Amazing stuff... But they already have one fully functional power plant at canaancity phase 1.. I think they are doing the plants in little bits of 5-15MW which is ok. It may be impossible to construct one single plant that gives 1000MW.

I don't understand the regulations though because rccg plant is 25MW which exceeds the regulations people are citing.
Hopefully, they are able to give light to surrounding communities as was early planned.

I doubt it will be impossible, dangote sugar (Savanah sugar company) in Numan has 2 single 950 megawatt power plant, everything Dangote generates in that factory is 1900 megawatt with just 2 turbine using sugar cane waste to generate steam for the turbine.

In my opinion, Nigeria needs visionary leaders like Bishop David Oyedepo, to run the affairs of our country. If the cleric would, it would be a great service to his Nation, and to the faith. A lack of purposeful leadership is the reason Nigeria is where it is today.

We need restructuring, period. There are visionaries everywhere. It is the rocky ground that they simply cannot cultivate. Elon Musk was a 15 year old nobody when he left the dark continent. Today the civilised world is hoping for his interstellar success. If he remained here what will have happened. Just watch as the Bishop will soon hit the shallow bedrock of institutional resistance formulated by the custodians of the status quo, the almighty owners of Nigeria.

Thank goodness he is a fighter.

In the US today States offer incentives to ordinary folks to instal solar panels. They pay you for the excess electricity you pump into the grid and cut your bills when they give you power (for instance at night) as a further incentive for you to buy more panels and storage capacity.

In Nigeria you buy poles, conductors and install transformer, they willl frustrate your life with bribe requests to energize it and then completely take it over if you are not willing to let them overload it or give you a maintenance bill to send power into it all ex-your normal monthly bill..... is this a sane society?.

Nigerian Government should be handed to church, these guys knows their onions.

If we hand our government to them within the four years the dullard will waste, Nigeria will experience a drastic positive changes in every sectors.

In western countries now, like the us and the uk, they permit people to pay taxes to churches, why?

Because they realise that they cannot meet the welfare needs of certain folks in local communities faster than the church.

And so churches that have purposeful humanitarian efforts are granted thay status and also receives financial supoort from the government.....

Nigeria has a long way to go in this regard

The title is misleading. 100MW and not 1,000MW.

100MW will take care of the whole CanaanCity.

To solve power issue is quite easier than many people are made to believe... Infact, it's easy. Just vote a working government and voila, in 4 years, u are already enjoying electricity
"a working government"..... In this country, that's asking for a lot, infact it's asking for the impossible.
At least a working ministry of power.

Don't say so, the church has plans for mass housing on high rise buildings in its later phases. So when you are talking about 24/7 electricity it may be needed. And I know someone like oyedepo will sell to industries in Ogun state. The church was initially buying light from one plant in ogun around 2013 so nothing stops them from selling also.

That church runs like a corporate entity.

According to the report , the church is building only 15000 homes, 1000MW can power 1million homes even in a rich city like NY .see this https://www.engineering.com/DesignerEdge/DesignerEdgeArticles/ArticleID/10829/1000-MW-Generating-Facility-to-Power-One-Million-Homes.aspx. You should also consider the cost which is in the neighborhood of $1bn.

Great news... Hope government won't force them to connect to the national grid when it becomes operational

Just wait and see, later you will understand that Church is the last hope for this Nation Nigeria. I hope you know church is the people not the building..... God is using the church (people) to do what the people in government can't do.

Just imagine a church that is less than a local government in Nigeria constructing 1000 MW plus the 15MW they already have that is functioning, can you imagine if the various useless satanic government from 1979 till the current Oldman in Abuja embarks in similar project the issue of power would have been addressed, why not allow 3 or more local government in each state of Nigeria construct 500 MW yearly, state governors should construct 1000MW while the federal government should construct 2000 MW yearly, Nigeria will 24/7 Power but they are looting and stealing.

God bless Bishop Oyedepo, l don't care wether it is tithes, offering, peace offerings, lamb offerings, special seeds etc but one thing I know, is that, it is working in the winners Chapel, Buhari should beg oyedepo to come and teach him governance shocked

So what do you want Mikano dem to do?

Lie! what would they be doing with 1000MW? How many heavy industries are within that vicinity ? 1000MW can serve the entire Ogun state .

Ogun state has the highest number of Industries in Nigeria. He surely would sell to them. Lafrange, Dangote Cement, Tower Aluminium, Distileries, and many other big Chinese industries hv their factories in Ogun state. Oyedepo will make money selling to them.

I concur.

The Church has some of the most patriotic and self motivated workers in Nigeria. They give their all to see that the things associated with the house of God excel. This is comparable only to some of the world’s best blue chip companies.

Nations with such level of citizen patriotism always do well sooner or later!

Smart leaders use religions or other rallying factors to galvanize their people / country to success rather than dividing the people. NIGERIA is too divided!!!

lol,to start with, Otta is most industrialized town in the whole of Nigeria(can google that) secondly, winners chapel is also currently building the biggest housing estate in the whole of West Africa "cannan city"(can also search that).
So What exactly is the problem you having? is the 1000mw to much for all that winners chapel has i.e faith tabernacle, faith theatre, covenant university, faith academy, covenant university secondary school, covenant university stadium(world class) Canaan city(over 250,000 houses to be built) Canaan land airstrip, Hebron FM, Canaan land bakery ,banks etc

Or you think they don't have the financial capacity to do so..

P.S =I'm neither a fan nor a member, but I stay I Otta and I know how massive cannanland is and it's still expanding day by day..
