Moreover the intending chapter is self-explanatory.

I suggest you elaborate your thesis ABSTRACT. The summary of your project work but try to discuss few points in it further.

Give it a try. Once you can convince the V.O of your genuineness as a student, the two statement of account is sufficient to get your visa approved.

Just an observation, do you presently have any affiliation with the nigerian pension commission or are you just 'hoping' to work there..what do you presently do now? Does it have any connection or can you think of any way you can relate it with computer science? The question 'what will you do after this degree?' Try to relate it with what you have experienced, what you are presently doing, the courses you have taken already relating to the course,how it has shaped you, how it will improve your present state, just be 'factual' about that question based on what is tangible that the VO can relate with, do not say where you 'hope' to work in the nearest future inside your first statement, you can add that one as Jara later later...Almost everyone wants to work in chevron or shell, saying this wouldn't convince the VO you have a personal immediate path after the degree..just say something that connects with the experience you have written in your Ds-160, remember the VO's are looking at your ds 160,let the story you have prepared for your interview conform with what you have in your form,it should be reasonable...also concerning your 'why Austin peay?', a lot of schools in tennesee also have a wonderful curriculum and practical orientation.but why APSU in your case? Saying wonderful curriculum to the VO is like saying national anthem to their ears....

I have a BSC (Computer Science) here in Nigeria, but due to poor facilities in our universities and poor practical approach, I am not satisfied with the knowledge I gained during my undergraduate studies. Don't mind this uninformed people who think life is all about getting masters without the skills needed to show for it.

I applied to a community college here and got my Visa and right now I am studying computer science. At first I was forming boss because I thought I knew Maths after all I studied Electrical Engineering but I was humbled by small Calculus 1

Now I am humbled, learning and understanding concepts which you wouldn't necessarily get in Nigerian schools. If after your Bsc you don't have a basic knowledge of Python, Java, C++, you don't know Object Oriented Programming, you can't implement Basic Data Structures like Arrays, Linked List, Binary Search Trees, Heap e.t.c you can't implement Basic sort algorithms, you can't perform perform computational complexity of algorithms, you don't know Dynamic Programming then please go to a community college, I have learnt all of this in community college. Don't mind this uninformed people who think life is all about getting masters without the skills needed to show for it.

If you are well informed, you should know you can learn all this while doing masters. You decided to go back to a community college is your own decision and business. Many people have background in biology and did masters in computer related field and got all the knowledge they wanted plus a higher degree. That's why it's good to ask questions so that you don't waste your time by following the wrong path. In your masters, you can take prerequisite courses that you lacked knowledge of. Also there many advantages of having a masters degree than a community college degree. The ball is in your court, play as you like.

No, you don't need any statement of account. Prepare well and go collect your visa.

As for sevis fee, you can go to ecobank at seme border, or find someone in USA to help you pay it (you can search for walspring on nairaland, he normally helps people to pay it).

Thank you for the wonderful observations the computer science and the concentration is in financial mathematics and I currently work in a finance house, but the inspiration behind the degree is pension I will like if you can help with any useful detail as regard the question "Why APSU university"

In this era of free knowledge via online learning, I don't agree with you. All these skills you mentioned can be learned through online courses (with a lot of them that are free online). Also, one can take prerequisites or electives in any area you feel you lack knowledge.

I think a Master's degree + self-study can do the trick as opposed to the community college you just mentioned. As an international student, the master's degree also gives him an advantage in the labor market. Even though some tech firms have removed formal degrees as a hiring requirement, it will be very hard to convince a hiring manager that your skills acquired through a community college is better than another dude with an MS in CS (even if it can be true in some cases).

These days, people with no CS degrees or non-technical backgrounds do self-study or attend 4 weeks bootcamps to gain skills and secure jobs in the tech industry. I would also want to agree with this but online classes do not help most people sadly. Bootcamps are great also but how many do you have in Nigeria, also the fees you would pay for a 4 week bootcamp would pay for more than a year of community college. At my community college i have graduates from UCLA, Berkley, USC who studied Biology, Psychology e.t.c taking computer science classes because they want to switch careers. My point really is if you don't have a strong background in CS, a masters degree in computer science would be frustrating because you may be able to "manage" to pass but you may not understand how to do anything. He can go to a community college taking just CS classes before applying to a masters degree.

Waiting list are what they are - waiting list. You only get called up if someone who was admitted declines his/her admission. But then, it doesn't automatically put you in line to be given the admission. Look at it this way. You are not the only one on the waiting list. Usually, there are several candidates on the waiting list and they are ranked in order of preference. So if someone with an admission declines it, the first person on the waiting list is given the admission. If that person has already moved on or declines it, then it moves on to the next person on the waiting list. It goes on like this until someone on the waiting list accepts. The fact is, there is no guaranty that you will be moved up from the waiting list. So work on getting other admissions and if eventually you're moved up the waiting list and are given the admission, you can then compare it with other admissions that you have, and make an informed decision.

I quite understand your point of view, but the fact is that the 'understanding' that you get in a community college can be obtained in a Masters programme (and more in my opinion). Like others have alluded to before, in the labour market, your masters degree will do so much more for you than an associate degree will. Also, the notion that "a masters degree in computer science would be frustrating because you may be able to "manage" to pass but you may not understand how to do anything" is very wrong and misleading. I know lots of people from non-computer science backgrounds who did masters programmes in computer science and none of them struggled. This is because as a non-computer science major, you're required to take prerequisite classes to make you become grounded. The experience you get from these prerequisite classes are similar to what you may get in a community programme. So my question to you is, why go for less when you can go for more?
