I have a loan to pay! do you see my dilemma?
To collect money dey sweet o, na to pay back dey pinch.
What would you do?

Nice analysis but u have to consider the risk in doing an out of town trip that's why companies pay allowances when u travel out of town. They don't say because you are being paid your salary so you will be taken to the moon and back with no extra incentive. Let's try to appreciate work done in Nigeria. The driver is just lucky you got back early, if u stayed till evening he would have still got same fare, trust me, he would have made same thing if he was in town jejely.

05/06 audi A4? I guess it's the B6 generation. U didn't state the transmission type which was paired with the 1.8T engine. That audi makes sense for personal use and not Ehailing. The powertrain/suspension won't survive the abuse of lagos roads, besides the sump is made of aluminium which could easily be perforated, a phenomenon which could lead to catastrophic oil loss which can wreck the engine. You are much better off with a corolla. Due to the peculiar nature of how things work here, a Japanese vehicle will be better off. The audi also has a horrible resale value.

If you are Uber Partner or Driver in Lagos, kindly share your experience here:

- Considering the unpredictable traffic situation in some parts of Lagos, is it lucrative?
- How much on the average do you make weekly, working from morning till evening daily excluding weekends?
- What are the challenges specific to Lagos with being a partner or driver with Uber?
- Would you recommend a friend to be a partner with Uber.
- Any other useful info...

I need this survey/shared experience because I have thought of being a partner with Uber. I have a driver that is assigned to my family. My family's daily itinerary is fixed and this makes my driver and my car idle from 8am to 8pm daily. Registering the car and the driver with Uber has been considered to roll extra bucks into the family's purse and increase my driver's take-home as he will get commission from money made from Uber, apart from the salary he is being paid presently.

Your comments will be appreciated!

Forget these lazy driver way full here abeg, entitled lots they are. They will just be complaining of request up and down but will fail to make best use of the little opportunity available to them. They do not know that opportunity when is comes, does look like challenge.

This morning, I posted a not so attractive trip. Not because I can't easily get an Uber or a taxi to take me/us there, but because I want someone here to just benefit from what I wanted to do today, that's why I used brother in my post.

The guy that picked me today, we just booked hotel for him sef, him no fit drive go house, that's aside the money he made. And it continues till Thursday when he will drop us at the international and local airport respectively. But a lot of people passed it by because it's not what their lazy imagination wants.

A lot of drivers in Uber and Taxify are phucking entitledled; Fahrenz and dru23 we're right after all.

A very unnecessary line to use

The driver is providing a service, and you are paying for it. Stop making it look like you are paying him for free and doing him a favor

Before you start seeing 15k as 15billion, I've taken someone offline from Dolphin to Alpha beach, to and fro, and he paid me 15k without any negotiation

The guy's offer was 15k....Simple. What has laziness got to do with that? So no uber driver made 12k today Abi? Or going to Abeokuta to and fro for 15k is the best deal someone can ever encounter?

This is business oga.... Make your offer and whoever it pleases will take it. Dont make people look stupid because they declined your offer.. Over a thousand offline trips were done today. Your own is just one
