Breaking: "Winners Chapel Constructing 1000 Mega Watts Gas Power Plant In Ota"

VOC has obtained exclusive reports from Bishop Oyedepo's Canaancity project which reveals that Bishop David Oyedepo led winners chapel is planning to construct 1000MW project in canaancity Ota which would give 24/7 hours elecrtricity to the 15,000 housing unit estate, the church's air strip, faith theatre and covenant university's other campus.

It would be noted that winners chapel already runs a 15MW plant which powers the church campus and covenant university almost without any interruption.. VOC can reliably confirm that members are already relocating to the church estate at canaancity. However, we admit that VOC as at the time of this report does not have the entirety of the church's plan for the construction of power plants. We however would get in touch with church officials and give our readers a comprehensive report.

Lie! what would they be doing with 1000MW? How many heavy industries are within that vicinity ? 1000MW can serve the entire Ogun state .
Don't say so, the church has plans for mass housing on high rise buildings in its later phases. So when you are talking about 24/7 electricity it may be needed. And I know someone like oyedepo will sell to industries in Ogun state. The church was initially buying light from one plant in ogun around 2013 so nothing stops them from selling also.

That church(winners) runs like a corporate and business entity.

Nice.
Better than d competition to own the biggest church building.
Even if they aren't adding it to the national grid,Nigerians will have more electricity at their disposal when winners chapel goes off the national grid.

Amazing stuff... But they already have one fully functional power plant at canaancity phase 1.. I think they are doing the plants in little bits of 5-15MW which is ok. It may be impossible to construct one single plant that gives 1000MW.

I don't understand the regulations though because rccg plant is 25MW which exceeds the regulations people are citing.
Hopefully, they are able to give light to surrounding communities as was early planned.

Just imagine a church that is less than a local government in Nigeria constructing 1000 MW plus the 15MW they already have that is functioning, can you imagine if the various useless satanic government from 1979 till the current Oldman in Abuja embarks in similar project the issue of power would have been addressed, why not allow 3 or more local government in each state of Nigeria construct 500 MW yearly, state governors should construct 1000MW while the federal government should construct 2000 MW yearly, Nigeria will have 24/7 Power but they are looting and stealing.

God bless Bishop Oyedepo, l don't care wether it is tithes, offering, peace offerings, lamb offerings, special seeds etc but one thing I know, is that, it is working in the winners Chapel, Buhari should beg oyedepo to come and teach him governance shocked

And they don't want to be taxed?
Anyway, its just a rumour and impossible with current NERC regulations. If you generate more than 20MW, you have to pump it into the national grid first. Its a stupid law, but it's the current law. So unless they want to generate and sell to the whole country, a 1000MW plant is a no no. Better multiple 15mw in several locations(which will be costlier to operate and maintain)
Nigeria has stupid laws sha

God keep blessing the churches in Nigeria against all odds.

Private investors are the key to Nigeria achieving stable electricity.
Imagine if all the money going into the oil and gas sector were chanelled into power production.
The govt just has to find a way to streamline the power sector, because investors aren't putting much money there because they are not guaranteed of their maximum ROI.
We need to make the power sector profitable, just like the oil and gas sector, and we just might get it right.

Did anyone tax you for the generator you own in ur house? If anything the govt should be paying the church...
Govt is supposed to provide electricity, roads and all that, but you have organizations having to intervene and you are still asking for taxes that are not well managed.
Do you think Oyedepo's house alone can consume 1000MW. Is it not some Nigerians that would benefit from the light?

They are constructing

They are planning to construct

Issokay

VOC does not have the entirety of the church's plan. Yet you rushed to break the news of a project which will cost about $1billion!!! The capacity is also more than the listed users can use.

So many gaps in the report.

Then, who is VOC?
