They can build Ten million watts Or whatever, They are still Crooks, who are in the business of selling false hopes.

Crooked Church and pastors. I pity their gullible worshippers.

If a church on its own can generate 1000MW of electricity and the whole Nigeria over nearly 60yrs is dependent on less than 6000MW, we should be very ashamed of ourselves as a nation and we should lay curses on our leadership past and present for the developmental delays they have caused this nation.

Peter Obi handed many government ran schools to back to the church and in a year, Anambra started topping the WAEC chart.

Thank you Winners, Nigerian Christians are proud of you unlike the fake pastor.

Anyway, yoruba moslems will hate this good news.

January 2019, FG shared over 640b Naira.

Is there no way to pull out 380b Naira monthly to acquire a 1000MW power plant each month?

If we do that consistently for 12 months, we would have added 12000MW to the grid in a year. For 4 years, we would have added 48000MW to the grid by the time Buhari is leaving office.

These things are not rocket science folks. It's not an issue of corruption either. It's simply a lack of a blueprint.

We can use this same "plan" to set up at least 10 working refineries in this country and upgrade to 100% capacity. 100b Naira will build a 24,000 BPD refinery.

You can build a house without a well detailed building plan, but you'll cry when you see how much time and resources you wasted. Corruption is NOT the problem, Nigeria has no real plan, just generalized plans which are as good as day dreams angry

Amazing stuff... But they already have one fully functional power plant at canaancity phase 1.. I think they are doing the plants in little bits of 5-15MW which is ok. It may be impossible to construct one single plant that gives 1000MW.

I don't understand the regulations though because rccg plant is 25MW which exceeds the regulations people are citing.
Hopefully, they are able to give light to surrounding communities as was early planned.
Egbin power plant in Ikorodu generates 1320 mw using 4 turbines. All you need do is to apply for licence

lol,to start with, Otta is most industrialized town in the whole of Nigeria(can google that) secondly, winners chapel is also currently building the biggest housing estate in the whole of West Africa "cannan city"(can also search that).
So What exactly is the problem you having? is the 1000mw to much for all that winners chapel has i.e faith tabernacle, faith theatre, covenant university, faith academy, covenant university secondary school, covenant university stadium(world class) Canaan city(over 250,000 houses to be built) Canaan land airstrip, Hebron FM, Canaan land bakery ,banks etc

Or you think they don't have the financial capacity to do so..

P.S =I'm neither a fan nor a member, but I stay I Otta and I know how massive cannanland is and it's still expanding day by day..

Nigeria is a third/ fourth world country and power consumption in Nigeria is very low, including Ota, despite the presesence of the so-called industries at Ota, 1000MW would still be in excess, even for entire Ogun state, esp when you also consider that the power supply In the state is not going to come from this fictitious power plant alone. The cost implication(about a billion dollar) is also a factor to consider. pls read this https://www.engineering.com/DesignerEdge/DesignerEdgeArticles/ArticleID/10829/1000-MW-Generating-Facility-to-Power-One-Million-Homes.aspx and https://www.engineering.com/DesignerEdge/DesignerEdgeArticles/ArticleID/10829/1000-MW-Generating-Facility-to-Power-One-Million-Homes.aspx

I'm not against winners chapel or Oyedepo but I'm just giving you reasons why it's not even conceivable in the first place

Crooked pastors and Churches Appears to be Running/Developing and doing The Jobs of the Nigerian Government And some people are Applauding it.

Why do Nigerians even bother Voting Governors, president, APC, PDP and Goverment officials into Government?

They might aswell let Crooked pastors owners of Church businesses to Run the Country. Atleast they are not looting the treasury. sad Oh! i forgot, There is one crooked Pastor osibande vice president Already in Government. Proofs my point.
Re: Winners Chapel Constructing 1000MW Plant In Ota by frowland(m): 10:46am On Mar 17
What will power this 1000MW? Gas from Dangote refinery of course! Else I don't see how this will be feasible as you MUST locate your generating plant close to raw material.
Seems the man is planning ahead.

And they don't want to be taxed?
Anyway, its just a rumour and impossible with current NERC regulations. If you generate more than 20MW, you have to pump it into the national grid first. Its a stupid law, but it's the current law. So unless they want to generate and sell to the whole country, a 1000MW plant is a no no. Better multiple 15mw in several locations(which will be costlier to operate and maintain)
Nigeria has stupid laws sha

More like Nigerian law at it again. But then, what will dey use 1000mw for? That's more than the current needs of Ogun state as a whole.

Better than d competition to own the biggest church building.
Even if they aren't adding it to the national grid,Nigerians will have more electricity at their disposal when winners chapel goes off the national grid.
KEDC will soon partner with them for supply

Seems you are myopic. I bet the cost they'll use in building it will be just 5% of what our inefficient thieving government will use. Nigeria can build 10 of these in two years is we are effective. We are used to darkness that large effective power plants now sound like rocket science to us. We claim to be the biggest economy in Africa yet South Africa produces 20 times more power than us.
If that church could have built a 50 thousand capacity auditorium in less than a year and made a decade old university better than our glorified Unithis and Unithat then they will certainly do this without stress.
The report says they are expanding with thousands of housing units, airstrip etc. Who says industries for employment cannot be added. In a developed country, that 1000MW would just be given to Alimosho alone, talkless of the entire Lagos.

I hope the did a thorough Environmental Impact Assessment for this project.

Its assumed that it will be a gas powered plant possibly a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine...the big question is how they intend to get pipped gas to the location of the plant if they intend sitting it inb Ogun State undecided

Are you ok? Just 1000MW can serve a state with 25% of Nigeria heavy industries? In a sane country, that 1000 MW will just be for Alimosho alone. Go ask South Africa that produces 20 times our power generation. We are far far far behind.

That's why I kept telling people that the nigeria government policies are all designed to keep nigeria stagnant..... In next 30years you will still meet nigeria @this level if not worse. Because their citizens are dumb and don't ask questions, they make joke out of everything even when their future is being looted away, you hear them talking rubbish....their govt make policies you see them jumping and feeling happy, some don't even care to review that policy and what the outcome will be....even their media and news channels will be doing ONE STUPID PROGRAM AND INVITE PEOPLE TO GOSSIP AND ARGUE AWAY TIME and nigerians are watching it even calling in on the program to contribute on a meaningless TOPIC. I HAVE LOST HOPE ON THE NAME NIGERIA.... ALL MY HOPE IS ON THE BIRTH OF A NEW NATION IN AFRICA
