I am sorry to hear you're having difficulty in completing payment using your diamond Visa card. I would suggest you use a First Bank Master Card, Stanbic IBTC Card, Sterling Bank, GTB bank, or Access Bank Master Card.

Thank sir frank, worked out with GT bank master card

Thanks so much sir,but with the recent information I heard,is it true Canada embassy will find out the age I use in applying for U.S visit 3 yrs ago if I should correct it back like you say sir?

Since there is an inconsistency on your passport that is totally different from the ones you have on your other documents. Then your best bet is to go to the Immigration Headquarters in Abuja. That's the only place I know in Nigeria that issues like this can be resolved without hassles, so don't let anyone tell you otherwise. When you get to the immigration headquarters, go straight to the Glass house and explain to any elderly officer you see around, please don't give the work to junior officers.

I reiterate elderly officers because they seem to be the only reasonable ones who takes the work serious, after explaining he/she will tell you how much it will cost you. Whatever the amount they tell you usually between (250k-300k), please don't bargain it too much as that alone might delay your work. I'm talking from experience, I'm sure you know how Nigeria government establishments work. With money you can easily buy your way through grin

If you want to Change it because you're now married, then you need to go along with some documents. E.g; your marriage certificate.

But whatever the case, be ready to spend a huge amount of money and also you'll need to be patient because the processing takes time let say (3-6weeks)

I hope you find the information useful.

It won't affect your admission. They will only check your previous transcripts including waec and any other educational document you submitted but have it in mind that it may delay the processing of your application as they will need the data page on your passport. You can send an email to the international admission office to explain but try to upload it soon nonetheless.

I have applied for Master of Finance at Queen's and have been interviewed by the admission team on Friday. I am waiting for my admission letter which they promised to send to me this week.

I hope I can meet up with visa timing. How long does it take to process online visa application? My program starts in June 2019.

Wow congrats. Grace goes with your application. I think there is a time line of 3 months. Some visas get approved within 3 weeks. So just trust God for speed. I think you should get all other things ready now. So once it's out, You apply e.g. police report, medicals e.t.c.
God's best

It likely will. You’ll have to remain hopeful. There are places where you can apply and get your International passport within hours. You should have waited but since the deed is done, when your passport is ready you can email the admission office and inform them that you have an additional document to submit.

Hi Nairaland Family,

So far so good, only three people have responded with their profile summary. The idea behind doing this is to enable us to establish a timeline as to how CIC operates. Please if you applied for a TRV, I would encourage you to share your timeline. This would help us study or attempt to establish a pattern to how CIC operates.

Hello yemilasko,

Congratulations on your TRV approval.

When you arrive at the POE the immigration officer will request for the following documents from you: -
1-) Your stamped visa passport;
2-) The study permit approval letter from the visa office (correspondence letter/letter of introduction)
3-) The acceptance letter from your school
4-) Proof that you have enough money to support yourself in Canada and
5-) Any relevant reference letters or papers that you were advised to bring with you.

You could be asked any of the following questions to determine your eligibility to enter Canada:
1-) Where do you plan to stay?.
2-) You will be asked if you are bringing in more than $10,000 CAD in cash, stocks, bonds, debentures, bank drafts, cheques, traveller's cheques, money orders, etc. Please make sure you declare it. ( At this point, you could possibly say that your school doesn't require tuition deposit until the first day to start of classes, hence you didn't pay tuition fees upfront. However, you have the funds here with you and will pay immediately you've settled down or as soon as the school resumes) This is pretty much reasonable. I believe it's not gonna be a problem for you.
3-) You will be asked if you are bringing any food, roots, meat or other edibles.. Please declare them (e.g Gala, palm oil are not allowed).
4-) You will be asked if you are carrying any drugs for which you do not have a valid prescription.
5-) What are you going to study?
6-) At which institution?
7-) How long are your studies?
8-) What do you intend to do after you have finished your studies?
9-) Some Immigration officers might ask you "How is Nigeria? Is it a nice country to stay?... They already know that nigeria is a country where the system doesn't work that's why everyone is rushing to Canada for a better living, so please don't fall for this question, it's meant to trick you. Always try to speak good about Nigeria and the reason why you must return.
Canadians are very friendly, thus the immigration officer will be smiling grin while asking you these questions. So be polite when answering them. Finally, never try to conceal any information from them!

Upon answering the aforementioned questions. The immigration officer will decide if you can enter Canada and how long you can stay, and if everything is okay, the officer will issue your study permit and you will also be redirected to a sperate counter where you will be issued your SIN (Social Insurance Number) which makes you eligible to work 20hours/per week during school session and 40hours/per week during holidays (spring).

As per your last question; you can get first hand information about getting an apartment in Toronto through the LIVING IN CANADA THREAD

I hope you find the above information useful to what you seek.

This r my opinions in regards to your questions. You might still ask others anyway

1.The answer to ur first question is yes it can. Your closing balance should be way higher than that.
2. Using the building and shop documents as a substitute won't convince the vo as they r more concerned on your bank statement rather than
your land or shop documents. Your closing balance should be higher and also u can add d shop and building documents when submitting.

Those of you applying to colleges most notably colleges in Ontario...Please find out first if the college has an online portal for admission. Do not go to ontariocolleges.ca to apply first without doing so cause I've seen some people do that.

Hello, sorry just seeing this, am sure Guru Frankrobbn1 has answered ur question in details.. But in addition to all what he has said, I will advise that you shouldnt be nervous or fidgeting all through the times you will be asked questions at the POE. Be confident when answering the questions and tell them the truth(dont hide anything from them). Wish you the best and make us proud at Canny. Meanwhile have you dropped ur details and timelines for ur application, if not please kindly drop ur details as the custom of this thread, so that awaiting applicants can be encouraged of a positive response to their application and also it can be used as a guide for the newbies... Peace
