What do you mean by easy? if you want to go for outside Africa or Middle East, this is what you have to go through unfortunately.
Lol those countries she suggested have a tougher process than the US

Good morning all,

Please @Justwise, when travelling as a group for a program, is it a must the group should have their interview fixed on same day and same location.

Much as this seem not far from correct, I believe that those may be easier if you are genuinely qualified for a visa and in order with requirements (which are almost straightforward). They scrutinise both your submitted documents and you na, which the Americans won’t do. You can easily marshal your points with them via your application without being interviewed as usual and get your visa approved. In the US case, easy as we assume it to be on the surface, the case can be different and you may just leave the interview hall even dumber than you came in with the minutest mistake you or “even the VO” makes so to speak. You and I know that there’s a marked difference between that Section 214(b) generic paper people get and the UK visa refusal paper, we know.... Anyways, for me, I got the US visa first however on first attempt without actually breaking a sweat, but from understanding today I will say it will be easier to first get a UK visa before that of the US if you are really qualified for both with unequivocal proofs.

Morning all, a lot of useful information going on here. I would like to ask if anyone got a U.S visa here & successfully got a student stay when he/she got to U.S by enrolling in a school. If yes, how feasible is to apply for a child dependency F1/F2 with it. Thanks in advance

I don’t think it’s a must but if you can book a group one. If that is not possible then each member of the group should inform the VO during the interview that it’s a group trip .

Another angle.... The uncertainty of U.S Visa is a source of concern.

Hello All,

My mom and sister applied for visitor visas to attend my graduation in May 2019. Also, I will be getting married after my graduation, both events are 2 weeks apart. I'm not sure if mentioning the wedding part will send a wrong impression or have any effect on the decision. I want them to be honest about the purpose of visit but after reading several transcripts and reasons for denial here, I want to get more informed opinion on this. Thanks

Good morning House,

We just received 221G follow up interview for me and my wife. We wanted to renew our visas wch is expiring May 2nd. We applied for b1/B2 for the renewal and this will be our second renewal together. We gave birth in the US to our son in 2015 and she spent 5 months because of this. This was during her second trip to the US after our first we're we went for our vacation.

The vacation was for 3 weeks. Her stay during her second trip was for 5 months after which she came back. She declared at POE that she came to give birth during that time. I also travelled to go see them for about 5 weeks.

Afyer everything they came back home. Though I came back before them. We made sure we got zero balance statements for all the bills (hospital, obgyn, lab tests, anaesthesiologist, pediatrics etc). We then reapplied using Dropbox and we were both granted visas. This was early 2017. So we decided to travel when we would be chanced wch was going to be early December to late December. She later decided to go to London with my daughter to see her family there while me headed to the US to visit a friend. We both spent about a month on both places and came back.

We didn't travel throughout 2018 due various reasons. We now decided to travel in July 2019 to NYC to visit a friend. We chose Newyork as we have never been there before and wanted a change from the southern states. And also this would be first time our son is returning. This is the time we can get to get off work so we decided to reapply early so that we can start planning for the visit. Nothing has changed in our previous application. I run a consulting firm with my wife as a Legal/compliance manager. She is a lawyer with 7 yrs post call.

Now the issue is my wife is 2months pregnant. We don't really know what to expect as this has put us in a precarious situation.

I think what ticked them off was 1. My wife's 5 months stay 2. She not using the previous visa in the validity period 3. Or the destination of our visit to NYC ( we are visiting a family friend and this was stated in the application with details)

Pls advise.

Also we can't seem to get a date for the follow up interview as the embassy hasn't released dates for them yet. My appointment page for dates always comes up blank. Am hoping we get a close date as anything further might complicate our case. Pls advise

goodmorning house,i have a situation with a colleague at work, they were granted visa (b1/b2) in late January, now wifey realised she is 6 weeks pregnant in mid-february after visa was out, she intend to put to bed in the u.s.
My advise to them;
1.write embassy and inform them that wifey is pregnant and they intend to put to bed since there is enough fund available.

Please gurus in the house, i will appreciate further advise to assist my friend.

hello sir,

Going by your testimony, i do not see anything wrong except there is a twist we dont know, probably something triggered and they need you to clear somethings but be rest assured that if you dont flout any law you most likely have nothing to worry about.

My advise is you go back to all your applications and look at it again to make sure there is no grey area anywhere pray n go collect your visa from them.

But there was somewhere u said your son was returning for the first time.. could you plss elaborate on that

No she did not, asking for my sister. She left with a B1/B2 visiting visa. But got an admission into a school upon getting there & got her status changed to student visa & is now hoping to apply for a F1 dependency visa for her child. Want to know if anyone has gone through this route b4 and if its feasible.

Thank u very much sir for the reply.

We thought as much too that something triggered and we need to clear out their doubts.

As per my son, I meant this would be the first time he would be visiting the US since after birth. He went with his mother to London in December 2017.

K visa is tough both the u.k and usa is not about complete document nowadays it their visa is about prayer, they no longer ask for document

Do you blame them?

Documents that be used to mislead from the hidden purpose...or even some that can be so fake but hard to detect in some cases.

Why do you say that? I think the UK visa is really not that hard to get because I think their main focus is on verifiable documentations.

The US visa might seems easy to get(which is not true) being that their visas are more face-to-face interviews and one knowing ones fate instantly unlike Canada, UK or Australia.

To the gurus in the house, i would like your opinions. I have gone through this thread and i am glad its helping a lot of us with visa issues. Myself presently is awaiting 221g in June (that was the earliest date i got) and unfortunately i do not have back up of my saved ds 160 forms as i lost mine as well as my mom not once but twice (the first one i used to successfully renew our visa) and the second one lost due to laptop malfunctions. This is our second renewal. I have been trying to recall what i filled in both scenarios and what could have possibly raised a flag that requested us for another interview and my conclusion arrived at how much i earn (its quite basic at about 40k monthly) as its a family business owned by my mother. With respect to my mom, her income is very stable and we have never flouted any rules whatsoever while in the USA. My first visit, i spent 3 months in Indiana for holidays while her first visit was just a month in California with my elder sibling visiting a relative. The second visit was together (my mom and i) to New York and we spent just a month for the holidays. Visa expired last June and i did dropbox by November until i received the 221g issue.

I would like to respectfully ask for any advice on what we should prepare ourselves on since i have no backups. Also do i need to build my account plus taking our bank statements to the interview, will that help our cause (as i have read on this thread the VOs do not even bother to look at it) least to show that i certainly have strong ties here as i will eventually take over the business from her. Thank you guys!

It's very obvious that he/she has no strong ties in Nigeria and has very high chances to not returning to Nigeria if given the next visa.
