A quick one pls, I have filled the DS160 forms and have scheduled appointment for me & DW. Just realised I made an error on DW’s DS160. I have filled a new one but I’m having difficulty updating her DS160 on the appointment portal. The ‘update profile’ tab on the portal only allows me to update my own DS160 no. Kindly assist on how to update dependant’s DS160 no.

Set up a profile for her first, then do the update from there and it will reflect in yours too. Simple

My guess is that u go with both passports. They will advise u on what to do but I don't think it's something u Shud worry too much about.

Also pls how long did it take you to get an appointment after 221G? Was it immediately or after some days or after one week? Or do u think the dates appear in the appointment dialogue box batch by batch?

Same day I got passport back logged on and dates available for me to choose from if I remember correctly only had 3/4 dates to choose from same with time

But a friends own when we got the 221g letter back in Nov/Early Dec till now we haven’t been able to get an interview date for her so not sure how it works

Whao. Seems this thing is kalokalo.

Why give 221G when ur appointment system is in chaos and can't give quick resolution on the matter while travel plans are being disrupted inadvertently.

They should at least give a months period so that 221G cases can be dispersed in time.

I went for my interview on the 5th of March the vo ask for bill of landing which I didn’t go with and she gave me one white form wrote my name and the date on it and circle bill of landing. She said I should dhl the bill of landing.
I took it to dhl on the 7th of March. Since then the tracking has been saying my passport is with the US embassy until yesterday. From yesterday now tracking was saying there is no status update available. When I use this

The timing is actually unpredictable, different cases with their different timing, ranging officially from a day to 60 days, it could even take much longer in some cases though rare. So, keep checking that place you are checking till it changes to either ISSUED or REFUSED, but this one you are no longer seeing your passport, I hope it’s not already dispatched with an instruction for you to schedule and attend another interview. Time will tell.... Whew!

This is so surprising.Issued on what?I believe he went home with his passport.
Maybe is a techy or human error.

If I am in your friend shoes,what will I do?

I will print out the issued page,go back to the embassy with my passport,miracle could happen.

There's nothing to worry about there, i had a similar case and got my passport 2 weeks after of admin processing. Just be calm, im sure it wont take 60 days like the website says.. Most likely yours would be issued as long as the documents you sent are GENUINE

If he left the embassy with a slip confirming he was rejected and he also left the embassy with his passport that means he was actually denied visa. What he saw after logging in was most likely and error.

All this determines your income and other things

If you are a Junior Staff in the Civil Service, I don't think the embassy cares.

Will you return after your holiday? That's what matters to them

Civil Servant of any Cadre get U.S Visa like everyone else...and get denied too.

I'd like some clarification:

- Can someone drop off your passport at DHL and collect it when applying for a renewal?

- Has anyone tried using same passport photo for a visa renewal?

- Outside of a digital passport image, is it mandatory to have printouts for submission?

- I travelled twice last year and spent 13 and 26days respectively on recreational visits. While innocent, reading through the threads has me freaking out especially as I only used the visa last year before it's expiration this January.

This 221g thing has me freaked out. The stress of standing in line and the general awkwardness of those 2mins in front of a VO is anxiety inducing.

Yes someone can drop off but I believe you need to sign a form for that at DHL just call DHL.

Never, they have your previous passport used on file so do a new one … a recent one. To do dropbox you need to drop off a passport photograph with DHL even though you uploaded a photo when applying


Being eligible for dropbox has NEVER meant you can not be called for an interview. Lets correct that notion US embassy has this on their website.
In fact getting a visa doesnt mean you will be permitted entry into that country


No need to be freaked out, if you are called just prep for interview if you are not then you're not.

Good day guys, i am a medical student schooling in ukraine i came back to nigeria two years ago and got my usa b1/b2 visa but with my father who ive been having issues with due to the fact the he wasnt leaving up to the expectations of a father, ive visited the usa 2 times with my b1/b2 visa from ukraine where i school and ive never spent more than 3 weeks per the 2 visits..... i found out last year september that my father travelled to usa with his own visa and as a correct nigerian has refused to come back ... i am really worried because ive been hearing that it could affect me when i want to do my drop box renewal which i have to do anytime from now ..,My question is
1)could his action of being an illegal affect me during my own dropbox renewal eventhough, ive never overstayed or commited any crime inside or outside the USA, and i do not intend to ?
2) In the application form where it askes to state your parents,theres a subquestion that askes “Is this parent currently in the Usa” what do i put here?
3) lastly during my first application in which i got the visa , i wrote that he’ll (my father) be paying for my trip, now can i change it to my MUM or myself... will that cause red flags?
Honestly if i had know,i wouldnt have gone for the interview with him because he sweet talked me into it,making it seem like as though he was trynna cover up for missed fatherly moments as a kid... so i went with it.... now look what his putting me through..... anyadvice in my case would be very much appreciated

My husband did a drop box early this month, he is going for a 2days conference, and he was issued the visa. Honestly reading all the story on drop box really freak me out because the conference will be in June and scheduling for an interview would cause delay.
